I had to use phonics. I like to think I turned out alright.

I still don't think we're gritty enough to outlast the other teams in a grueling playoff series. Getting one guy won't automatically bring us a Cup. I may have not made myself clear before, but I do not want Lapointe back, specifically. He is gritty, and we need another grit player to compliment Bertuzzi and add more protection for Z and Dats.

I remember seeing it too...I actually might have been the one to post that. On a seperate but related note, we can all thank Tunbo Batman for his interpretation of the Phoenix Coyotes: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40609 Edit: I just noticed that Tunbo Batman was the one to start this thread. I'm beginning to see a pattern here...

We can't help the fact that we're brilliant, ridiculously good looking, and win a ton of hockey games.

You have to respect him for putting family above Stanley Cups. I respect him for it, partly because I know I could never do the same.
-
One thing I'm wondering about next year, is, given Hasek's stellar year, will we re-sign him?
-
I didn't like the end at all. I thought it was a bad ending. I liked the part with Shanny when they threw the water balloons off a balcony. That part was funny.

the official "I am sorry for doubting you Mr. Holland thread"
TheLegend19 replied to brutus's topic in General
I think this thread simply needs to be an attendance taker. For those that doubted Holland, simply post "Present." That being said, Manny4Prez - Present. -
Although initial reactions were negative on the Williams trade, I believe that it will be good for Williams in Chicago. I also think that Calder will do well here. The Bertuzzi trade was the next option after losing Guerin to San Jose. This will really help us come playoff time. EDIT: Are this trades enough to help us win the Cup? No. I do feel, though, that if we re-sign Bertuzzi after this summer and bring back Lapointe we will make a serious run next year. (All of this is 'In My Humble Opinion')

I like those, but I have a problem with putting Lang on the second line. I'd switch Lang and Fippula, IMHO.

What are we going to do with the remains of Bettman in a few years?
-
I'd be OK with that. Although it would be nice to see him back this season for a playoff run. I guess I can wait until next year. Side note: Everyone posts about how they hate Ekland. Who/what is Ekland?

i started smelling it last night.

He couldn't be more right. I commend him for saying that.
-
It's pretty ironic that the day he's dealt, he ends up playing the team he was dealt from. Go Wings.
-
And the better teams get even better. One reason I don't like Holland. Oh well. There's always next season.

I'm Calling It Now...Wings Land Olli Jokinen By 3:00
TheLegend19 replied to TheChosenOne's topic in General
I'm not sure I'm willing to part with Lang yet. He'll be there in the playoffs. -
It looks like Mickey Mouse ears because nobody's wearing it. I don't understand the new trend of having a hockey stick come across the logo, or for that matter, be the logo (Canucks).

Smolinski to Vancouver for 2nd-round pick in '07
TheLegend19 replied to Vancouver Wings Fan's topic in General
They scare me. Why? Because we got wiped from the playoffs so quickly last year, I really feel that lacking grit, it will happen yet again. -
I like that a lot. It looks sharp, especially with the toned-down red and blue.
-
Couldn't have said it better myself. Although, Roenick and Chelios. Just like the good ol' days in Chicago 10 years ago.

The Chicago suburb they are talking about is Buffalo Grove. That's where I live.

Wings acquire Kyle Calder in 3-way deal
TheLegend19 replied to WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH's topic in General
I don't think Kenny would pull a worthless deal. Therefore, I think it's false. -
Where do you see St. Louis in maybe a couple years?
TheLegend19 replied to BeeRYCE's topic in General
Where do I see St. Louis in a few years? Probably right there it is now; on the border of Missouri and Illinois and not too far from the Mississippi River. -
I couldn't agree more. It seems like every team I root for is never busy at the deadline, despite numerous needs. Then, come the off-season they enjoy splurging more than $300 million. (Chicago Cubs)
