everyone used to love comparing everyone to Dallas Drake when they were no where close to it.... now someone comes along who would be a legitimate replacement for him and no one even brings it up
-
luckily though that's never really a concern
-
yeah learning to play defense f*** that eh haha remember that other guy who wasn't getting ice time last year who dipped from the league? what was his name..?? oh wait that was Stamkos who's a two-way superstar in the league just a year later
-
Would love to see Tardif in the line up... a home brewed grinder who can play 4th line hockey? Been a while... Detroit is hurting for a couple more guys who will stand up for themselves out there
-
dunno why everyone hates on Kopecky i mean he is a big body presence and power forward and he's good for about 30 goals, 60 points LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOOLOL
-
Ridiculous... 5 games, haha. If only refs heard the other 99% of trash talk on the ice...
-
If a 16 year old can't learn to play contact hockey with 15-20 year olds, how is he going to adjust to play in the NHL in a couple of years against 25-30 year olds?
-
not surprising he'd flourish in a non contact league with other softies
-
if you have to ask someone else for questions to ask then IMO don't ask them.. don't waste these guys time if you have something you want to know then ask them, if not don't ask anything... you know what i mean?
-
bahahahahah he's not.... he's just the "i'm not actually on a line sub-in" guy
-
so first the poll is in favour of carrying an enforcer, and then the management goes out and gets one yeah I think it's safe to say that debate is over haha
-
I'd take him over Williams on the 3rd line not have him play a 4th line role..... but my 4th line wouldn't include Maltby that's fo sho
-
this is the nerdiest enforcer debate i've ever come across
-
so does the hockey
-
I think you have things all backwards
-
For playing such tough hockey you sure are emo!

It's not like it's each individual player's fault, going into this game the Wings line up was just so much softer than the Pens that it was obvious something was going to happen. Welcome to the NHL Mattias, hope you don't mind eating fist occasionally, get used to it. It's not always about fighting just standing up for each other, not being pushed around in your own barn, etc., you know, basic hockey stuff. Obviously some people are fed up with it if you look at the neverending debates on this forum and other Red Wings forums, or just take a look at the Joe Louis Arena and it's fans, they certainly don't look entertained. What exactly is it about Jonathan Ericsson that you decided to use a picture of him in your signature? Is it because he's a young stay at home defenseman? Or could it possibly, POSSIBLY have to do with him being a strong, physical player, good defenseman, and will stand up for himself? Do any of those things factor into the equation at all? Detroit is desperate for some sort of toughness... but it's like year after year we just wait... wait... wait... nothing...

It's not about being in the most fights though, it's just the concept of sticking up for each other, defending your team mates, leaving the rink with some dignity, you know, the stuff that's made hockey one of the most exciting and respected games in the world.
-
woo hoo I'm sooo glad we got the 2 points outta this game... oh wait... well at least we walked outta this one with some pride and dignity in our hockey team... oh wait... at least the Joe was rocking... ehh.. I guess it could have been worse, there could have been "GO LEAFS GO" chants like there was the other night...haha

May is dirty, but hockey is a dirty game he'd be the ideal guy for the Wings... he can play, he's smart, responsible, knows what it takes to win, and he'll only fight when he feels necessary, and he's not afraid to go after non fighters
-
for sure but it'll be tough... you know a guy that willing always has a chance with Burke running the show... i'm sure he'd love to have a physical presence on both the 3rd and 4th line and besides Orr they really don't have it, neither Mayers or Primeau is really that physical or intimidating.. Rosehill's made a smooth transition to forward and looks really good out that hope he makes it
