yeah, that about sums er up.
-
actually, i think it's up to 7384 now. babs has got them working overtime.

people make judgments based on the evidence they have. if all people have is tv, that's how they'll base their judgments. it's not baseless, maybe, in your eyes, inaccurate, but people are comparing two legitimate bodies of evidence.
-
jeez, relax. i lived in the state, born and raised. people aren't insulting you. don't take it personally.
-
lol. where do you get these things?
-
i'm not sure why you're taking this personally, but i'll take loud as hell and like a zoo for half a game over pretty good. he also went to game three. game four was rocking the whole game. i'm guessing the joe wouldn't be too rowdy either if the wings were down 0-1 in the first period, and 0-2 halfway through the second.
-
sounds to me like he's saying nashville was louder by quite a margin. he described the atmosphere at the joe as "pretty good". the atmosphere at the sommet "a zoo" and "louder than hell" for half the game.

i don't even know what to say about this thread. i guess i agree with the poster who said it's babs that should be getting in people's faces and nick should be exactly who he is, a voice of calm and levelheadedness and veteran experience. i think lids makes a great captain. i think the transition took a while, but he's really embodied the role. it's tough, though, because inevitably he's compared to a guy who was one of the best respected captains in professional sports, EVER. those are some huge f-ing shoes, er, skates to fill. nicks doing fine. babs i'm not sure about. he is such a lamb in interviews it scares me. i don't know how much he has to do with the team's lack of urgency, but he needs to drop the hammer. :judge: see does anybody have any insight in to how babcock is in the locker room? because behind the bench and in the pressers he's a real swell chap.

i like oranges better.

the reg season games i've seen at the joe have been pretty tame, that's all i'm saying. granted i loved it, because it's the wings and because of it's amazing history, but the atmosphere isn't going to blow your hair back. the excitement factor comes from the wings, the crowd didn't add a whole lot. what else do people who haven't been to games have to compare the arenas? you can't compare the arenas either if you haven't been to the sommet (i know you've pointed out you're not making that comparison), that's the distinction people are trying to make.

i don't understand why anyone would be surprised. all the preds have to do is win two out of the next three. they're fully capable of doing this. are the wings the more talented team? of coarse, in nearly every facet of the game. but this time of year talent takes a serious back seat to grit and heart and determination, something the wings have been decidedly lacking the last few years. the wings have a reputation as playoff flops. they have that reputation for a reason. they just never seem to care as much or play as hard as the other team. that's a bad combo. you can tell nashville wants to get through this round more than anything. you don't get that impression from the wings. there are a few players that are laying their hearts on the line, but the team as a whole falls far short of that. i won't be surprised if the wings win two out of the next three, either. but seriously, how could you be surprised, given what you've seen, and given the wings recent playoff history, to see nashville take two out the next three. nashville is fully capable. this wings team isn't invincible. until babcock and the rest of the team realizes that, and until they actually play a full 60 minutes like their lives depend on it, i don't give a s*** if we get out of this round or not, we're not getting the cup.

for those saying the joe is loud??? granted i've never seen a playoff game there, but wings fans cheer louder at the united center for chrissakes! the joe has a pretty boring atmosphere. i actually thought, 'hey, not bad', when i watched game one and two, and then the nashville games the crowds literally distorted the speakers on my tv. unreal. say what you will about nashville and their fans, but they know how to rock that joint. also, for those saying people who haven't been to the joe can't compare, have you been to nashville? how do you know the joe is as loud?

evidently roger's hired jose higueras as a coach on a trial basis. maybe the french will be his redemption.

i'm really seeing more of the same from flip. i don't know why anybody is surprised. he's not a top six type player yet, if he'll ever be.

WQF Game 3 (4/14) GDT: Predators 5, Red Wings 3
datsyukismyfriend replied to aflac9262's topic in General
yeah, i don't know if it can now. the refs have set the tone. if they start calling anything now it'll be power plays and penalty kills the whole game. they've failed to do their job, imo. -

btw, (not blaming the refs for our loss because it's gone both ways) the officiating has been horrendous this whole series. pathetic. -

i agree. i'd rather have lost 4-0 (though i'd have been pretty damn pissed then, too!) but to lose like we did is just inexcusable. if is was a singular game, it wouldn't be as big a deal, but this has been a pattern with this team since the middle of the season. they coast way too much. -

god, if only. he's too damn tall! that's why the wings draft small. -

for those of you saying this will be a wake up call, i doubt it. the wings have done this for the last half of the season pretty consistently. they rarely put in a full 60 anymore. this game won't change it. it's clear nashville has had more heart this series. that's what sucks about finishing up the regular season with nothing to play for. the wings were lulled into complacency long ago and it's a hard habit to break. i'm still confident about this series, but what happens when we play a team that's actually worth a damn???? these complete mental and physical lapses multiple times a game are absolutely inexcusable. -
there are those that respond well to a physical game and those who don't. that's all he's saying. i think it's less the case with the wings than in some years past, but, seriously, people are making too much out of this.

that was a great game. i'm secretly hoping the sharks win, though, because i don't want to play calgary in the second round.
