Sweet, guess that means that I'll have the arena just a mile away from home.

Yeah there is no way Toledo could support 2 pro hockey teams. Toledo could and did support an ECHL team and I have no doubt that Toledo could support and AHL team. I guess I have my doubts if this unfolds as true as this IHL team will probably not have any affiliation with the Wings and therefore will probably not draw the same crowds that the Storm did. 2 out of 2 for our boys so that is great. Still a little bumbed that Hank wasn't a finalist for the Selke but that will be his next year.

Yeah this has nothing to do with the downtown arena. Apparently this arena and franchise is being put together by a group of private investors and hasn't hit the news yet as it has been tilted to compete against the downtown arena (I was told that it is a prefab arena the will be able to be built quickly enough for next season) . I'm sure once the news comes out it will give Carty another coronary. All I know is that I am just waiting for another local pro team to get into the area ASAP. Guess we'll know more when the UHL brings out it's press release.
-
OK makes sense now. I was told by someone who works for a company in Toledo that that company has bought into a franchise of an IHL team that it was going to build a 6,000 seat arena in the Crossroads area just south of Toledo.
-
Yeah I know that IHL has been dead for a while but I have been told that the leauge has been revamped due to the UHL name meaning that the teams will go under the IHL instead. Can anyone confirm this?
-
No that would be Tiger Woods.
-
Hope Dom comes back with a reasonable salary to keep the team competitive. I think he will do so as he just wants to win and you can't go wrong with that type of player.
-
Congrats to the Ducks. Still gonna vomit everytime I see Pronger kiss that Cup. See you next year as it will be the Wings Cup.
-
Always thought Maclean was Grapes whipping boy. It was nice to see Hull interacting with him. Hopefully Grapes will stay around through the rest of the series.

It's gonna hurt the Wings if they lose both Schneids and Markov. Of course Markov is a grittier D than Schneids but the power player just went to hell without Schneids and he is decent on D, not as good as Markov, so yeah the management will have to make some decisions about this. If the Wings can get them both at the right price, I think they would be both back next season. Markov has played some great D but I have always noticed that his zone out passes are dangerous and have caused some really bad turnovers that burnt the Wings.

WCF Game 6 (5/22) GDT: Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

Anyone recall when Babcock split out Dats and Hank from the same line. I wanna say it was in this series and the Euro Twins need to be reunited for the rest of the playoffs if the Wings want to win the Cup. -
WCF Game 4 GDT (5/17): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

Any one going up to the Joe from Toledo for Game 5? I will have to drive up there and meet my client myself at Motor City but if anybody would like to carpool and save some gas then let me know. Just PM me. -
Wow the NHL finally got something right. I think the suspension is fair in light that Homer wasn't seriously injured, but if Homer had been seriously injured Pronger should have gotten a much lengthier suspension.
-
Well I hope one of the two gets a game suspension for the hit on Homer. I'm still concerned about the power play as we netted only one goal on all that power time we had. Very glad Homer is alright. Kopecky played pretty well for the lack of game time he has had. His timing seemed to very good for a guy who hasn't played for quite some time. I think he will be playing in the next game. Flips played an incredible game. Should have been the first star. Dom was Dom. He does not like to lose and when he does, watch out, he will not make many mistakes. GO WINGS!!!

As cadmonkey commented thanks to those on this thread for your service. OK so I got the HD feed for the G2 Buffalo/Ottawa game on Buckeye so what gives here? I was lucky that I got home at game time for G1 of the Wings/Ducks game and figured out that it was not on the VS HD channel that I had preset to record to. I set the recording for the G2 Buffalo/Ottawa game and the DVR cut it off via the programming guide so I missed the last 10 minutes of the 3rd and the 2OT play. And yea I noticed that that prior games covered on NBC's HD channel would push out the recording time in order to record the whole game. Anyone know how long the NHL has a contract with OLN/VS. Coverage would be so much better for most of us if the NHL could get a contract with USA, TNT, or back to ESPN. VS is killing the game in every way.

Almost seems to be a "too good to be true" with these prices. I'll check back Sunday morning to see if anyone picked up tickets for Game 2 on this site or if someone actually got tickets for Game 1 and actually made it to their seats. With these printable tickets from the PDFs the potential for fraud is way up there. I have tickets for Game 5 but if I could pick up some tickets for that cheap, I would be very tempted to pull the trigger on some of those cheap Game 2 emailed tickets.
-
Crap. DVR bit the dust and the new is not picking up the signal. Gonna have make a priority call to the cable company to catch this game. Very pissed that this game can not be picked up on basic cable. IThe Wings will take the a sweep on this unless those Canadien refs keep pushing their agenda.

I got to go to R1 G2 with section 108 row 16 seats right on the red line .... cost was $270 for the pair of which a client of mine picked up the cost (the guy makes $120 and hour so he's looking for any expense he can find). My client also picked up tickets for CF G5 lower bowl 10th row in section 118 ... cost was $680 for three seats. I could never afford those tickets but from somebody who has usually had upper corner seats in the upper bowl, the difference is night and day when watching a live game. With the seats I had at round one you could see everything you would see on TV except for the replays. I kind of wonder what those seats that I had for R1 would have gone for on Stubhub for a regular season game .... probably not too much less. Point is if you are not a season ticket holder with good seats, your either are going to deal with crappy seats for regular season games or pay a lot more for better seats on Ebay or Stubhub.

As said, a HUGE loss. Losing a D and a pointman for the rest of the playoffs is not very good. All said it is very important that the Wings finish this off in SJ as the forwards are going to take some the slack. Still stoked from the win but this is very bad news .... hope Lebda can get in the line up for game 6.

Glad the Canucks are gone. Can't explain why I don't like them (Oh yea that's right .... Crawford used to coach there). Anyways, wondering if the Ducks have an advantage going into the West finals with the break they have waiting for our series to fold out.

Wow the Wings just got lucky according the current TSN report ... gee I remember something quite the same when the Wings won game 2 http://www.tsn.ca./nhl/news_story/?ID=206430&hubname=nhl
