  1. This is the thing, I think. Yeah, you have expectations because they usually win. Expectations can kill you. They can mess you up when you least expect it.

One more time. The Wings owe us nothing. They will have bad nights. They may even have bad weeks/months/seasons. But they owe us nothing. They only owe themselves, since they're the ones who truly suffer for their ineptitude.

What I'd like to see happen is that all the fans here who say they're out for the season because of their play tonight actually believe that and don't come back. If you think they're that bad, fine. Stick to your word and stay the hell away. It's bad enough watching them lose like this when you know what their potential is. The last thing I'm looking for here is a Death Watch.

I never said I don't wanna watch them, I will continue watching every game like I've been doing for the last 10 years (I moved here from Europe). I guess it's my bad for expecting a complete game from this team

  2. Congrats, you're not spoiled! No, you're something else much worse than spoiled.

I've had season tickets for the last 8 years, I have the right to be frustrated with their play. And by phoning it in, I thought you meant giving up, not losing on purpose, I'd have to be retarded to actually think that. I sure hope they will right the ship, but so far this team has disappointed, let's be realistic about it.

  3. In other words you think they're phoning it in.

Pretty much. I'm not a spoiled fan because I'm used to them winning. They're the ones that made all the fans have certain expectations. Look at how they played in Sweden, falling asleep as a team because they think they're entitled to their wins just cause they're the Red Wings. I'd like to see them have 60 minute effort on a regular basis.

  4. Definition of a spoiled fan.

This happens less to us than to anyone else. And we act like we're the Atlanta Thrashers.

Yes, the loss hurts. Grow the f*** up. It happens.

Again, I understand teams lose and I accept that, but I'd like to see that they actually try out there. I'm not a spoiled fan, I just expect better from this team and I'm sure Babcock is too

  5. In all sincerity I would like to express my thanks to everyone here for there tolerance of alternative viewpoints- as painful as it is at my lowest point in ths postseason. I hope you all are still as gracious after Pens win this thing in Detroit. Great series.

    You sir are delusional

  6. -- I have a feeling Staal's shorthanded goal last night may have grabbed not just the game, but the series for the

Pens. That's just a feeling. At that point, Detroit went from being up a goal and on the power play, to seeing the

lead go up in smoke. The mental letdown can't be overestimated.

--I feel the pressure is more on the Wings to win Saturday Night, Datsyuk or no Datsyuk. Detroit must hold here or

face returning on the verge to the Igloo which has not been kind to them -- especially Osgood of all people. Should

the Pens lose they're on the verge, but at least they know they get the next one at home.

--This series is just what a lot of us hoped -- including a lot of arguing back and forth about who's gotten the breaks,

who's got the calls (or not) etc. etc. etc. Also accusations of cheap shots by both sides. Last year lacked the heat,

as it was really about the aw-shucks-glad-to-be-here Pens looking up at the veteran champs.

--Datsyuk's back -- but maybe Sid is too, after finally breaking the scoring drought.

--For some reason the name "Fedotenko" keeps popping into my head for Saturday.

Anyway, I'm sure a lot of you here will disagree with my point of view. Please feel free to fire away...

    FAIL

  7. We're still winning the Cup, guys! CALM DOWN!! Let them have their (very) shotty games. We had a few against Anaheim. Let em play poorly.. rest up.. and come out FIRED UP in Detroit so the Pens don't even know what HIT them. Let Dats rest some more so he will be even more of a firecracker when he comes out. It'll be OKAY.

Well at least the glass is half full for someone !!:ph34r:

  8. I used to think the NBA was laughable for its referees, now after watching these playoffs (not only the Wings games), I'm beginning to think the NHL takes the cake when it comes to inconsistent and biased refereeing. What is a penalty in the first period, for some reason is not called in the third, depending on the score. I'm sick of it and it's ruining this great game. However, I honestly don't think that there are referees fixing games for personal gain. Can you imagine the fallout if someone has evidence of league officials tampering with the referees to extend or influence a series ???
