Hope Raffi is in. Obviously he won't play at game speed so I hope that a forward is scratched and a backup D is on the roster. Very important to wrap up this series with the next game. The Hawks are awaiting there next opponent now. They get to rest.

Congrats to the Hawks on going the conference final. Looking forward to finishing off this series with the Ducks. Four lines has been just too much for any team the Wings has or will face. Go Wings!!!

If Lidstrom want's to play for a few more years, then he will take what works to make the Wings a playoff team every year that Lids decides to play there.. Several players did that in 02. Not the same rules, but the same principal. Hossa just works too well in the Wings system to let him go. When Holland signed Franzen, he basically imputed to Hossa what the Wings would pay considering the cap hit. Hossa knows that so he knows that he will have to sign a deal similar to Franzen's deal to remain a Wing.

These may be the lines at the start of the game. The Wings need to fight off these early Ducks goals. These lines have worked pretty well all season but since we saw the domination of the ZDH line with Flips centering a line with Hossa and Franzen all has been well and these lines dominated.

Hope he's looking for a new accountant. I don't care how much money you make....I'd be pissed off if my accountant goofed up and you had to pay 16G in penalties and interest.

I'd recommend the Marriott Renaissance. Nice 10 minute walk along the river on your way to the Joe. Got caught in some charity walk-a-thon the last time I walked from the there.

Nothing compares to the Wings/Avs rivalry. At its peak...it was the best rivalry in any sport. Between The Turtle and Roy, there isn't a player that a Wings fan could hate more (still hate them). Hoping that Roy takes the head coach for the Avs as I get to hate the Avs all over again (umm I mentioned that I hate Roy, right????)

Agreed. Giggy didn't face many shots or scoring chances while he was on the ice. Guess we will see.

The Wings can roll out 4 lines and play them through OT. The Ducks can't do the same. It's a 7 game series. Do the math.

In the post game interview with Babs he was asked about Big E's role as a fighter. Babs said it was OK for him to fight as long it was only against Getzlaf, Perry or Ryan.

I think Kenny mentioned in the 1st round that Feds was contemplating retirement. Hey if they both want to play next season there will probably be room on some team's roster for them.

Agreed. Nothing wrong with a clean hit...even if it ends a guy's career. Hits to the head just seem to do that more than most hits.

Liked Bab's comment in the post game interview on the hit. "Well the league and the players association are big on protecting guys heads, so I am going to be just like you and watch and see" That pretty much summed it up for me.

As mentioned, the league does not look down kindly on deliberate hits to the head which is definitely the case here. At least a one gamer.

It was fun watching Ericsson knock the little ***** Perry around. Hoping for a better game 2 as the Wings were looking a bit sloppy in their own zone and had a difficult time setting up on the PP. Definitely a bit of lag with all of those days off.

Bought tickets from StubHub for a playoff game with no problems. They have an office in downtown Detroit to pick the tickets up at. Can be pricey, but if you wait til the day of the game, most prices go down significantly.

Pavs finally gets the recognition that has deserved for far too long. Best all around player in the league without question. Maybe the voters are starting to figure out that AO's goal celebrations don't make him the best player in the NHL.

Glad that Mason is a finalist .... when do the announcements come out for the Selke and the Hart? Hope Pavs is a finalist in both of those.

yep that pretty much sums up the story. I was a big fan of Feds until he bailed out and screwed the Wings out of signing some other players while he sat there on the contract (hence my aviator). Although his signing with the Ducks probably will be concluded to be more of a blessing in disguise for the Wings (How many threads have been out about Feds and Lang being mentioned in the same sentence as lazy & sucks??). Yeah his track record since leaving the Wings would not characterize a player making 10M a year with his stats since leaving.
