Canucks trade Schneider to Devils for 9th overall pick
Nhurdi replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
First i'm going to say this is a total rumor not backed up by anything yet. But a co-worker at work said Bill Watters tweeted or posted something along the lines that Schneider asked for a trade because his wife/gfriend was doing in-appropriate things with Kessler. I'm no good with Twitter so couldn't find a link to back it up which is why this is totally a rumor. I'm sure some of you could track it down much faster than I if it truly does exist. This is all I could find. Bill Watters @RealBillWatters 12h Schneider 's exit from Vancouver was precipitated by off ice issues, rather than goaltending and financial as outlined in Gillis'rationale. -
hmmm Cleary. Henrik Zetterberg 14gp, 4g, 8a, 12p, +3, 8 PIM, 1 PP, 0SH, 1GW, 58S, 6.9S% Daniel Cleary 14gp, 4gp, 6a, 10p, -1, 2 PIM, 1PP, 0SH, 0GW, 20S, 20S% Pavel Datsyuk 14gp, 3g, 6a, 9p, +2, 4 PIM, 0PP, 0SH, 0GW, 39S, 7.7S% I was all for letting him go before the playoffs, but given his performance i'm not so sure. Granted 3 Years at 3 Mill i'm not comfortable with but when it mattered only Zetterberg provided more points and only Drew Miller had a better S%. I don't give a rats ass if we sneak in at 8th spot and he does f*** all if he scores at that rate in the playoffs. We don't play for Presidents Trophies, we play for the cup.

Perhaps, but then trade him for like a 6th round pick or something to someone that needs help reaching the floor. I'm not saying be picky about it in the least. If anything this just goes to show you how important it is to do shorter term contracts if there is any doubt at all about the player.
-
Like said if you live in the Vancouver region and have seen him play you don't want him. Although talented he is prone to bone head plays so much that we would be calling for his head 2 months in if not sooner. We thought it was just a hicup but it's been going on for 2 years so it's not. You have to think there is a reason Vancouver was dangling him instead of others. They wanted to get out of that contract before the NTC kicked in.

Anyone in Vancouver knew that Ballard wouldn't be back. I'm a little surprised that he wasn't traded or bought out though given vancouvers cap issues. I would imagine one of those is the end goal.
-
Is there a page some place that shows all the buyouts in one place?
-
Ya I have heard that on the radio, also heard the way I mentioned. Either way I don't really care. Should be more interesting though if it happens. To my knowledge the hiring hasn't been actually confirmed yet.

Vancouver already wasn't going to do as well the next season as previous ones due to the new alignment. The division they have been in is a joke. As for all the players wanting trades, perhaps that is the plan, it seems half the damn team has no trade or no movement clauses. Some are saying though that this is a decision by Gillis to deflect attention from himself. Come the regular season no one is gonna even mention his name.... we will be to busy with Torts.

Calder Cup Finals Game 1 GDT - Grand Rapids Griffins @ Syracuse Crunch

damn i'll be at a family BBQ with no chance to watch. Lets hope they come out strong! -
A couple points from my train of thought on this. The problem is inflation. Franzen at his cap hit looks nice now and even more so a few years from now if he can keep his production at a level that he is at. Sign a new guy now and the inflation from others will price them higher than what Franzen makes now. Ryan O'Reilly for instance, every scrub in the league is going to cite that contract as to why they need to make 5 mill per season. So while Pascal may make 1.5 now, i'm confident his contract next year will be higher than Franzen's unless he takes a home team discount. If he leaves town for more money I'm confident he will learn his success was largely due to who he played with. Just like years past with all the players that left the Sedin line (Anson Carter, Taylor Pyatt) or any line with great talent.

Raymond is fast, but he doesn't go to the net, is soft in the corners and brings nothing to the table come the playoffs. I wouldn't touch him.

Potential Players being Bought Out This Summer
Nhurdi replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
most the media in Vancouver are saying that Booth will not be bought out. Ballard is a strong possibility although with a new coach you never know. Vancouver has to do something though to get under the cap. -

Lets not pull a nucks and complain about s***. It's over and it's time to move on to game 7. Id like to see a stronger effort from Smith and the first two lines Wednesday eve. -
That article is pretty funny.

Red Wings to be in an Eastern conference in latest NHL/NHLPA proposal
Nhurdi replied to a topic in General
I want it as well. Time will tell though. -
It's such a fundamental change that I myself cannot see it occurring. It's not just the arenas of the NHL cities, it's the arenas of all North American Hockey rinks that would come into question. Yes it's true that CHL, AHL, WHL and even pewee hockey rinks wouldn't have to change but a new pressure would be put on them to change. If we are considering outlandish ideas to create more space, why not simply drop the amount of skaters to 3 forwards and 1 D for a total of 4 per side. Heck 2 forwards and 2 D, I don't care..... and yes i'm kidding.
-
I like Fistric, I recall when he was on the vancouver giants WHL team as a rookie at age 16 i believe. The other team hit a Giant player and injured him so a brawl broke out on the ice. Being down a man it was 6 vs 5.... yes the goalies fought too. Fistric beat up his first person, then proceeded to find the spare and kicked his ass too. Fan favorite instantly.

NHL submits offer to NHLPA - **Suspension Warning Post #70 & #273*
Nhurdi replied to Jedi's topic in General
First if your not logged in when you read threads the layout is all messed up. Anyway's did anyone notice the cap is reduced to 60 million the second year. With that in mind has anyone actually checked out capgeek to see how many teams are screwed. Minnie for example has 16 players under contract for 56.9 million. They get a buyout but that could mean alot of decent players available that year around the league. Vancouver I think is worse off currently. -
I wonder if they will be addressing these signing bonuses like this in the next cba. I do think if it's not addressed it's another tactic big market teams can use to sign players from smaller market teams. I wonder if the league will approve the contract.

http://phlyinhigh.blogspot.ca/2012/07/shea-webers-potential-contract-breakdown.html First four seasons (2012-'13 through 2015-'16) $1 million per year w/ 13M signing bonus - Next two seasons (2016-'17 through 2017-'18) $4 million per w/ 8M signing bonus - Next four seasons (2018-'19 through 2021-'22) $6 million per - Following year (2022-'23) $3 million per - Last three seasons (2023-'24 through 2025-'26) $1 million per This contract is odd, the signing bonus's i don't understand, why sign for 1 mill with a 13 mill bonus? Is there a reason for that?

At a Canucks game beer is like 7 to 8 bucks a beer. I'm pretty sure I could have my $35 bucks worth and be totally fine in 3.5 hours. Also to assume everyone will binge drink is a bit harsh and unfair don't you think. As for how to get home, taxi, public transit, designated driver to name a few. You can drink responsibly and have fun, don't make it sound like you can't.
-
I'm not sure why the flyers didn't have someone just come back to their own zone then build up speed through the neutral zone and then have the D guy blast it down the ice and try to beat the icing. Or do a high flip with the puck. If they can out man that guy in the back quickly they should be able to recover. Then again I guess it depends on what TB does at that point.

Lol, wonder if I can find that video.

Seems a bit much. To go back the midget comment. I already mentioned that in previous threads. But how is a guy who is like Chara sized supposed to check a guy who is 5 foot 8. I'm not sure but it's gonna be hilarious to watch when it gets there.

If I wasn't piss poor id love to get my hands on something. He is one of my favorite players of all time.
