    Pronger

thanks for the support, damn noobz. Your quote is hilarious, it answers almost every question we continually recycle over and over!

    Pronger

When did I EVER mention Claude Lemieux? Pronger is not even close to being as hated by Wings fans as Lemieux was. You're an idiot.

    Pronger

I know it is unlikely, but someday in his career he should be wearing a winged wheel. Hey, ya never know, Chelly once said he'd never be a wing and now he's been one for nearly 8 years.

    Holmstrom re-signed for 3 years, $6M (est.)

sweet deal, glad to keep ya around Homer!

    Forsberg unhappy about trade

yeah this was all PR, he didn't want to leave but im sure he's excited to go to a team that has a strong chance to get to the finals. Oh, and they got a 3rd rounder as well.

Would we sign biron this summer

Lets sit back here and realize something, Buffalo is at the top of the standings in the NHL. Do you really think they plan on trading one of the best backups(starter in waiting) leading into the playoffs? Yeah right, they'll keep him because Miller, as good as he is, is a goalie and injuries do happen. Trust me, unless someone wants to deal away their future, Biron will be in Buffalo until July. I certainly don't feel like dealing osgood and a 1st rounder for a backup. I wouldn't even give them a 1st rounder.

New York Daily News says Schneider is available?

no thanks, Schneider is too much a key player on this team.

    Forsberg trade close

Hey, you all know I was completely against dealing someone like Kindl for anybody. So if what you're saying was the type of package we would have had to give up to get Foppa, I say "Enjoy him while you have him Nashville!" This is not Forsberg in his prime. Of course he still is a great player, but not worth that type of a package in my opinion, especially if you could potentially lose him as an UFA after the season.

Shane Doan close to new contract

No offense to Cory Cross, but we need to make a bigger move than that this year! If Holland pulls another move like that, I will be

Shane Doan close to new contract

come on people, lets get past this, we need to make a pitch for Guerin!

TSN: Red Wings interested in Bertuzzi

grow up man, he took a cheap shot that ultimately cost him. You dont think Chelly ever took a cheap shot on anyone? He might not have hurt them like Bertuzzi did, but to not watch the wings because we acquire Bertuzzi is ridiculous. I remember when we traded for Chelly so many people said that they would never watch the wings, and look what happened, Chelly ended up playing for us for 7 years. Although I dont think we should give up too much to get Bert, he would be a HUGE addition for the playoffs.

TSN: Red Wings interested in Bertuzzi

I would say lets wait til he's healthy and how he produces. A 1st rounder and a prospect seems kind of steep for a playoff rental. Granted, the type of player Bertuzzi is would be solid in the playoffs, I would say a 1st rounder should suffice. It pains me to deal away a 1st rounder, even for someone like Bertuzzi because that is our future we're dealing away.

    Jason Allison

well I sure hope he doesn't come here, like many others have said, we have WAYYYY too many centers

    Sean Avery traded to Rangers

no offense man, but taking the day off for the NHL trading deadline? Wow. How would your boss respond to that? Its not like you can't check up on the updates while at work.

Nikolai Zherdev on the Trade Block

I agree with nearly everything you said, except trading Kindl. I really think this is a guy we should not consider trading, he's only 19, he's big, and he's really developing well in the OHL. If we traded our 1st round pick AND Kindl, I wouldn't be happy at all. I think all of the other prospects you mentioned would be fine, but we need Kindl in our system because as a whole, our farm system lacks size. I'm not saying Kindl is the second coming of Lidstrom, but he will likely be a solid #2 D man in a few years along with Kronwall, and I think he could take Schneider's spot very nicely.

Nikolai Zherdev on the Trade Block

Zherdev is definitely having an off-year, but the upside to this guy is huge and he would be under contract for 2 years beyond this season. I would take him in a heartbeat. I dont know what I would give up, he was the 4th overall pick in 2003, so I am going to assume Columbus will want some good quality in return, like a first rounder and a prospect. That is a steep price, but like I said, he has HUGE upside.
  19. yzerman&thewings=CUP

    Who's taking the Captain's spot?

oh no no no, Mitch Albom reported in his article this morning that Steve Thomas was brought in to give the Wings some veteran leadership :rotflmao:

    Anson Carter to the Wild

ill trust heaton on this. Geez the Wild sure have been busy. With the addition of Kim Johnsson, Mark Parrish, Pavol Demitra, Keith Carney, and the retention of Gaborik this team looks pretty different. However, this might make some trades occur because the Wild will be pushing $40 million in payroll, which doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room.

    Who's coming up?

Kindl probably will spend one more year in juniors since the 3-year contract he signed does not have to go into effect until he goes to GR or detroit. GM Jim Nill said on redwingscentral that he most likely wont begin his contract until the 2007-2008 season. I think another season in juniors will do him some good.

    MLB Season 2006 thread

thanks for the info, I was just referring to Munson because he was a former first round pick that, even though he made it to the bigs, he never lived up to his potential (3rd overall pick if I remember correctly). You sure know your tigers history, thanks for the update on that. I hope Miller doesn't go the way that Anderson or Greisinger did. I definitely remember Matt Anderson, but yea, if he can't keep control he can't pitch in the bigs.

    MLB Season 2006 thread

this is a great addition, and Mr. Illitch will pay him what he wants. I am really surprised he fell to number 6, so I will definitely take him. I have grown up a tigers fan but never followed them close until late 2003. Why is it that our draft prospects never turned out before Verlander? I know Eric Munson turned out to be a bust, but what other blunders did we have? I was just wondering. I am really excited to be a tigers fan these days! It is also a reason why I am excited to be a Wings fan, there is plenty of prospect talent waiting in the ranks. Does Evan McGrath ring a bell????

Liv likely to jump the pond, but not Grigorenko

Rumored by who? you? Anyways, grigorenko definitely would take $1 million tax-free in russia b/c the max contract here is $850,000 NOT tax-free, but hopefully he'll eventually get over here.

    Grigorenko

sweet, can't wait til he is here next year
