here's some more: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2008...tory?id=3345411 i used to like trotz. he's sounding more and more like ron wilson every day. jesus, get over it!
-
lol, good point.
-
i haven't been watching the davis cup, who are you guys playing?
-
that's nice to hear. the joe sounded more rowdy on tv than i've seen it in a very long time! let's hope this trend continues!
-
yeah, i like hewitt quite a bit. i love his tenacity. roddick i'm hot and cold on. he can be cool but he can be a dick, too. he's funny as hell, though!

i just love the way federer plays. there has never been a more pleasing player visually, the way he moves and hits and his amazing angles and passing shots. that's why i love to see him play. i think you're spot on about his movement, but even more than that, i think he's scared now. he's playing scared. and his amazing passing shots that used to seem so effortless he's not confident about any longer and sends them wide or misfires altogether. i'm not sure that i find him arrogant. i think he's actually gracious. he's been very confident in interviews, but being one of, if not the most dominant tennis players ever to pick of the racket requires that confidence. the tennis player i can't stand right now is djoko. now he is cocky. his whole family is annoying. i just remember them in the australian open this being such babies about the crowd and adjacent boxes cheering for the other side. and i hate it when djoko eggs on the crowd or beats his chest and sticks his lower jaw out after a point. i like how federer is understated and seems to take most things in stride. djoko's just a rolling ball of testosterone. i'm with you on the slams. it wouldn't surprise me. obviously the french is out of the question with nadal and the way djokovic moves i think he'll be a true threat on clay this year (although his respiratory issues will be more evident on clay). the us open is djoko's, he's far and away the best hard court player in the world right now. feds only chance is at wimbledon. it'll be interesting to see how he plays on grass this year. you're right, nobody could have predicted this slide. although when djokovic pushed fed in the us open final last year, i thought fed looked scared. djoko is definitely in his head. i'm even questioning sampras's record. that doesn't seem a given for federer any longer either (and most people were saying he'd tie or break it this year!) a strange turn of events, indeed.

this just makes me sad.

holy s***, that was awesome.

http://redwingscorner.blogspot.com/ looks like macleod changed his mind. "Scratch that last post by me. Tomas Holmstrom (abdomen) isn't going to play tonight and likely won't play tomorrow night in Detroit either. Coach Mike Babcock said that the team is still, however, counting on Homer being ready for the start of the playoffs. Zetterberg is fine. He and Babcock were the only two to take the morning skate off, which was listed as optional. Mikael Samuelsson (groin) skated early, but did not practice. Brad Stuart (broken finger) practiced. Babcock said that Stuart will definitely be ready to play the first game of the post-season."

Peter Forsberg forgetting he's old and washed up.

i'm not saying it was holland. forsberg overtly stated he didn't want to come here. i know his coming here wasn't a possibility, i'm only remarking on the general uproar of lgw posters. if he was interested, i'd have been glad to have him. -

isn't everybody glad we didn't get him... -
lol! that was awesome matt. i completely fell for it. i even knew what day it was, too.

the way franzen is playing he's a clear improvement over homer (especially the way homer was playing before he got hurt) imo. plus he's responsible defensively, not a liability like homer. i'd like to see franzen stay up top and put homer on the second line.
-
i think we've been spoiled by datsyuk and zetterberg. we expect hudler and flip to develop into these amazing players and i don't really think they have it in them. i can see flip develping into a relatively solid second liner, but i think hudler should go. he doesn't bring enough to the table. he's got a good shot, and can be crafty at times, but he's much too slow and small to ever make a real dent, imo. but who knows, i was trash talking franzen a couple months ago and now look at him. i really trash-talked kronwall before this year and at the beginning of this year and now i have to say he really seems to ge coming into his own. maybe i'm the one who needs to gain a little patience...
-
absolutely. he played great. lets hope he can establish a groove over the next three games. we're really going to need him going strong for the playoffs.
-
lol. seriously, where did this guy come from. it was only a month and a half ago and he was on my s*** list.
-
same could be said for us and dom this game. well, dom and the crossbar.
-
the wings make most goalies look amazing (though ellis has played very well this year).
-
a fellow letsgowinger?
-
what a boring f@#king game. jesus. i hate central games.
-
that was pretty funny. at least he's consistent.

can somebody please tell me what the hell sammy was doing on the top line? i don't understand babcock. all sammy did all night was fumble around and mess up anything good datsyuk or zetterberg created. the guy is worthless. is it any coincidence the only reg stength goal was scored with cleary on the top line in place of sammy? get a clue babcock. tight game. kinda boring, but good to get in the habit of having to keep concentration for a full 60. franzen has really found his stride. he's an upgrade over holmstrom the way he's playing right now. he basically does what homer does but franzen isn't a liability on defense or carrying the puck. i'm sure homer will get top line honors when he's back, but i wouldn't mind franzen taking his place. datsyuk zetterberg franzen cleary filppula holmstrom i think that looks like a pretty good top six.
-
exactly. opposing goalies get way too much credit when they play the wings. there is a reason we make every goalie look like the best goalie in the world. the wings have more meaningless shots than any other team. if you shoot the puck into the goalies chest all night, or spend all night firing shots from the blue line, the goalie is going to make a lot of saves.
