Flip that was dumb!

Way to go *******!

Wow Toskala has our #
-
Shoot that thing Pavel!
-
Would they prepare for Florida the same way as the wings? Toskala plays well against the wings... refs pitching in too...
-
Nice leadership shown by Lidstrom... When you come out flat, give up a lucky one early and the refs are jamming ya, lead a rush up the ice and score!
-
Um tripping?

Wings play well but hit a lot of iron todayand win by 2 (1 EN)
-
Dom will be ready on Sat.!
-
GO Wings on Saturday!
-
Wings will be ready for Toronto on the weekend rather than coasting in on yet another win. Better tonight than Sat. I have a lot of Leaf fans to deal with! Streaks will inevitably cause complacency.

That's my boy. To think I took so much heat for giving "Ten reasons Datsyuk is better than Naslund back in '04!
-
I was gonna post this too... For some reason I get 95% opponents feeds on my Centre Ice and almost without exception Pavel's (and Z's) defensive responsibility gets tossed some verbiage... I see Pavel as having a good shot at it, actually. Who's his competition?
-
I think it's safe to say Pavel is a legit Selke candidate: +37, the most takeaways by a mile, relatively few giveaways (esp. for a guy who carries the puck a lot), plays the pk, backchecks tenaciously the way Hank did the past couple of years, and is trusted by Babcock to play in any and all situations.
-
Yep. We've really got to trade this guy before it's too late. I like him a lot but man he plays much bigger than his body can handle. Throw in some bad luck and boom, he's no good to us on the sidelines.
-
It's clear that Ruutu went for Kovalchuk's knee, the way he kicked at his leg. What a tool... No surprise though...
-
ooooooooooooo... ya really went out on a limb there... Ducks would be favourites, yes.
-
He sure was when he eliminated the Flames in OT! Grabbing Franzen was what the Wings truly needed: a mature, physical forward that could fit in right away. This is hardly a mistake. Would he have still been around in later rounds? Who knows.

I think Vancouver will make a pitch for Mats. Being the guy to finally bring the Cup to Van, would be quite the motivator for Nonis. But I don't think they will part with good young guys like Bieksa or Edler, and aside from them and very expendable Kesler who else would they have to offer? A boat load of high picks? Toronto is going to auction Sundin off to the highest bidder and I don't think the Nucks will win the sweepstakes. As for Forsberg, who cares? The Nucks adding some scoring would make those 3-2 wins we had against Van so far look very interesting... I don't think the Wings will stand pat themselves though. As with Giguere, Luongo has been shown to be vulnerable to the close in pass for the one-timer and deflections. If you think you'll beat 'em with one-timers from far out, you'll out-shoot them and lose by a goal.

Datsyuk = Selke
-
Datsyuk backchecks, forces the pass, then does the yoda past their D and sets up Homer for the gimme. Gawd I'm glad he's on our side...

Wings suck

Win or lose, Wings are the best team in the league. Here's to hoping we win! Cheers! :beerbuddy:

What a wacky game! I was starting to search for a silver lining... "atleast they'll be focussed after a loss going into Ottawa" (a must win for those of us who have to deal with Sens fans)...

Sammy is like Lilja, ya's takes the good with the bad... Anybody who can cut Lilja slack and can't do the same for Sammy is puzzling. We all know he can fire it, but his shooting % sits at around a finski... But if he gets 15 to 20 goals for us and can help out in the post-season again he's more than justified his pricetag. Maybe a few minutes less a game, but Sammy can be dangerous at times. I think the Wings shoot for the crest a lot when they are protecting a lead or in a really tight game. I think it's part of the puck possession game plan, sometimes, as you end up getting an offensive zone face-off when you have no other play available. When you have several good face-off men, you then tend to have offensive-zone puck possession more than the other team. Sammy is just more accurate for the crest shots than ANYBODY, that's all.
