Hudler? Hell yes... by all means I'd welcome him back. Many here thought the same about Bertuzzi after he left for more money with the Ducks. When think of Hudler, I remember the time in Vancouver that the Van announcers were gushing over Alex Edler, saying that he had unlimited potential and was one of the best young defensemen in the NHL. Well, Hudler promptly walked around Edler like he was waiting for a bus and just roofed it on Luongo. If I could get more than double my salary at another job, I'd take it in a heart beat.

Clearly, he went to the KHL for the $... Though I'd take him back in a heartbeat, if he returns and the Wings turn around and trade him for economic reasons (cap hit), Hudler must understand because he has just done the same damn thing. But I think the Wings will definitely keep him if they can work him under the cap. That little bugger has some serious skill.

I saw Panik play in his debut for the Windsor Spitfires--4points and he was dominant! He's pretty big too...

Personally, I hope the Wings hang in there with Leino. He needs to adjust to the NHL and clearly needs to gain some strength and work on his skating. He's shown flashes of why he's been highly regarded by the Wings' brass and I think he will be an asset in time. I like the way he takes the puck to the net from down low and can come up with pucks in the corners when he's on his game. Not to compare the two players but Hudler overcame some similar issues to become a damn good NHLer (now a KHLer!). Yes, I'm aware that Hudler tore up the AHL and probably had more talent but Leino wasn't the Finnish League's MVP for nothing. If he gets sent down for not making the most of his chance with the Wings, so be it but I think he'll be back this season and doing well!

ZDH with Lids/Raf= 1st pp unit... Though Z and Pavel were separated at times, this has been our best pp set for awhile. People are apt to minimize Hudler's contributions due to resentment--it's understandable but his playmaking skill was third on the team after Hank and Pavel and contributed to puck possession/offense game in and game out.

Yes sir... Hudler was THE key to the second pp unit--he owned the puck along the boards with that quick pivot and as you say flat out produced offensively.

Bert scored one fluke and one nice goal. While it was nice to see him all smiles, I still thought: "big deal..."

Datsyuk is more of a playmaker than a scorer. He's been dangerous and producing quality chances but has been snakebitten so far, no question--but so have the recipients of those sweet passes. Datsyuk is never invisible on the ice--he's always going to do something amazing, offensively or defensively to make even a casual observer say "holy s***! who is that guy! Having said that, he does need to step it up. Particularly, his wrist shot seems off so far. I think as he's a slow starter, he will pick it up and return to form. Aside from Holmstrom, the whole team is struggling so it's really just a phase. I'm not sure if it's stupidity or hate that motivates someone to say that Datsyuk is over the hill or should be traded. But if he was traded to the East, playing in a less than defensive system, he'd challenge for the scoring title.

Bulls***. He'll be back well before the playoffs. But as with other guys just back from ACL re-construction, don't expect much.

I disagree. He may be in a funk right now but he is good at winning puck battles and goes right to the net. Give him a chance.
