I agree. Skating with the Cup was over the top. He last won it for Edmonton 17 years ago. If he had last won it with them last year, then it's ok to have him skate with it. When you raise the Cup and haven't won it in 13 years, and haven't won it for that city in 17 years, it's just being ridiculous. As for the rest of your comments, I did not see the ceremony so I cannot comment or judge. I do know, however, that the Oilers were trying to out do what the Red Wings did for Yzerman, so I can see them changing it trying to make it classier, etc. which apparently they failed at. I also thought it was disrespectful to not have the current GM (and a former teammate) of his there.

You mention possible chemistry between Lang and his new linemates, but what about Maltby? He certainly has chemistry with Draper, and I'd hate to break that up more than Lang's chemistry.

I think Tomas Holmstrom is one of the most common. Everybody seems to be convinced that it's Thomas! This isn't misspelling, but how about Yzerman? How many people outside of hockey can pronounce his name? Not many that I've met.

I agree. Although the Coyotes are not the classiest organization (which IMO comes from their coach) they did the right thing here. They put family above team and above sport. Not too many organizations can do that. Good for them.

I agree. There are more options in the world than being soft and being gritty. There is an in-between. Those players aren't soft, but they aren't exactly gritty either. If they were, we wouldn't have gotten Bertuzzi.

He'll definitely get it, barring any major injuries. He'll be 35 in May, but this is his 17 year in the league. He's signed through 2011-'12. He's a classy guy, and I've always liked him. (More than I liked Roy, atleast).
