Shades of Fedorov? I get what you're saying in that you have the idea that if Franzen came to play with a high level of intensity every game, he'd be be unstoppable. With fedorov, I recall going to games and being very disappointed that Feddy was totally dis-interesed and invisible. There were many nights where he just mailed it in. With Franzen, I'm not so sure it's attributable to laziness. I remember when he started scoring big goals in the playoffs, he remarked in the post games that it was really exciting for him to be scoring game winners because he WASN'T USED TO IT. His goal scoring ability has emerged as a strength of his and perhaps he himself doesn't quite yet have a handle on it. I've seen games where he is going right to the net repeatedly and coming very close to multiple goal games. I think the jury is still out on the Mule and his magic wrist shot.

What a pass by Z, then sweet finish by Mule (hat trick for my fantasy bonus please) oh crap... -

I wouldn't say Nabby's a fool for giving it a go... Snow may not get something for nothing here. Nabby's rights are worthless unless Nabby says otherwise.

Take a seat for awhile Bertuzzi

It's tough for the Wings to gain the zone on the pp without Pavs.

Right on Kindl is finally looking solid.

You can tell Milbury does not like the Wings one bit. BTW, Datsyuk doesn't have a mild concussion, he broke his wrist. Had the Wings not been on back to back games, perhaps Babcock would have bag skated the guys on the ice who didn't respond to the hit (I would hope so),

You don't need an enforcer to stick up for your teammates. I realize that Stuart put himself in a vulnerable position by taking like 3 swats at a floating puck ( Lidstrom he aint) but that hit was vicious and an example of the kind of thing that the NHL says they are trying to eliminate from the game. Hockey is a sport where very serious injuries can occur when players take advantage of each other like this and you need to stick together as a team and protect your guys. If you are a team like the Canucks, or any other division leader, just injure the Wings' players, they won't anything do but wave their finger at you!

I can't believe nobody on the wings flattened the guy who did this to Stuart--pretty sad...pussified wings

Sounds encouraging to have two well regarded prospects at the WJC-- go JKROK (KNow what I'm sayin?)

When I was in Stockholm when I was 15 I walked around with an erection the whole time there were so many babes... btw, My billot family told me to expect a loss against Huddinge and they beat us 7-0--best midget hockey team I ever played against--only Detroit Compuware came close.

For a minute there I thought you guys were talking about Patrick Cehlin, the Swedish kid who scored that sick top corner goal. I got all excited that whoever that kid was, was a Wings prospect... but he went 126th to the Preds. He looks a bit like a right handed Datsyuk. Oh well, we have Jarnkrok or whomever. .

The Wind only favors Datsyuk!

Ha Ha nice rip on Pierre. The thing I can't stand about him is exactly this kind of homer-logic. It's so obvious when people will throw up any piece of s*** reason to justify their emotional stance on an issue.

Aside from a good hunting "accident", there's nothing I love to see more than a big hitter get smoked--they can rarely take what they dish out...

Datsyuk out 4-5 weeks with broken bone in hand

I thought Pav was gunning for 100pts this year for sure. My interest in hockey just took a hit. Right away I could tell by the way his arm bent that he was in trouble. -
You may be right about Babcock not defending him so much as supporting him and underscoring that he believes it's a confidence issue that can be righted by effort and perhaps just potting a few goals. Also, Ken Kal said on the radio tonight that the thinks it's just a matter of time before Hudler regains his happy. I agree--he's got too much skill to be playing this way for too much longer. But he's got to regain the hunger he had before getting that fat Russian contract...

As Lionel Hutz would say: "Yes, but hearsay and conjecture are kinds of evidence..."

It's a bit unorthodox to hit with your back but I like the way he lines up the player with those crossovers. It reminds of a kid who use to do that when we played minor travel hockey--except he would come in low with the hip & the victims would fly about 8 feet in the air whilst spinning rapidly... sometimes some of their gear would end up in the seats.

I don't understand your poor grasp of douchebaggery... But yeah, clean hit for once...

You can't be serious. The salary cap has nothing to do with the decades of poor drafting and management in Toronto and the seeming disregard for a fan base that will gobble up the garbage on their plates, belch, and beg for more. Toronto fans deserve what they get because they are too busy pointing their jealous fingers at teams like the Wings and saying absurd things like "the wings buy their cups," instead of asking questions about their own organization and demanding changes be made and voting with their feet if they aren't satisfied. But they seem perfectly content to wallow and swallow so f***'em.
