Great deal for both teams. I firmly believe Christianson can be a 70-80 point centre if given the right environment. I'd take him.

It's possible Kenny is talking with Atlanta still. But probably for Holik.

TSN is notorious for making sure it's 100% before reporting it. It's for that reason that I wait to hear from them before I know it's true.

We could have had Malone last year for peanuts (calm down Grigorenko!). I'm still upset that we didn't. I don't think the Pens are going to deal him now. He's been pretty good for them lately. P.S. A buddy of mine said he heard a rumor on the Fan590 that Malkin is as good as gone in a couple of years. Rumors have it that he wants to be the star of his own team. I guess LA is where he wants to go.

No way Grigs goes to LA. They don't have nearly enough Krispy Kreams and Jack-in-the-Box franchises out there. Grigs likey eaty!

I would love Cams on this team! Hopefully we can borrow some of Lou's kool-aid and the Kings will deal him for little.

I think he will. But it will probably be along the lines of a Fedetenko (which I wouldn't mind in the least) and a veteran dman like Stuart. PS - Remember everyone, as long as you are engaged in talks, you can still make a deal beyond 3:00 pm EST. EDIT: I swear that I just read this: http://www.fanatique.ca/special-transactions.php If my 'prediction' comes true I'm buying a lottery ticket. I'd be more than happy with picking up Fedetenko and Stuart.

I just hope the Sharks don't ship off Marleau for a top scorer. It's amazing that San Jose has been winning so much with such a horrible offense. Whatever happens, I hope that teams offense doesn't wake up.

Ugh! Everytime I think of Chevalcrap I'm reminded of that horrible 100 foot, Gilmour goal he let in during the Leafs-Wings '93 matchup. That let the Leafs back in the game where they eventually took a 3 games to 2 lead. Man was he garbage. If we had any other goalie in the league I think we would have won the Cup that year.

TSN is saying that sources are strong that Montreal and Ottawa are the only teams in the Hossa hunt right now.

I don't think Feds will be with AO. Ovechkin's playing great with Backstrom right now. With each trade not including Hossa I gotta believe we're going to land him. But I think the Wings are going to get a bigname before the day is done.

    Martin Lapointe was Traded

I'm sure it has more to do with the old-school rules of never dealing with an inter-division rival.

I have to agree. I think McGuire is being harsh when he says the Wings are in 'Big Trouble' but I'm not convinced that Howard is the answer or that we don't need secondary scoring. But I'm hard pressed not to agree that McGuire isn't a dick. I hate the way he yells into the microphone, I hate his stupid "MONSTER!" comments and I think he has an unhealthy crush on Phaneuf. And I hear he smells.

Hossa Sweepstakes down to four teams?

My apologies. But it can be irritating when people use sarastic emoticons just to be difficult with other members. And I don't share your feelings about Howard. He's given no indication that he can be a starter in the NHL yet. Yes, he's had some excellent, albiet brief, moments with the Wings, but he still has lots of work to do and I don't find his future to be that foreseeable at this time.

Hossa Sweepstakes down to four teams?

So what does your magic eight-ball tell you what our goaltending will look like in 2011-2012? Judging by your sarcactic response you seem to be very confident that Howard will be the guy. Or does your taro-cards read that we'll have Dipeitro in net? I'm going to use my own amazing skills and predict the future and say that you didn't read where I wrote:

Hossa Sweepstakes down to four teams?

I just did some quick number crunching and the Wings can more than afford Hossa at $7.5M per year as well as Zetts for the same amount. The big year where things could get tight is in 2011-12 when they'd have 6 players under contract (Dats, Zetts, Hossa, Lids -guessing that he continues playing - Rafalski and Kronwall). We'd have an estimated $38M for those 6 players. Kenny (or Stevie - who knows) would have his work cut out for him in filling out the roster. But by then, who knows who we have in our system? But in all seriousness, what teams out there have more than 2 scoring lines? Almost none. Only Carolina comes to mind. Beyond that, you're doing very well for yourself if you have 2 good scoring lines and 3-4 good dmen. We have that in spades. The rest can be filled in with youngsters. The only real issue is goaltending. But if Howard continues to progress I don't see why our defense can't turn good goaltending into great goaltending like this year. EDIT: Dominator, I read that Yahoo rumour about Richards this morning as well. I think that deal makes great sense for both clubs and could easily be done today. But as a Wings fan, I'd HATE to see Richards go to the Stars. The West would become that much tougher.
