3/7 GDT: Blue Jackets 8 at Red Wings 2
whitneydatsyukrox replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
LOL@ everything about this game! And yeah... pretty much just a fact, the team just can't play in front of Osgood. When Conklin gets the start, it's like a brand new team playing in front of him (not always, just usually). Ozzie's got to step it up (for more than those, what, 2 games?) to get the team to build their trust in him. But I just don't see how it can happen when we stink it up in front of him so hard from the get go. What a mess. -
3/7 GDT: Blue Jackets 8 at Red Wings 2

Yeah... No one's really clicking at all. Not liking the lines. Here's for a better second! Unless the Wings want to turn it on now, that's always cool too -
So, so sad However she suffered for such a long time and definitely deserved peace. I have an article on Mr. and Mrs. Howe from years ago. It illustrated the fierce love and devotion Gordie had for his wife as her health faded the past few years. It is something all couples, families, everyone could learn from. Amazing people. Rest in peace, Mrs. Hockey!

Hossa is on pace for a career high in goals
whitneydatsyukrox replied to Z and D for the C's topic in General
Yeah. Just a while ago he was totally gonna make it to 50 with the roll he was on So sad, poor guy. But there is always next season! Crazy to think what he can achieve in a full season, given he took a while to get adjusted to being on a new team at the beginning of this season. -
Very happy with it. Our regular lineup is incredible, and to top it all off we have many NHL-ready players in GR. We're so lucky! And I'm apparently very slow because I had no idea until now that the Wings are now in 1st place in the league. Yeah, there are still differences in games in hand all that (although Boston and SJ are on 2 game losing streaks... due for an extended slump). But it seems like just yesterday that we were forever looking up at the Sharks' and eventually Boston's record. This team can do it again

Hossa injured vs. Blues, carried out on stretcher
whitneydatsyukrox replied to REDHASEK's topic in General
Oh man do I love Hossa. I hope he doesn't play the Avs and he likely won't, but I can totally picture him flat on his back in the hospital after such a freak accident, asking to play the next day! Incredible man. -
HOORAY!!!!!! About time Ozzie got that first shut out!!!! Good game, good game! Glad the Wings never, ever want to repeat THE Nashville game again. Get well soon, Hoss!
-
It really is And of course great for McD's. I work there and can't tell you how many people come through my drive-thru simply asking for the new NHL masks. Works both ways! Aaaaand pretty sure this is my 1,001st post on LGW lol. Yay.

HOORAY! So happy for Hossa!!!! What a hero. And congrats to Ericsson! He got an assist on Draper's goal. 1 point in his first game of the season, not bad!
-
Haha I was gonna say.... Reznet sucks. Come playoff times though, their games will actually be AIRED in Canada! Can't come soon enough!
-
Mmhhhmm

Oh my goodness this is just scary! He probably wasn't trying to really injure Hossa, but you DON'T shove a guy like that in the direction of the boards. He literally threw Hossa to the side! Get well Hossa
-
You are incredible. I'm in night lecture now without headphones, so I thought the game was hopeless to follow. Thank you!!!
-
And guess what? Currently, NJ is in 2nd place in the East and NY is in 7th. Please God let Brodeur and Avery meet again in the playoffs!
-
Is it wrong that I'm jealous the Rangers have him and not us haha? He is so, so effective at what he does. Given the right environment, he's probably not going to cause much trouble. He was fantastic with the Rangers before and should help, again, give them a much-needed boost! He was very clutch in the playoffs last season, to top it all off. And such a bargain now! I just love the man, obviously. Can't wait to see Torts and Avery together! Should be interesting.

Another reason why this organization...

Wow... What's not to love about the Wings? I definitely cried, it was so sweet to see how touched Mr. Gatherum was! -
Dandenault askes to be traded out of Montreal
whitneydatsyukrox replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
I loved him during his time on the Wings but we really don't need that type of defenseman. So fast, but we've got 'fast' covered. Hopefully he finds a good new home though, definitely deserves to get out of Montreal! -
Apparently LGW profiles have some form of a 'wall' haha. Soooo just sayin hello!
-
Not complaining about that But hopefully Hossa's feeling fine after the game off!
-
Congratulations, Datsyuk! What a game to reach that milestone. He is incredible. Not to mention even more great quotes from him after the game!
-
4-2 Wings! Goals by Leino, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and hmm... let's say Stuart gets one. Hopefully only Cheechoo for the Sharks! And also, hopefully halfway through the game, if Franzen and Hossa continue to not click offensively, Leino will get some time on the 2nd line. It's good to have his offensive abilities on the 4th line but I believe Hossa's drought has been ever since Franzen returned to his line. Oh well, maybe they've all adjusted by now and will light up Nabokov together

I completely forgot about Phaneuf. He bothers me so much for no legit reason. I would get so annoyed when he'd get "Norris-buzz," I just always thought there were far more worthy defensemen- not even just Lidstrom. And for some reason or other, I'm very happy that he's on pace for career lows in goals, points, +/-, shot %, the works. I'm also happy that Lidstrom's shot % is almost 9 when Phaneuf's is almost 4%, and Lidstrom has many a year on Phaneuf. Oh, and Lidstrom's +/- is better, even goal total when Phaneuf is talked about often for his "hard shot' *cringe.* But oh wait! Phaneuf is also known for his bone-crushing hits. But this season, he sits in 24th place among defensemen Stuart is even ahead of Phaneuf, and he's played 15 fewer games. I just really don't like him, and find joy in his shortcomings. And he's a fine defenseman. Ah well!

LOL!! I actually mostly have players I like for no reason. But I really don't like Tim Thomas, irrationally of course. Something about his headshot just makes me think he should be in the NFL or anything but hockey.

2/13 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Blue Jackets 3
whitneydatsyukrox replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
LOL a typical (old school) Lilja moment. But he's forgiven, they happen so much more rarely now. -
It's a testament to Leino's pure awesomeness that a slump for him is, what, two pointless games?
