that's what I like to hear before heading into a brand new season!
-
yeah that's why I suggested him we'll need to replace those guys to fill the seats like last year
-
minus player on a good team, won't fight, won't hit, won't chip in during the playoffs.... let's sign him up he'd have good chemistry with our 4th line Maltby-Draper-Axelsson
-
not sure but P.J. Axelsson is!!!!
-
he'll occasionally stand up for himself so that's a big fat NO
-
actually i'm pretty sure there's been a ton of leafs threads on THIS message board so maybe on letsgowings.com
-
nice signing for Habs, must needed secondary toughness... hopefully we're able to land someone with some balls
-
most recent rumor is our 4th line could be Maltby-Draper-Kelly next year..... if that happens you'll probably be seeing a lot of talk about other teams around here to keep people from snoozin
-
it's called being a "tough team" not "ducks" it's like calling a tissue a "kleenox"
-
his cap hit is too high and too long for someone who doesn't fill any of our current voids
-
god I hope not
-
I used to think that was a big problem they had too but with Pronger you still feel that way? Maybe not in terms of pure fighting ability but having Pronger, Alberts, Coburn, and Parent those are some pretty big boys who know how to lay the body
-
McKee @ 4 mill is horrible... that's why Blues bought him out McKee @ .8 mill is awesome... that's why Pens signed him
-
GREAT SIGNING... McKee was just bought out of his 4mill/year contract so he's already cashed in, now he gets to play for the Stanley Cup champions without hurting their cap situation... win/win for both sides here
-
dude just shut up that makes no sense... did I say more cups automatically equals wins? no.. but do you want someone who's never been tested in the playoffs before, or someone who's been there, battled, won, and played above their game? you take the sure bet
-
Proven winner = stanley cup = experience = knows how to win, something you can never have enough of Clutch scorer = 7 goals in 21 playoff games opposed to 11 in 82 reg. season games on route to a Stanley Cup... good things happen when you're role players chip in with timely goals Like you said, he's a "young, decent, defensive forward", he also brings us another element we currently don't have in fisticuffs (I know it's crazy to some but it's still part of the game, even HOLLAND will admit that) Nobody is looking to fill the void of Hossa/Hudler/Sammy, funny you left out TOMAS KOPECKY because that's the void he'd be filling we could use a 4th line plugger and Moen will be relatively cheap... no one else brings the complete package like he does ... no one is saying he's a godsend just that he's probably the best suited player available for that role
-
proven winner.. good size, good defensively, will hit and stand up for team mates, still really young, and a clutch scorer... and he'll come relatively cheap
-
we play the Flyers twice in preseason and the Leafs twice too.....nice
-
they are ******* awesome can't wait for the season to start... Flyers vs. Leafs is like a pay per view event...gotta watch that one with the broskis
-
mehh I've thought about Hinote too but I just don't see Maltby-Draper-Hinote being effective enough.. I'd rather get some younger legs and someone who can chip in more than him
-
Holland has stated we're moving a D before the season starts so there's more cap space, no one knows how much until it happens
-
we're moving a D
-
I wouldn't mind Afinogenov, definitely not my #1 opinion but if we are gonna go for a Euro that can score I think he'd be a good signing. He's fast, exciting to watch, and he actually plays with a bit of an edge at times. If we could get him cheap it could be worth it, potential Russian line mate for Datsyuk.

20 points, physical presence, 19 fights and one of the best pound for pound fighters in the league @ 640,000/year.... why wouldn't everyone want him on their team???
