Yep, my Detroit team beat them 3-1, in a Toronto tournament as I recall... and then we beat the Wexford Raiders for the tourney title... Hockeytown! Support the wings...

Wingsor: I played for Windsor and Detroit minor hockey teams growing up and trust me Detroit minor hockey teams smoked Toronto every time. Detroit IS HOCKEYTown...

I know we have other sports teams in this town and the Flames are the the biggest draw there but I wanna see some asses in those Joe seats! Let's Go Wings! Wingsor rules! It's supposed to be HOCKEYTOWN!

Lidstrom's mistake was only one of three on that play; first, Hank was illegally prevented from grabbing that loose puck, call it holding or interference, take your pick; Lids tried to intercept the pass and missed it (a rarity) but it's a 2-2 game and you might want to play it conservatively; Hasek was too far in his net, but hey, it's the first mistake of the series for him and he's playing great. In a sense, it shows that Lidstrom has confidence in Dom to back up a failed gamble, so I'm not worried, it's one play ;besides, you don't win in OT or close playoff games by sitting back--it aint Manny or Cujo back there anymore. Personally, don't think the Flames will win another one, let alone beat us in the series.

So do I, but it won't be, I'm afraid... But that's the way it goes in Calgary and we have try to play through it, if that makes sense.

Yeah that was an awesome hit on Dion--seeing him staggering around after the goal was the second best moment of the series for me aside from Pavel scoring! I love how Flames fans say the hit on Datsyuk from Phanuef was ok but when Dion gets rocked it's not. It was Clearly... Cleary!

Hank should have been paying attention and expecting the usual outlet play. Mick said that he admitted it. He also allowed himself to be taken out of the play on the winning goal, that's classic Flames playoff hockey... I wouldn't hang it all on Lidstrom. Lids' mistake was trying to intercept a pass mid-rink in a 2-2 game.

Zetterberg will break out tonight! You can't keep him off the scoresheet for long... Here's to hoping that the refs don't suddenly pocket their whistles tonight in Calgary--they've been calling the cheating well so far... Wings win a close one... I wanna see Bertuzzi....

Pavel, Flip and Lidstrom again! Some crusty types will probably complain that our scoring isn't spread out out enough . We'll need Bert in Calgary big time. We are likely gonna win by one goal if we do... If they don't have Regehr, they are going down quick. I wonder if Draper took a potshot at his knee--it would serve them right for trying wrench Zetterberg's back.

I wouldn't agree that it has to do with being an 'inferiority complex' as such, since in many ways the opposite true (esp. morally); I think they often see hockey as "their" game, so-called, and the Leafz are a perennial loser, so they are angry. In all Cdn NHL cities the hockey team is by far the main sports team, which is another reason why they are tight asses about winning. As a Cdn fan of a US team it's embarrassing sometimes... Oh well...

Nope, put him in. The way Flip played, they won't consider sitting him. It's b/w Sammy and Hudler and I have a feeling that though Hudler played well too, they might go with Sammy simply cuz he's bigger (not that he plays big) and since he's a right-handed shot on the point.

Your right that we shouldn't take Calgary lightly--they likely aren't going to allow themselves to be dominated twice in a row. We might have scored on 10 other chances but got robbed by Kipper--we beat them in every category, luck notwithstanding. It was a great win, time for Game two...
