It's funny how many people are giving their 2 cents "Don Cherry is old and dumb!" but have no comment on his actual argument... which is pretty friggen' accurate.

I've never looked at hit stats for a year so I don't know where Cleary stands but something to consider is that he's also getting a lot more ice time now that he's playing top 6 minutes. I'm not incredibly disappointed with Cleary I just don't see him as a guy who wants to finish every check and punish the other team's D, whereas I did a couple of years ago.

I do care if Cleary brings grit. His hardwork and grit is what got him on the team in the first place. For a 2.800 cap hit I want more than a 40 point perimeter player, I want a guy who is going to finish every hit and occassionally WOW me with hits like his on Phaneuf and him standing up to Pronger last year.

I would be 10000000% satisfied if we traded a 2nd rounder for Chris Neil then locked him up to an extension.

It didn't take long to go to YouTube and search his most famous goal. No doubt it was an incredible goal, and he didn't actually jump into the glass but the dramatics were still there and it was 6-1 in the 3rd. Personally I'd prefer him let the fans deal with the flare rather than himself but I don't really care, he's as exciting as they come.

Anaheim is Anaheim... it's not even close to the same. Detroit is still Detroit but it's not "hockeytown". Everyone knows who the Red Wings are, everyone knows they are good, but it's not the with the same enthusiasm as it was a few years ago. People in Anaheim don't know who the Ducks are. Again, it's really not even comparable.

Where were those fans during the year and playoffs? Why was the Joe empty? It's a friggen Stanley Cup Parade, who wouldn't go? I'd go to a Toronto Blue Jays parade if they won the <insert baseball trophy here> and I don't give 2 s***s about them. It's a social event, a friggen' parade...it's not hockey.

Take it from me then, I used to (still am in a way) a huge Red Wings fan. I use to base my life around their games, travel from T.O. to Detroit to watch games. This year I have trouble tuning into a game whether we're up 2-1, 5-0, down 0-6, it doesn't really matter, this hockey doesn't appeal to me. I may be a minority on these boards but I know I am not alone. I have nothing against the players (except a few) individually it's a unit as a whole that disgusts me. I have no reason to have anything against the team aside from them being incredibly unentertaining. This happened over time from me watching games... it's not a money issue whatsoever. Again, I am just 1 fan speaking my mind here but I know there are many others who feel the same way. I grew up loving a certain style of hockey, this style is NOTHING like that.

Ron mentioned Lilja trying to fight to Don and he just went off hahaha... now he is just going on and it's kinda funny he's trying to make Ron admit that his wife said at a Wings' game that no one wanted to watch "European hockey". Anyway.... he's just talking about how there is no blue collar workhorses or sandpaper and it's hard to care about the team.

I don't get what the problem is? Ovechkin does celebrate a little too much at times... "act like you've scored a goal before", ever heard that saying? Big goals are one thing, every goal is another... Don Cherry is telling it like it is.
