i think the pain train should have his own clothing line! i think hockey is just a safety net for hank, it's obvious his true aspiration is to be a super model.

although kronwall looked pretty good, i thought, in the first two games, he's definitely regained his form from last year these last two (in a bad way). he gives the puck away consistently and hasn't been good positionally. he has shown a few flashes of his potential but not much. i'm still waiting for this guy to live up to even half his hype.

lol he's been trying. i haven't seen chelios jump up into the play as much as he has so far this year since, well, never.

i thought it was a great game tonight. hits were 19 to 13 in favor of detroit. not bad at all.

it just kinda sucks. 10 years of sellouts is a point of pride for wings fans, or should be. we've had such a dramatic shift the last few years (even though they've been sold out there have been tons of empty seats), it kinda sucks. it's ruining our rep, man!

excuses, excuses. that hasn't been a problem the last 11 years. nice to see us dismantle the oilers. good effort. some poor meltdowns, a couple key ones by lidstrom of all people, but those will get ironed out. good game. z is lighting it up. i don't want him to score too much the next two years or we aren't going to be able to afford him!

lol in all fairness to mikael he got his fair share of shellackings last season, too. i mean, let's give the guy some credit.

i'm still kinda hoping we get forsberg if he turns out to be healthy. i know there were rumors about it. how sweet would that be if we had zdh up front and forsberg centering the second line? i wish we had held on to bert. he looked good when we played the ducks. he's a hell of a lot faster than what he was when he played here. he looks like he's in great shape for the first time in a long time. that would have been nice. i doubt it, he's got like three years left on his contract. isn't he making like 5 mil a year. that's not worth it. especially for the free agents the wings have coming up the next few years. besides, mike's already 37.

hopefully babs throws filppula up on dats line. they were very good last year when zetterberg was out.

you realize you're talking about the guy who's won the lady byng the last two years as the most gentlemanly player in the nhl, right??? he had 20 pim's last year in 79 games averaging 20 minutes a game. i'm not one to pick on people, but come on....

i love their retro jerseys with the C wit the stick through it. but the ones with the whale pretty stupid. anyway, it's hard to vote against any of the orginal six teams, their sweaters are pretty much the only classy ones, every other sweater has some big like cartoon character on the front. so i expect them all to advance. unless vancouver mounts up its forces again.

s***ty loss. at least we got the point. i was so pissed after that datsyuk goal was whistled dead!!! bulls***!!! i know it's only two games in, but i'm starting to get scared that we're a team with basically two top six forwards. i hope holland is paying attention. on the bright side, rafalski makes our pp deadly. what a great addition. other than a few things he's looked great so far. the games was so much more fun to watch the few times z and dats overlapped on shifts or were on the pp together. it's becoming evident that nobody else in the top six has the skill to hang with these two. especially sammy. every shift it seems they do all this work to gain the blue line or keep it in or something only to pass it to somebody who just bobbles the puck for a few seconds and then turns it over. hollands needs to get somebody to center the second line so we can have the zdh line up front. my two cents

yeah, and their sellout streak actually ended last season i believe. i mean, they didn't have a single seat filled for the playoffs. seriously though, i think their streak ended last regular season. so those are two of the strongest markets in the west right there. probably the two strongest us markets, maybe the wild.

it is a little concerning to not have any pure goal scorers on the wing. hopefully hudler can step up but i really don't see franzen fitting the bill. homer's great though i wouldn't necessarily consider him a first liner (he's benefited tremendously from z and dats so his stats of late are inflated) unless he's paired with z and dats. it'd be great if grigs could get into shape and show he can make an impact because he has offensive talent like no other winger on the wings right now plus he has a bit of size and grit. i don't know, it'll be interesting. i think defense will save us because i don't expect a whole lot of offense five on five with the talent we have. we'll see.

bottom line: it's difficult to call a town hockeytown when it doesn't sell out for the playoffs. when it doesn't sell out for the opening game of the season against last season's cup winners, it's delusion. let's face it, there are other cities much more deserving of the title these days. the wings are still probably the biggest draw nation-wide, but they can't even sell out they're own house? even when they were selling out last year the place was dead. other than history, it a pretty drab place for a game. i had more fun at the united center that was only 2/3 full.

2 for 6 on the pp is great.
