well, it was an interesting time of year to decide only to show up for the third period. but i guess we shouldn't have expected anything different, the wings have been taking periods off all year. either way, it's been a great season. i can't say that i think the better team won the series, but the ducks got it done and that's all that counts, so congratulations to the ducks. hopefully lang, and maybe schneider (i think they've shown the can be very formidable without him) are gone, that should free up some space and i'd like to get bert back to see what he can do at 100%. other than that, i think we have an excellent team and a few minor tweaks and we should be a serious cup contender again next year. just as long as they don't take two periods off in game 6 of the WCF's next year!!!!! great season. glad to see dats in true form in the post season. here's to next year. :chug:

alright, this is it. the biggest game of the season. it all comes down to tonight. i'm confident, but nervous as hell. all i know is we're about due for a game where we get the breaks. GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!! i hope to see the ducks waddling around detroit in a few days. wings 4-2

we'd score if we had somebody that could bury a shot. when you shoot into a goalies chest 36 times a night you're not going to win. wings need to find what little openings giguere allows and hit them. we can't continue to shoot it right into his body. this is something they've done fairly consistently this year. that's why every goalie we go up against looks like patrick roy.

i think you're the only one on here more pissed about people being pissed than pissed beacuse the wings lost. much of what you said was true. the wings did play the better game, had chances, etc. but none of that matters. wings lost. bottom line is that the ducks got it done tonight and the wings didn't. it doesn't matter if you fight back from 3-1 to tie it if you lose, it's still a loss. people are pissed because the wings squandered a huge opportunity to basically guarantee a finals appearance this year, and it may come back to haunt them. it's obviously not close to being over. sunday is a whole new day and it's not like we're wobbling or anything, it's tied up, best of three, there's plenty of sunshine still left. that said, when you have an opportunity like the wings had tonight, it's imperative that you exploit it, because, don't get it wrong, the ducks are a good ******* team, and you just don't know how many chances you'll have against them. sunday the wings may have the chances to get up 3 to 2, but then again, tonight may have been it.

i hope we're not doomed now that the mullet has said he underestimated us. please, please take it back, barry, c'mon, you know, lay the "the wing's are too small and ducks too big and wing's too slow and ducks too fast and wings too old and ducks young and wings too weak and ducks too strong" on us again. that was good stuff. ah well. i just realized barry's initials are BM. that's funny.

damn. i've been trying to get on this site for 30 minutes, so i'm even more ******* annoyed. well, i don't think giguere was as good as people thought. wing's just didn't bury their chances. he was good positionally, but wasn't exceptional by any means. the wings just plain shot it into his chest on most of their chances. wings blew a huge opportunity tonight. the 5 on 3s killed us and dom wasn't strong. this could definitely be the turning point in this series. if the wings lose this series i'll definitely be looking back at this game. that said, i think they out-played the ducks. that almost makes it worse. when you have the chance to knock the life out of a team in the wcf's, you need to ******* do it. wasted opportunity. oh well, going home for game five. it's a best of three now. go wings!

i'm very surprised by this. i didn't know the nhl had it in them. obviously the right call. i think two games would have been warranted but i think one is fine. i'm just glad homer isn't seriously hurt. after the hit i thought he'd at least be concussed and out for the series. homer's tough as nails.

yeah, he's been healthy for a while.

i don't think anybody is calling him a "physical power-forward god". but he can play physically and he's a quasi-large body and he has energy. hudler is tiny and slow and got tossed around like a rag doll against san jose. he does have more offensive upside than kopecky, but he wouldn't have any space to do anything playing the ducks. i like this choice, i just hope kopckey isn't too rusty. i'll second that.

hudler would be completely man-handled by the ducks. babs is looking more for a body that can provide some physical play and energy, hudler won't do that, he would only get knocked around even worse than he did against the sharks.

yeah, but i'd wait until the end of the playoffs to fix it because you never know what other kinds of accidental holes and just general knuckle-shaped damage a door is going to accrue during a run for the cup.

oh yeah, and could zetterberg bury a shot, please? he's had quite a few point blank opportunities and a couple right on jiggy's doorstep.

next game is pretty important. i just want to see the wings come out hard and match the ducks effort for sixty minutes. then we'll see what happens.

you have to give the duck's fore-checking credit. the wings panic constantly because of it. the wings need to apply more pressure on the fore and back-checking. i thought san jose had an amazing forecheck, but the ducks are taking it to us. they are consistently sending two or three guys in and the wings haven't had the poise to burn them and make them pay, so it'll continue to happen. if the wings could settle down and make smart plays maybe we could cash in on some of the duck's aggression.

i think, clearly, the better team won tonight. the refs had some questionable non-calls, but the ducks came to play. the wings need to settle down and play smart. they show patches of brilliance where they absolutely dominate the play and then the next shift they can't get it out of their zone for like 2 minutes straight. it's so stressful to watch. they need some serious lessons on clearing the ******* puck, if they can do that and not give the ducks chance after chance after chance after chance to set up scoring opportunities then i think we'll be fine. if not, we're not going to beat the ducks.

well, he stole game one, so... the wings need to tighten down in their zone. the giveaways and errant passes are killing us. it's happened all year, so i'm not expecting a miracle, but at least a little smarter play in our end, please?? we are lucky we're so talented, not too many teams can give the puck away as much as we do and still win as much as we do. if the guys can just pull their ******* heads out of their asses we should be fine, but the could be a big if.

wings are getting seriously out played. not that the wings turning the puck over an obscene amount is anything new, but c'mon guys!!!!! this is the WCF's pull your head out of your asses!!! is it an unwritten red wing's bylaw that if there are not passing lanes in the defensive zone then one should give the puck away instead of just clearing it??

damn, that could be a nasty top six!!! if bertuzzi can get back to form and grigorenko can close in on 100% we could put up some serious points next year.
