Please. Datsyuk will get more than 100 pts with the addition of Hossa. You think he will score less? He will be our top scorer again this year. He will likely have access to Hossa on a reg. shift and Z on the pp.

Not sure what you mean. A ggod comparison would be to Hudler. Filppula was a third round pick; Hudler was a second rounder. This past year, Flip has scored only a handful of points less than Hudler and had a better +/- in reg. season and playoffs. Val is a trusted pk guy with (as Babs said) high-end offensive talent. Until this past year, we really didn't know if Hudler would even be in the NHL for sure, much less a red wing... He's really improved his skating and strength. I'm extremely proud of Huds AND Filppula. When Filpulla wasn't signed, fans of other teams were very interested in their team snagging him.

If the Wings are healthy, they are the clear favorites (surprise!). Part of being healthy down the stretch and throughout the post-season involves some luck. You don't win the cup without at least some luck with injuries and bounces. Think back to that 5 on 3 vs Anaheim. Langer's top corner shot hit Jiggy's stick shaft rather than twine... This year, Malkin's shot not only missed but cleared the zone! Sure Hank made the big play on Crosby but that was just one of several chances for the Pens on that pp. Like Babcock said, the pressure is on the attacking team during 5 on 3's at that time of year. I also think Dallas did us a big favor in knocking off SJ, Ana and then sort of laying an egg against us. If the wings are focussed and fortunate, they will repeat.

Here Here! Maybe if enough letters were written to the NHL, perhaps Sid the Skid could claim the trophy that is rightfully his!

I think the Conn Smythe was up for grabs until the end by several Wings, esp. Ozzie. Had Ozzie pitched a SO or had a stellar outing that last game, he would have won it. Hank won it by a nose.

There is? As if... but Is it Crosby? Crosby Crosby Crosby. Pavel says: Here's your lunch, son...

"I don't have nothin" Yeah right Pav...

All time? He's up there but it's hard to say, given the span of time and sheer number of players; he may well be considered so by the end of his career. Having said that, he is absolutely the best stickhandler and stickchecker, for that matter right now. It's not that subjective, either. That's just the "wow factor." If you look at creativity, escapability, being dangerous one on one, two, three etc., being able to reliably stickhandle into the attacking zone on the pp... like the song, nobody does it better...

Datsyuk is easily on of the top3 in the game right now, great interview. Fixed it for ya...

Well that's great news. I've been coming back to this offseason wasteland daily to see if we bagged us a Flip... The length is surprising but I'm happy! The wings will have 150 pts. this season! lol...

Not surprised people semi-literacy Hudler and Sammy's big goals in the finals shows their greater worth over Dmac and Downey.
-
More on topic: Hudler makes Luongo and Edler look stupid.

Surrey, most likely...

Gotta go with Russia -- it's not even fair...

Lilja's never even come close to being an enforcer... lol... He's perhaps a "reinforcer", ie depth d-man.
-
Poor gullible slob... I don't find it cogent at all.
-
You don't replace the best dman since Orr... We'll need to do our best to have a couple of new star dmen to lead the way. And I don't think Holland is going anywhere, so pop a Xanax and relax bro.
-
Exactly. Sammy showed up at the critical time. 'Nuff said.

I hope we keep Flip. I think of him as our "Finnish Feds": Seeing him do the Fedorov (outside, cut inside) move and score in the Final, makes me sure he made a few GMs salivate. Babcock said he had high-end skill and it's clear that he does. He plays very well at both ends, can work the pk, and is trusted by Babcock. It only hurts if your special players get poached as RFA's --Val is one. It'd be nice to have the picks and knowing us, it'll give us a special player in return but I hope it doesn't come to that. His best career move in the long term is to stay here. With this high-proflie team, he will get amply compensated for signing for a bit less money now. If you look at VAncouver, you'd think a team in their position wouldn't dare part with those picks; however, they may not be able to do what we can with draft, and they know it. They might as well overpay for a rising star.

lol... I was gonna preface my comments with "I know someone like Harold will probably jump on me for this...

I know he's young and all but he's a choker. He scored on himself to lose the final in the WJC and he pulled a repeat to lose the cup. I guess he forgot to leave his wallet in the dressing room.
