The spin so far out looked silly.

No, you can't. Assuming the play is on side, and the guy is not in the crease, the ref can't tell a guy where to stand. Screening the goalie is a time-honored tactic; waving your hands in front of him is a joke you pull on your buddies in practice.
-
You aren't getting the idea. A player can stand in front of the goalie in an effort to deflect pucks as well as try to screen the goalie. Waving your hand in front of the his face serves no other purpose but to block his view and it looks ridiculously bush league. Excellent call by the ref.
-
Putting your hand in front of the goalie's view like that is bus©h league. Good call. We have to draw the line here. You can stand in front but waving is ridiculous. It's goaltender interference: that's why Kipper was hacking away like that--I don't blame him. I stood to gain in my fantasy league if that goal counted but I just think we can't tolerate this crap.

How they pronounce "Datsyuk" in Calgary: ...Oh NO! NO! NO! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
-
Any way you slice it, spam is just, well, spam... I think Eva is right here though, I think it's just a matter of time before Hudler starts to produce as he has in the past. Huds may not be strong in the corners but he has the quickest pivot along the boards this side of Datsyuk.

The funny thing is, perhaps it's the blind loyalty that is keeping the leafs down. If these people wouldn't be so ready to still pay big money for tickets and everything else despite chronically being known as "Loserville," perhaps the financial pressure might force some changes to be made. To me, it's dumb to want to pay for an inferior product year after year. So no, maybe Leafs fans don't deserve better.

Well you can't win 'em all... It wasn't a bad effort given that they were on back to back's at the end of a road trip. Maybe a bit of fatigue crept in and then with the Don Vancouver third period...

Crosby didn't take him down in the corner, he fell down on him. Criticism isn't necessarily blind hate if you give reasons. I'm just pointing out the obvious (guys like you need it) that it's cheap as hell to give a little mini crosscheck at the bench where there is no chance of being taken to task for it. Everybody including Crosby knew he wanted no part of Getzlaf. The fact that this non-event is headline news shows the blind love for Crosby--oooooh Sid got into a fight now he's a real badass--well not with real tough guys, he isn't. Why would I be jealous of Crosby when I have the best all around player in the world on my team in Pavel Datsyuk.
-
Ha Ha Crosby's all tough with a tough player near the safety of the bench. What's with making this the top headline on the NHL?

Franzen will play tonight; Hudler will also
dicksmack replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I say play Hudler with at least one other skilled offensive player that he's gelled with in the past on his line or trade him, as his offensive talent is wasted. Hudler should be on the second pp unit. I would give him a chance to re-adjust to the NHL first before trading him. If he were to be traded to the Eastern Conf., he'd be ripping it up in no time. We might get a decent player in return for Huds or a draft pick. I predict (and hope) though, that Hudler will step up to the second line and pp unit as a result of the inevitable minor injuries and slumps (ie. Bert) we'll face this year and will re-establish himself in the D. -
Frankly, I'm tired of all this Ozzy bashing... He can play on my team anytime ! (We play at Forest Glade Arena Saturday nights at 1am --BYOB)
-
Well he didn't say he 's a good goalie...
-
What do Jane Mansfield and Nefertiti and Jakub Kindl have in common? Answer: well known busts...

What a joke

In this period you mean?

I get that some other cities' fans might resent the whole "Hockeytown" thing but other than that this gal is spewing mindless hate. Aside from Franzen, we don't have any known soft players. The whole "the Wings play boring hockey" thing really amuses me because it's blatant jealousy. If you don't like watching some of the most skilled players in the world and a big hit from Kronwall or Stuart you just don't like hockey. This chick clearly is a non-journalist who wrote a non-article.

Hockey is what it is, kind of a niche sport compared to the NBA and NFL. I definitely think it will become more diverse and that's ok but I don't see it reaching the point where there's anywhere near more non-whites than whites and that's ok too. More white folks are into hockey and that's just the way it is and how it will be.
-

I agree totally. If you can play, you're welcome on my team, period.

It was clearly an elbow to the face. I thought the league was going to crack down on this stuff...? It's not like there was an attempt to injure here, Fistric was just careless with his elbow. If anybody here has taken one of the new armored elbow pad caps off the noggin, you know that you can really get hurt. To me, as with high sticking calls, a player's apparent intentions are absolutely irrelevant. And besides, I have Mule on my fantasy team dammit...
-
Can't watch the game... How does Kindl look? I see he's -2.
-
But Datsyuk isn't even the best defensive forward on his team... oh wait... Naysayers may have had a point with one Selke being a lark but three? Nope. It's official... This latest endorsement shows the continuing respect the hockey writers have for Pavel's defensive game as well as his puck thievery. In terms of his approach to the game (not his greatness) Bobby Orr was the first player to peerlessly use his offensive skills to play defense (stickhandling out of trouble, slowing the game down or counter-attacking to force the attacking team to play defense). Pavel is peerless at this type of thing today. Now, I not comparing Orr to Datsyuk in any other way but to spotlight that a great offensive player can defend in a non-traditional way that is more effective than his "shut down" types of contemporaries. How dare I use Datsyuk and Orr in the same sentence? I just did... but strictly in terms of some of the aspects of their approach to defense through offense.
-
I was about to say nobody would want a bona fide bust (yes, I called it years ago) like Kindl but then again we are talking about the Maple Leafs here . Pass on Kaberle... we don't need a soft pp specialist dman who doesn't like to shoot from the point, t dman.

I have no problem with Chi winning the cup if they do cuz this is their big shot at it before reckoning with the cap next year. But Go Habs!

GO HABS! Crosby was dominated.
