looked like it deflected off of rob's shaft to me. slightly changed directions.

wings out-played the ducks for the majority of the game. the datsyuk line is getting embarrassed and the getzlaf line is unstoppable. that's pretty much the difference. their top players are carrying the team. while z and franzen have been good (especially franzen), dats and hossa have be huge ******* losers. other than that, the wings have been the better team.

datsyuk's been a no show now for about 8 games. he was throwing his body around in game one agains the bj's but that's about it. the last three games of the season he was minus 4 with no points. he's got 3 points in 6 games so far. he's not been a difference maker like he needs to be. dat's needs to get his ******* thumb out of his ass and get moving. i don't care if he's hurt or not. everybody's hurt. he needs to get going and quick.

if we lose this series it will be absolutely crushing. i hate no team more than the ducks, and they have our number in the playoffs. you knew the longer this went in ot the more likely the ducks would get lucky. that said, the series is even. wings will need to come out swinging in game three (as opposed to today). if the ducks win game three i'll lose a lot of confidence.

more like replace datsyuk with helm (jk, kinda).

wings dominated play from the third period on. they deserved this game. hiller was incredible (who the f*** is this guy). how do the ducks always happen upon ******* stellar playoff goalies?!?!?!?!?!?! datsyuk needs to get his ******* thumb out of his ass. he's done nothing all playoffs. he needs to turn it around. we're talking the fourth leading scorer during the regular season!!! i don't care if he's hurt or not, he needs to rise above it. i'm just annoyed now when he touches the puck. hossa needs to ******* do something, too. no doubt this is a deflating loss. it'll be hard to rebound from this one. on the upside, the wings carried the play for most of the game. we've just run into a goalie (again) that could easily steal a series. that, and we have no answer to getslaf.

just an observation, huds was cut on the left side of his head, he got hit on the right side of the head. the cut didn't come from an brown's elbow or stick.

but in the third he looked fine? any idea what it was? i didn't see him grimace or move awkwardly in the third.

the wings have definitely taken their play to the next level this post-season. they've been so much fun to watch! 3-0!!

detroit was hitting like madmen tonight. it was so refreshing to see that passion from them, (unexpected too, for me at least). datsyuk led the team in hits with six! he was on a mission. even zetterberg knocked somebody on their ass.

after a tentative first in which ozzy stepped up big and saved our bacon, the wings took the game over completely. great start to the playoffs!

i just think some of the offers hudler will get will price him out of what he's worth to us. he's too one-dimensional to be of use on our top lines and too small and slow and defensively disabled to be a grinder-type player. so basically we'll be paying 2.5-3.5 (my guess, could be way off) million for a pp specialist. hossa's a difficult situation because he wont be cheap, but losing hudler to keep him isn't a concern of mine.

i said nothing about kopecky and nothing about 1m a year. cleary had 20 goals before his contract, great, but he's only got 14 this year and he spent much of it on the top two lines and pp. he's not a difference maker, he's a grinder-type player with occasional offensive flairs. we have plenty of guys with occasional offensive flairs. and if your going to throw names around at least use the proper words.

cleary brings nothing to the team that isn't replaceable for less money. he's got a great attitude and i like him, but he's not worth what he's making, imo.

it seems a lot of "optimist" fans feel the need to get self-righteous and proclaim how superior their fanmanship is to pessimists. being an optimist doesn't make you a better fan. being a pessimist doesn't make me a bandwagoner. people see the world in different ways. seeing things negatively doesn't make a person any less of a fan. a bandwagon fan is a fan that's only a fan when the team is winning. it's not the same as being a negative fan.

pessimism and bandwagoning aren't synonymous.

as much as i wouldn't want to face san jose in a later round, i can't bring myself to cheer for the ducks. i have everything about that team.

i'd definitely rather play columbus than the ducks. with columbus we have a much better chance getting everybody out of the series uninjured, at least. that said, the jackets have played us tight this year. wings in six.
