Pavel's hands are top 5 in the world. He can still make those moves with bouncing pucks and all. When he passed that puck to Hank though I screamed at the tv... Take the SHOT! I think when you see how big Giguere looks in the net, however, you might understand why you might try to catch him moving side to side. Hank got a B+ chance in the end but a clear shot in the playoffs should be taken, hands down.

I thought the game was rather even, they had more calls go their way, which inflated the shot totals. We missed some good chances, so did the Ducks-- they hit a post, so did we. They could have had a open netter but Hasek did his thing. Datsyuk made Niedermayer look like a school boy on that rush where he drew him, then slipped the pass thru his legs over to Homer. We got some lucky goals but man that play by Sammy to Hank should have connected. To me, it looked like the Ducks tried to goon it up a bit when the Wings gave them trouble.

What a punk... Pavel just casually looked at him like "who the f*ck are you?" That was so lame of Perry... Pavel was too busy dancing around 27 and 44 out there to care. You could tell that Perry meant to run into Cheli too... they know we are short on d... When Calgary tried to goon it up, we responded well--we have to do it again.

Maybe it was bad aim from nerves by SJ. Stats, schmats. Goals don't happen in a (statistical) vaccuum. Isn't it also the timing of the goals? What about the type of goal ? Nabby's gift to Pavel was a big deflater/momentum swinger. Just like Homer and Langer's late ones... It's the playoffs, man...

Better than a lot of folks that have been here a while Zetterberg's contract endears him to Wings fans-- talk about bang for your buck! Some will try to sell on how Hank is a better two-way player but they are really splitting hairs. Some of the moves Selanne pulled on Vancouver dropped my jaw...the same Pavel way does... This is gonna be some series.

The Ducks have the edge, no question...The Wings still have a great chance. If we get secondary scoring (where would be without Sammy coming through with the deadly dagger goals vs the Sharks?) we'll do fine. It's gut check time for Bert. Our pk is also going to be so key--I just have this image in my head of Pronger/Niedermayer chucking wristers on net and getting pinball goals--not good. Perhaps most of all, the Wings need to go back and look at the video of the games the Wings chased Giguere the year after the Ducks bounced us. Didn't we own him for the next several games in the reg. season?

I never felt the bias until I moved out to Vancouver. It's palpable, and embarrassing.
