that's been our best line tonight, i think. they've looked great. even sammy (i can't believe i just said that).
-
dats has been shooting more than usual this year, his shot is just off for some reason. he's high and wide a lot. i'm not sure what his deal is goal wise so far. he just doesn't have confidence in his shot right now for some reason.
-
i think the wings need plan on having to score one more goal than they usually do because one is bound to be called back. zetterberg needs to concentrate on at least a hattrick a game so that he'll actaully walk away with a goal on the stat sheet.
-
pavel does seem to be lacking in confidence a little. he'll hit his stride, though. if zetterberg keeps playing like he is i'll be a very happy camper. he's been untouchable so far this year.
-
that would be awesome!
-
that's definitely a positive. the kids need to get some confidence and nothing does that better than points on the board. now that hudler broke his cherry maybe he'll step it up.
-
we all understand how much you love dom. we get it. you don't have to continuously defend him.
-
okay, you can stop stroking dom's ego for a few minutes, we get the point.
-
exactly. refs are brutal this year. how many goals have we had called back this year? i've never seen anything like it.
-
maybe we can put downey in to fight the refs. help us get some momentum back. same as last game.
-
dats has had some pretty suspect turnovers, he needs to tighten up. other than that, and maybe hasek, the wings are playing well. you can thank the refs for this one. absolute bulls***.
-
it's not luck. flip just doesn't have a finishing touch, plain and simple.
-
just curious as to how much cap room we have? i know we have, relatively, a good amount, but how much specifically? just curious what we'll have to work with when the time comes.
-
lol, that never gets old to me.

i agree that detroit might be better prepared in a tougher division. although we'd probably be more banged up at the same time. babcock did an excellent job last year, imo, getting them ready for playoffs even though we played such a weak division. and you're right, the central doesn't look like as much of a breeze as it has been so far.
-
i don't think anybody would disagree that the wings have played in the weakest division in the western conference the last few years. and it has definitely inflated our record a bit. i wouldn't go so far as to say we wouldn't have made the playoffs in a different division, but our record wouldn't have been as good.
-
i bet feds would have been retired if he had stayed a wing.
-
we have lids up next year too
-
absolutely. if this team can ice two formidable scoring lines we will be very tough to stop. we already have a good team. but with a second line that can score this team would be cup favorites, imo.

Eklund at it again. Forsberg to Detroit?

3rd or 4th line addition? he's one of the most talented hockey players of the last 15 years. he would be our second line center, no doubt. there's no sense picking him up if our intention is to stick him on a checking line. -
rafalski is definitely a better fit. and i think his defensive lapses will be ironed as he's still adjusting to the wings. but you're right, even the way he's playing now he's better defensively than schneider was. as for schneider's shot, i was never a huge fan. he had a heavy heavy shot, but on the pp, more often than not, it just disrupted the rhythm. usually, if he got it through, it was right into the goalies chest, and often enough to be noteworthy he got it blocked at he blue line for a rush the other way. rafalski picks his places better for his shot and he's smarter with it, even though its a softer shot. and even though rafalski probably won't have as many goals as schneider did, our pp is dramatically better with rafalski in it because we aren't disrupting our rhythm with countless ineffective and ill-timed shots from the blue line. so, i don't know if any of this makes sense, but essentially, i think rafalski is not only better for this team defensively, but offensively as well.

great game by the wings tonight!! i hope rafalski's alright. anybody see what happened or hear anything in the post game? is it just me, or is dat's wrister way off so far this year? i wonder if somethings wrong. seems like most of his shots are way high and wide, he's normally got such an accurate wrist shot. that may account for his slow start on goals, too.
-
damn. i knew he was too good to be true.
