Jesus. I didn't see this at the time, but my god... what an idiot. He'd have to punctuate the statement with a shotgun blast to make it even slightly intimidating.

Damn empty seats...

He's just a PUTZ. Stop asking questions and roll with it.

If there are any revenge matches in future playoffs, they will definitely be good.

Kronwall's actually taller, with similiar weight. Other than that, I fully agree. I've missed Lebda.

Defensive forward?

If Lang was going to show up, I think he'd have done it by now. As time goes on, it will become more and more difficult for him to turn his game up as a result of fatigue and the mental awareness that he IS doing poorly. I wish he would, of course, but I've pretty much given up hope on Langer.

Yeah, we'll never make it out. Let's fire Holland.

This is the dumbest ****** thread I have seen on LGW in weeks. Let me set this straight. These are two great teams about to play great hockey. They've gone back and forth in the past, as all teams do, and it has absolutely no effect on the game that we will see tomorrow night. So many variables are involved that nobody can reliably predict the exact outcome of the games we will be treated to, from physicality to goals scored to which goaltender outdoes the other. These men are paid athletes and coaches worth millions; nobody took anybody lightly. The only true answer to the argument we're having is to watch the goddamn hockey and ENJOY IT. One team will move on and one team will not. We can talk later about why. That said, all this tight-assed half-hidden sniping at one another got old by page two. So you can come up with a more elaborate insult than the next guy. Big deal. Shut up and move on.

I'm really hoping for a Sabres-Senators rematch. Ottawa got humiliated, they must want blood. Emery can compete with Brodeur and his team's better offensively. Miller can lead the Sabres just about anywhere.

TSN reporting Lebda has suffered concussion

SARCASM, people. Do you speak it? -
Imagine if we'd just lost to Edmonton again. That'd be the feeling. Still, while it makes you feel bad for them, it makes me celebrate. Maybe there is some sort of karma in the NHL. Cheap nasty hockey hasn't paid off tonight.

I wonder what smartass picked that one.

If they lose the next game, all bets are off. It'd be time to try anything at all for a momentum change.

The only serious mistake Schneider made led directly to the Tanguay goal. Alex was HIS guy on the far post, but Mat played the pass, not the man. End result is a goal, despite how quickly Dom moved laterally and almost saved it. That said, his excellent offensive showing and physicality balances this equation, so I'm not griping or anything.

I think Babs will probably feel more comfortable with the two-way abilities and greater speed Flip brings in, considering the level of our opposition. Only if our offense totally chokes should someone sit for Hudler. Pains me to type that, because I like the guy.

I miss Hank. I'm going to cry when he gets out there and plays. Just a bit. In a manly way.

I like Nashville for this one, particularly for the reason you mentioned, Legionnaire. Third lines. If Thornton shuts down for the post-season, you've basically got a three-line team scrapping with a one-line team, and in playoff hockey that's a very difficult position to be in. Even if Joe does show up, I still like Nashville's defence corps more than SJ. I won't exactly make a prediction, but I like Nashville here, and I've got faith in them.

We've got Hudler. With more icetime, his chances of putting up those stats increase dramatically.

I started studying other languages. Then I realized that I hated the non-English method of handling case and gender, so by not learning his language, I have actually become more like Lang by being lazy. The sucking, however, he retains for himself.

I think too many of these rumors feed on each other. You see one saying that somebody somewhere is unhappy with Babcock and then three more pop up, and suddenly Yzerman is coming out of retirement to skate in the playoffs, he'll take Pavel's spot after he leaves out of dissatisfaction with Babcock, Shanny's on his way back, and Redmond is being hired as the new head coach. Like everyone else, I'm curious to figure out how Hull knows who Datsyuk is friends with, how he feels about Babcock, and where he wants to sign.

Oh, man. Lidstrom's out a game? This should be great.
-
A goalie in the shootout? Brilliant! Next time instead of dropping that last point because of our lame shooters, we can put Ozzie out there to finish things off for us.
-
I can't bring myself to really make a prediction. I just miss Hank.

The same logic used for the Edmonton series last year can be applied to the San Jose series this year. Sure, they kicked our asses a couple of times this season, games during which we played terrible, undisciplined hockey and slacked on the PK. We've made some nice deadline moves a la Edmonton of last year, and who knows how a matchup would work out for us? Playoffs are a different type of hockey. Maybe all that youth will crumble, or maybe they'll come alive and sweep us. No way to know, all the playoff-bound teams from the West are excellent. Bottom line is, they're just as scared of the Red Wings as the Red Wings are of them. And that's probably not very much. Everyone wants the win, and everyone is willing to go through any opponent to get there.
