Bowman wouldn't ice this team and Bowman's team wouldn't act like vaginas night after night. I guess me, among many many many others, have no idea what "real" hockey is supposed to be then. When the 1st place team in the conference can't sell out games, create energy in an arena, and has a lot of their own fans turning against them.... I'd say there's something wrong with that product, no?

A lot of people hate the Red Wings because they are single handedly trying their damndest to turn the great game of hockey into Bettman's ballet on ice. Just accept it, don't defend it. If you enjoy it then watch it, but unhappy fans who like real hockey are going to continue to call them out for it until something changes. It's really that simple.

I was just pointing out something I found pretty funny considering that this thread was made today and the first page I clicked in the GDT had 3 posts of people complaining how boring the game was tonight. You're just being a douchebag because it actually IS pretty ironic and Electrophile also did contradict herself by basically saying, and this isn't her direct quotes but more or less: Watching the Red Wings doesn't bore me. I'm being bored while watching the Red Wings. Anyways, I'm not posting in here again tonight because you seem like the type of person who loves to go back and forth with nonsense for no reason and I'm not about that. Some people thought the game tonight was boring, it's okay, just accept that. I'm glad we won. Yes I know the difference, but like I said just above, you were watching the Red Wings play hockey and admitted to being bored. That's it... no big deal, just something I found funny. I haven't been watching the game but sounds like I haven't missed much.

yeah it's because the lack of physical play and fighting... the strategy works you can't argue with that, but think about watching the Wings from a fan of another team's perspective... the Wings tend to be able to suck the energy from a game and beat their opponents on pure skill rather than adrenaline and that is not fun especially when your team is losing the Wings are also incredibly disciplined and when push comes to shove, they turn away and let the referees deal with it... again, a good strategy to win, but let's be a honest a brawl in hockey is about as entertaining as it gets

I disagree 1000000000%, I think he can definitely handle (and deserves) a 4th line role. He's been even (+/-) in 60ish games with the Wings and has a goal and assist so far this year in 4 games. He plays such a simple game and although he may look awkward doing it he does all the fundamentals and gets the job done.

god it is amazing how much more comforting it is to watch the Wings knowing there is 1 guy on the ice who can step up if s*** gets out of hand, it makes all the difference in the world to me... I cherish every second Downey spends on the ice

that is how Downey gets himself into the game, scrums and verbal scuffles I wouldn't say he was out of position on the goal... he was in the lane and went down for the shot block.. Franzen wizzed by Liles as he shot it and it looked to have created a screen

Aside from the unfortunate Hossa injury, that was the most entertaining period of Red Wings hockey all year long.
