This has been an awful day for the hockey world. I'm still trying to let this all sink in. Hated reading through this thread from the start due to the conflicting reports about Rusty. Prayers to all of the affected family and friends, and yes there are many to be said to many people. I find it ironic that training camp will be starting soon and hopefully that will help a lot of us get through the healing process as it did after 9/11. And yes, everyone does mourn in their own way. So let’s just do that. No running satires about what we believe. Seriously folks, a lot of us lost some friends or people that we admired today. Let’s just try to remember them now.

Only other arena that I have ever been to besides the Joe is the Honda Center (the Pond at the time). That was around 97-98 and that's where I saw my first NHL game (Sabres VS Ducks) and my first Wings game. At that time it was nearly impossible to get a ticket @ the Joe.

Respect his choice on his # choice. Looking forward to seeing what he can do this season. Sounds like a guy who wants to prove that he can be a top 4 D.

Thanks for the memories Ozzie. I became a hockey fan in 94' and I have always rooted for Ozzie even when he was with the NYI and Blues. I remember being at BW3s (now Buffalo Wild Wings) while I was going to school at BGSU when Ozzie and Roy faced off. The whole place went nuts. And of course I remember watching the game when he scored that goal against the Isles. Glad that he is staying with the Wing's organization.

Have to say the East. Less travel and if the divisions are aligned right, then 6 games against the Leafs and Pens. After watching that last game this season with the Leafs vs the Wings, I am missing that huge rivalry (apparently the Leafs fans still think that there still is a rivalry and keep coming to the Joe which makes those games really fun).

Yeah this board will probably become the unofficial letgobolts board now. Dissapointed we lost, but even though I watched every preseason game that was aired, all 82 games, and every playoff game, I'm really proud of this team....Go Wings. Go Bolts!!

If you want to get in and out of the Joe quickly and easily the Cobo roof parking lot is the way to go. It's $10.00 though.

With Mule most being likely out, I don't think that Babs has much of a choice but to play Modano. He's just a better option than Huds at this point.

Philly did it last year...no reason why the Wings can't do the same thing this year. These have all been 1 goal games so something has to give. Trying to be optimistic, but at least I will have the Bolts to root for this year if the Wings go down.

This is the first season that I've actually started rooting for another team besides the Wings (well, except for anyone that the Pens or Hawks play). Hope the Bolts can push farther in but they are facing a well rested Caps team.

All I know is that the Bolt's play caller and color guy who called games 4 & 5 almost put me to sleep.

I think the Wings got their wish with every other WC series going to at least 6 games (plus 3 of the 4 series in EC are going to a game 6 or 7). Unfortunetly, this is a long wait for the Wings and I think that everyone has seen before what that can do. Looking forward to seeing a full healthy lineup coming into Round 2, just hoping they can keep up bringing the game they brought against the Yotes.

Hopefully the Preds take this series. Would suck having three teams in the PST zone with the Wings being the only one in the EST. Obviously the Sharks would have an advantage since they haven't had much travel and no time zone changes.
