a real quick example here before i head out very early in the 1st period corey perry slashed kopecky during a battle infront of the benches about 3-4 times then gave him a hard gloved shot to the face, both guys being about 6'3 205, kopecky immediately throws his arms up and turns to the ref with his mouth wide open "omg u see that!!!" now if kopecky shoves back and they drop em, kopecky ends up busting perry's nose like he did sharp's last year... does that not set the tempo for the entire game? or better yet, rivalry for the entire year..? was everyone not in shock a couple years ago when lilja dropped em with moen and sammy and niedermeyer were roughing it up? one of the best games in recent years cleary standing up to pronger will be remembered for as long as cleary plays hockey downey beating down parros at the joe last year... maybe the loudest i've heard the joe in years the games have just become so robotic and emotionless.....

I asked if you were entertained because I literally asked myself while watching the game, "do people like this?"... There is 0 emotion in the majority of Wings games, we are just so loaded up on skill that we tend to come out with a win

Did you find the game last night entertaining? Personally I fell asleep mid way through the 2nd period. That's incredible because usually Anaheim games keep me up even at 10:30 starts

some D men just play that way, a forechecker's dream... they seem to really take the saying "take a hit to make the play" to heart.. Lebda is the same way, if he played as much as Robidas does I'm sure he'd have just as much highlight reel hits on him, if he hasn't already

yeah it was a bad decision, no he wouldn't put up 9-10 points like he has now but he is a solid defensive defenseman, who is young and has offensive upside I had the luxury of watching Quincey a lot when he was in GR and he looked like a 10 year veteran when in reality he was only 20, he is soo strong and also very smart, he's the ideal 3rd pairing D-man

Staubitz is a fine combatant for Tootoo. When you are 5'8 you have no choice but to sometimes pick your spots, but this is a guy who's hung in there with Reed Low.... unreal, underrated fighter. EDIT: About this incident... yeah it is a bit cheap, but players should expect this by now. Like I said, when you're 5'8 you have to pick your spots and pick em well, Tootoo is a great fighter because he gets himself so focused and motivated. If you want to get a piece of Tootoo you had better be ready because he certainly is.

Unfortunate for him but it could have as easily been Lidstorm, Pisani actually nudged Lidstrom it looked like, in a high speed race... dangerous...

I don't think I saw the Boll fight but the NHL made a special exception for the Morrow fight because it was in retaliation to the Brown 5 minute major for boarding... I was very surprising when I heard they made this exception, but so happy! Great job by the NHL... instigated fights like THAT are perfect for the game
