We call him Tubby, he seemed to do better once he gained a little weight back. Good player though if he could be had for cheap. Don't see him with Detroit though.

Ryan Getzlaf taunts silver-medal-winning Anaheim Ducks teammate Bobby

Nice Video. Love funny finds like these. -
TSN will always favor a Canadian Team. If they back Vancouver this year big deal. With that said to say that Vancouver didn't improve over last year is probably fool hardy. They need to trade Bieska to free up cap space, I think they overpaid for Malhotra but they got Hamhuis for a good price considering what the other teams payed for their D guys IMO. They were #2 for goals last year and I don't believe they lost any big contributors to that. They had a big number of man games lost last year as well. They addressed the Defence and improved on that I believe. I do think Luongo is overpaid and over rated and predict he will be traded in the next 3 years or so Unless Schneider doesn't pan out. Burrows is out for an extended time with surgery this year too. Anyways my point being is that Vancouver now reminds me of Detroit some in the mid 90's. They are good but can't quite pull it together yet in the playoffs. Will that come, probably. Is it guaranteed, no.

Exactly why i said "curious on the general feelings towards the idea". I like the player, i fully realize it's not a possibility due to $ unless we moved someone which is not likely. So other than the 5 mill what are your thoughts on him?

What do you all think about possibly adding Paul Martin? Just curious on the general feelings towards the idea. As for how busy, I don't think it will be too busy. Pretty much what mindfly said.

Raised in southern Alberta where I didn't have a NHL team and the only hockey I saw was Calgary. When Calgary won the cup in 89 I figured it had to be a setup. Gravitated to Detroit shortly after mainly due to Hockey games on consoles. They were just so good in the game so I started watching them on satellite at the time. Not to mention I was older and could see what good hockey was. Stevie Y was one of my most favorite players and I remember those years with Burr, Probert, Cheveldae to name a few. Additionally I'm the only one in my family that watches hockey so this wasn't passed down.

No thank you.

I just watched that episode.... EPIC show!

Konopka looks like a fine player from what I have seen. Would love to have him with us. With that said I just have a feeling that it won't happen.

Keep up the good work.

Adam Burish: Chris Pronger Is The Biggest Idiot In The League
Nhurdi replied to jeff48109's topic in General
It would be pretty funny to trade Burish to the same division that Pronger is in or hell even the same team. Then watch the fireworks every game. -
I always enjoy a good hipcheck.

I like that enthusiasm. WOOT!

Does anyone know if the owners of Chicago would even consider paying these guys big money to play in the AHL? Allot of people say waive them to clear space but they still have to be paid and I can't see a owner going, sure 7 million here for the AHL, another 5 mill here for the AHL.

Yes please explain your math on how this works out. I'm curious.

Bertuzzi states he will either stay with wings or retire
Nhurdi replied to Lidstrom for life's topic in General
Couple things. Bert if he signs for 1.5 or less I would agree too. He is still talented enough to put up some points, just wish he could iron out a few kinks a little. Helm will get a bigger raise than most think i believe. I can honestly see a team putting in a offer sheet for him. No question in my mind he will be paid more than Miller or Eaves. Most free agents people are mentioning to be signed are due for big raises like Crymson said. We need to be realistic about the $ we have and what these players will ask for. With any luck we will have a healthy year, players will gel and we will do better overall with what I presume to be a very similar roster. -
My avatar since I joined the site pretty much says it all. His hip checks were awesome and he was a beast. Always been one of my favorite D men and I even named my truck after him. Great clip, thanks for the awesome thread. Cheers Vladdy!

Given my team(s) are not in the playoffs any longer I am not going for Chicago. I would prefer Philly wins.
-
Hopefully Philly can be on the positive side of the 1 goal game. lol
-
Hopefully he spends the next two years training his replacement.

Actually you can, Rich Peverly played on the second line for Atlanta. He was paid $487,500 and got 22g, 33a for 55pts. Also Afinogenov on Atlanta played on the same line, made $800k and got 24g, 37a for 61pts. Thats just two but i'm sure I can find more. Granted I think he was a good deal for 1.5 million and won't deny that. But it all comes down to cost and what he does on the team. PK, PP and intangibles.

Hey anything to get under Chicago's skin I say.

According to Cap Geek's bargain hunter Bertuzzi was #4 for bargain on the team. Wanna know who was first. Patrick Eaves for a mere $22,727 per point. Daren Helm was second, $24,977 per point. Drew Miller was third, $27,632 per point. Bert in fourth, $34,091 per point. Any ways check it out as it's a pretty cool page. http://www.capgeek.com/bargain_hunter.php

Lol, nice one Marcus. I just think the size of the players and the gear is pretty surprising. I guess when it changes slowly over time you don't notice it as much but when you watch the old clips just after seeing a game... wow.
