"Datsyuk was seen noticeably limping out Joe Louis Arena after Detroit's series-opening 3-1 victory Saturday night and there were fears Datsyuk might have regressed in his rehabilitation. When he didn't make an appearance at Sunday's optional skate, those fears intensified." if he's still limping more than a week and a half after supposedly bruising his foot, it's gotta be more than a bruise, right?

need to cut down on turnovers. otherwise good period. we were the better team. too bad stuart and ozzy teamed up to get the pens on the board. if we take care of the puck, we'll be looking good. hey stuart and kronwall: NO MORE GIVEAWAYS IN THE DEFENSIVE ZONE! especially when malkin or crosby are on the ice.

for what it's worth... a. i've got it from an inside source that crosby and malkin have asked to play on the wings side for the finals. b. the cap is going up to 160 million next year c. hossa is talking about signing long term for a rabbit pen and alfalfa patch d. the north korean national anthem, in place of the star spangled banner, will be sung before each game during the finals.

this is so annoying. i hate disclosure in the playoffs. who knows what the hell is going on.

that makes me feel a little bit better. how much time between games? were you recovering well a week and a half later? (not that you were hit by an nhl caliber shot, but still)

while a possibility for lidstrom, i don't think this is the case for datsyuk.

i've never played hockey, so i don't know, but has anybody had a bruised foot from a puck? does it really keep you out of the lineup for a week and a half (in the playoffs?!?!) ? i have a sneaking suspicion dats' foot is fractured and he won't be back. how many games can you be a game-time decision. if you're game-time decision one game, you're almost sure to play the next game. it's seeming more plausible that the wings are stringing datsyuk along as a possibility so that other teams have to prepare as if he's playing, while the wings know full well datsyuk isn't close.

no, you guys just jump all over other posters who are venting. you like to act high and mighty because you happen to be an optimist. i see the optimists bashing just as much as the pessimists. the difference is that the optimists make personal attacks against other posters because they're venting, whereas the pessimists attack hockey players who they don't even know and whose job it is to play hockey.

and i'm so tired of people getting on their high horse. you don't want to hear complaining...don't join an internet forum about sports.

this was the worst effort of these playoffs, followed by last game, which, up until tonight, was the worst. wings need to get back to 60 minute efforts we were seeing until the last two games. this trend scares me because it looks too much like the lazy funk we were in during the regular season that we couldn't shake all year long.

the last two games have looked like the wings of the regular season. not clearing pucks, getting passes picked off, bad defense, bad pking. s***ty effort tonight boys. after last game, you could see these habits creeping back in. better turn it around.

our defense, pk, and goaltending have bewildered me all year. now our d and goal tending have been excellent. it stands to reason that our pk would have gotten a boost as well, yet it's terrible. that makes no sense to me.

gotcha, i misinterpreted getting by on skill. either way, we agree about tonights effort. it won't get it done in chicago.

i disagree about game one. after the first ten minutes of that game i thought we carried the play the rest of the way. i thought it was a well played game. not the emotional engagement we had against the ducks, necessarily, but solid. tonight however, even though we won, i think was our worst game of the playoffs. we just looked spent and disinterested. hope we don't develop a pattern...

as much as i loved hossa during the regular season and think his personality is perfect for this team, this paragraph makes sense to me.

is the wings first line one of the worst under-performing lines in playoff history? collectively the line scored .99 ppg during the regular season. during the playoffs... .44 ppg. our top line has 17 points in 13 games, total. the whole line has 1 less point than franzen has by himself! datsyuk has scored 1 goal in the last 17 games! that averages out to fewer than 5 goals in an 82 game season.

feels like it's been forever since i've enjoyed an ot win in the playoffs. nice work sammy!
