I was there on Saturday. I didn't sign it.

I'm debating whether to grow a playoff beard. I grew a beard once before and it did not look good at all. I finally decided I didn't want to look like an idiot anymore so I shaved it. Also, there's a girl I'm into in one of my classes, and I don't want a beard to screw things up. Ideas?

Let's not forget that last year, everybody picked the Wings to beat Edmonton. (Except for the Oilers, themselves, of course).
-
I like it.

It's not superstitious. It's reality. We can't just talk the talk, we have to be willing to walk the walk. Imagine posting "payback's a *****" and then getting our ass handed to us in 4 straight games. It sucks. But the fact that we said "payback's a *****" makes it even worse. I never insinuated that our thoughts or words actually influenced the game. I'm simply say don't speak until we beat them. We can't we just be humble fans?
-
Agreed.

They are so incredibly gorgeous Anyways, I don't think the goalie should have to move. The game takes presedence over any timeout gimmick.

Unusual amount of Playoff tickets still remain

Yzerman isn't lacing on the skates. People identified with him. Now, he's not there. -
Don't speak so soon, please.

TSN's Gord Miller: Datsyuk close to extension?

I don't blame him for hiding from late-April to mid-June. The rest of our team has been hiding then, too. -
The casual fan wants every team to have a chance, and that's why there are 16 team in the playoffs. I agree that winners promote sports, but when it's the same team over and over and over, people get sick of it. They want new teams to win every year. The casual fan hates dynasties because they give up on their own team. It's not all about the Wings. They aren't the savior of the league. If a minor league hockey team from Bumblef*ck, USA went on a 30-game winning streak scoring 10 goals a game, people would rather watch that than an NHL team winning 1-0 in incredibly competitive games (to the diehard fan).

Until they fail a test, yes. And let's not forget, McGwire can never be guilty. If he took steroids and whatever else, that's ok - it was all legal until 2002.
-
First of all, aren't they (the steroid users) innocent until proven guilty? I did not intend to say that the Yankees brought the game back to life. Of course it was the homerun chase. What I meant to say is now that the Yankees have not won in 7 years, the league is doing better than ever. They have had a different winner every year. The casual fans want that. They want to head into the season every October thinking "This is the year the Blackhawks win the Cup." Other fans around the league know that won't happen, but hell, they hold out hope for their own hometown team. Furthermore, why do you think they want 16 teams in the playoffs? Parity. More than half the league makes the playoffs every year. To the diehard fans, that's ridiculous. To the casual fan; it's just what they want.

Funny how the guy who posts this has the username "Wings Dynasty". In all seriousness, I disagree with you completely. I believe the last thing the NHL wants is the Red Wings to win again. It won't sell the game. Look at baseball, in the late '90s, the Yankees won every World Series. Now, the Yankees haven't won since 2000 (haven't even made it since 2003) and baseball is doing better than ever. Parity is a good thing, and that's what every league wants. If the Red Wings win again, people will get sick of it. They figure why support their home team when Detroit is just going to win anyways. People will complain its not fair that Detroit is so good and that they always win.

Ditto.

That is true that he's at the point where he just wants a Cup. He's got the money and the stats, but not the Cup, yet. I think him coming back will depend on the teams' performance in the playoffs. If it's an early exit like last year, I believe he would leave to a team that makes a deep run (Anaheim, San Jose, New Jersey, etc).
-
The not skating as hard may be because of his back. He might not be 100% confident in it yet, and therefore doesn't want to test it too much.
-
I remember when he laid that guy out. But regardless of whether he smiles or not, he just looks unhappy. Bowman never smiled, but he looked happy. Bertuzzi doesn't smile, but he just still doesn't look like he's comfortable out there or on the bench.

Anyone know where I can find a picture of the entire 2007 Wings team?
TheLegend19 replied to a topic in General
I may be wrong, but I believe that the day after the season ends, whether it be playoffs or not, the team comes back to clean out their lockers, etc. I believe that this is when the team photo is taken. -
I actually disagree with you. He looks unhappy on the ice. Every time I've seen him play, although he plays hard, it just seems like he doesn't want to be here. :rotflmao: Edit: Darn smilies.

It can't be. Michigan Stadium holds 107, 501...they've had 112,00+ in there. Edit: I just noticed that today is my 3 year aniversary of joining LGW.

I like the location near Comerica and Ford Field. Thanks for googling it. You're right. It'd be impossible. And that's why they only play 41 home games a year.
