let's hope. they clearly have the talent and know-how do go all the way. it just worries how lackluster they've been this year. i just hope i see them balls-to-the-wall game one. if they lose, fine, just give it everything they have.

the problem is, you don't get the "must win" mentality until you're in an elimination game.

we are one of the best teams in the league, i agree. the most talented. but when you watch the team, especially defensively, play so far under its potential for the regular season, it's bound to have you worried going into the post season. people seem to think the wings are going to flip some magical switch in the playoffs. it's possible they get it all together, but we've seen few games this year where they've had it all together. our insane offense and power play are solely responsible for our record this year, and even those have been slipping.

and datsyuk, wtf! three games to go, he's leading the league in +/- and needs three points to get 100. what does he do? he goes -4 in those games without scoring a point. jesus!

well, this team, this year, has turned uninspired erratic play into an art form. let's see them turn the switch that everybody's so confident they'll turn. now the games matter. no more excuses. the lazy defense, the boneheaded passes, the goaltending, our recently dethroned power play, they can't be blamed on games that don't matter any longer. i, for one, am not confident at all that the wings can turn this switch and all of a sudden start playing like they give a damn. they've played uninspired hockey for the bulk of the season, that, to me, spells first round upset. we'll see...

it was between hossa's (becuase i think it was his first as a red wing, too, right?) and franzen's last one. i chose franzen.

jesus! not only does datsyuk not get any points, he's a ******* -2, all because conklin can't stop a shot from forty-five ******* feet out. s*** ******* game.

if anybody can figure it out it's holland, but i think will just have to give up too much.

babcock puts cleary in to shoot fourth in the shootout?? what the hell babs? i have to pin this loss of lidstrom, though. we're sitting on a cushy two-goal lead and lids backhands a soft pass right across the middle of the ice to a wide open predator. lids is still great, but he's lost something. lids of last year and before never made idiotic plays like that. that play gave the preds momentum and then kronwall taking his dumb-ass penalty with 3 to go sealed the deal. not that this game mattered much, we f***ed up the president's trophy long ago, but still. not the effort you'd like three games before the playoffs start.

excellent game by the wings today. ozzie gave up 1 terrible and 1 questionable goal, but on the while i thought he played well. he got the w while only letting in 2 goals. good effort. he's going to have to string together 3 or 4 more games like this to get ready for the playoffs. overall i was very pleased with the play today. keep it up!

zetterberg's looking the best i've seen him in a long time, maybe all year. he looks like he did last year!

hopefully. we've been saying hopefully all year. hopefully a nice schelacking will get our d in order. hopefully playing for #1 will give this team some passion. hopefully getting embarrassed will chop at their pride, give them a quick kick in the ass. hopefully giving ozzy 10 days off will refresh him. hopefully, hopefully, hopefully... but here we are, still hoping...

with the way the wings are playing everybody scares me. all teams have to do is hold the wings to fewer than 4 goals per game and the wings will bury themselves. any team can do that 4 games of a 7 game series. this team is truly unbelievable.
