Oh my god, are you okay?
-
Take care, and better luck next time!

This is a Red Wings' discussion board, not the Stanley Cup parade, so you can check the "but we r da best!!" attitude at the door. You made the decision to drink the kool-aid, I didn't. To each his own.

Doubtful he has any idea who Brian Propp is.

You got involved in this thread because I was being rational (and somewhat joking, urging people to respond) saying that Claude Lemieux could probably beat up anyone on our roster. Realistically I excluded Lilja, but aside from him it's probably true. Isn't it kind of sad when you think about it? That's the message I wanted to get across... before we laugh at a 40-something year old man getting beaten up by the former OHL heavyweight champion, let's take a look at our own team. McCarty pummeling Lemieux was one of the biggest strides this organization has EVER made, EVERYONE knows about that event. Everyone loves it... if Claude hit Draper from behind in our next game against San Jose and the exact same thing happened, realistically nothing would happen to Claude. We don't have a player who would go out of his way for revenge like Mac did. That's just me being honest. A lot of people won't care until it happens but as a "fan", it concerns me. I'm a hockey fan. The Red Wings are my team... the team I support, follow, know everything about, etc... I'm extremely disappointed with the team we've put forth this year and honestly at times it sickens me to watch them... but I still watch every game and follow them every single day. I may be a different fan than you but I still care about the team just as much.

He can't be sent down and there's not enough cap space to just bench him on a regular basis. The team has been waiting and waiting for him to turn into some kind of power forward, hopefully after this year at 27/28 whatever he is, they'll finally pull the cord on this experiment.
-
You'd be surprised how many Red Wings' fans (who don't support this current team) might come out of the woodworks and start showing up at the Joe and making some noise if we actually dressed an entertaining line up that didn't shy away from any sort of physical play. Sorry I don't pretend to love anything Ken Holland throws my way... this brand of hockey isn't even remotely close to the brand I fell in love with, and I'm not willing to pretend it is like a lot of people do.

You're pretty looney, you must be on the back 9 or something. Anyways, it's been said before but this team has never won the Cup without a tough guy in the line up and some sandpaper on our bottom 6. We have no tough guy. We have no sandpaper. I'm a Red Wings' fan, but do not support this team this year. You may say you do, a lot of people on here say they do, but why is attendance so shotty and the crowd is sleeping every game? We're an embarrassment to the old school warriors who help mold this game into what it is. If every team in the NHL was like our team, the NHL would die out, I swear to god. Anyways, no one is really going to realize this until the team doesn't win the cup, because until then we are the "current champions", so I guess there's really nothing else to do now but wait.

Chris Chelios was hands down one of the dirtiest players in the league, no different from Claude Lemieux. Stop calling people young and uneducated because your posts suggest you might be the 2000 version of a Red Wings' fan.
-
Lilja's never destroyed anyone in his career, he'd be able to tie up his arms and probably just tackle him to the ice. Downey is nowhere to be found. I'm not trying to be a dick but I'm just being rational. Claude Lemieux is currently playing in the NHL and let's just say for fun (not really fun) that something did happen in a game where Lemieux mangled someone's face again. Nothing would happen to him, and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.
-
You're too easy. First of all, calm down. You are clearly the one with no knowledge of the past. Lemieux goes after smaller Wings because he's one of the greatest agitators ever, he's also proven he can handle himself with bigger guy if necessary. We aren't wussies because we don't play dirty, we're wussies because we actually are. We win games and that's great, but if you cannot acknowledge that this is basically Team Europe representing Detroit, you're kidding yourself. I'm not sure what you have against me being from Toronto, did you have a bad experience here or something? As for not being able to play hockey, chances are you couldn't hold my jock.
-
You ought to be if you truly aren't.
-
Why, what's going to happen on the 25th? I don't really think anyone who supports this current Red Wings' team has any business laughing at anything regarding a fight. An old, washed up Claude Lemieux could literally kick our entire roster's ass (maybe not Lilja, he might be able to tie his arms up and tackle him). And that's not even a joke. We're that pathetic.
-
my god man I hope you are right... Nathan Horton would be amazing
-
hahahaha yeah I did this too and noticed... I knew it was just a mistake though too good to be true
-
We'll just keep rotating Lebda and Meech back and forth every time they get injured, essentially they are one 1.1 million dollar defenseman. GO WINGS GO
-
like Kevin Garnett....anything is possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Green is Canadian.. we would have drafted a Euro in the 1st round
-
I hope for your sake he is still alive.

the whole fighting debate is idiotic.. it's funny because during the whole thing, it seems like fighting has picked up more than ever more often than not there is a fight in most games (except wings) if two guys want to fight, that's their business if two guys want to take off their visors, that's their business it's like all these hockey "analysts" are basically saying the players are too dumb for their own good... players fight knowing the risk just like people drive cars knowing the risk...just STFU already
-
hahahahah that post is so ridiculous... i must've linked it to at least 10 of my buddies
-
oh my god dude you need a hobby
-
he's not that bad.. it's just his role on the team.. let him play on a line that already has a physical presence and two-way centerman and all of a sudden you have a somewhat physical 4th line winger who has a better skillset than your average 4th line but Maltby-Draper-Kopecky just doesnt work
-
I visit both sites and I prefer Eklund

If we don't pick up Chris Neil then I never want to hear Ken Holland say in an interview that he'd "like to get players who can play, hit, and fight, but those players just aren't available" again. 29, can play, hit, fight, score, energy, cheap, right-handed, proven in the NHL.
