wow awesome... can't wait for him to join the Leafs and assemble them into one of the toughest teams in the league like the good old days with guys like Domi, Corson, Marchment, Tucker, Perrott, should be fun to watch
-
I think this video can pretty much sum up your entire post, http://www.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?hlp=8466149 bulls***!
-
haha yeah was just going to say... can you imagine if Crosby's reason to a slow start was his sick grandpa?
-
Kyle Calder just fought... can't believe we got rid of this guy
-
Marian Hossa has been on 3 teams in what, a calender year? So much for that argument
-
McCarty is more than done... I can't imagine how Downey is feeling right now, seeing Mac taking his job after such a superb season
-
because all of his points are secondary assists and all of his goals are empty netters DUH
-
yeah, they do
-
Stop winning Leafs! I think they are aiming for 9th in the conference again
-
Zetterberg and Franzen should stop being such puck hogs and alter their style so that it suits Hudler better!
-
Kyle Quincey's stats on the year aren't: 7 games, 1 goal, 4 assists, 5 points, +3, 6 PIM
-
OK so you just compared Sidney Crosby's accomplishments to Bobby Orr's yet again, like you said dude, you're done in this thread...
-
Everyone loves bringing up Gretzky.... I haven't made a Gretzky comparison ONCE... it's a new brand of hockey and it's hard to compare it to the past... and wow that's nuts that Bobby Orr kept the Bruins in the playoffs for 30 years when his career was like 11 or 12 years hahahahah Bobby Orr won the Norris in his 2nd year that's fantastic... Crosby won the scoring race in his 2nd year... both fantastic accomplishments... Orr is considered by some the greater player of all time.... so what exactly were you trying to prove there? thank god I'm getting tired of pointing out and explaining the basic fundamentals of hockey to some posters on here
-
the stats don't lie do you watch hockey highlights ever? Crosby has elite vision, core strength, and anticipation, it's arguable who's a better set up man him or Joe Thornton you mean besides scoring points, or.... this thread is hilarious, it seems everyone taking Semin's side is like "yeah alright! Semin is so0o0 right Crosby SUX!" and everyone thinking Semin is a dink for flapping his lips about one of the best players in the world has stats to back it up
-
dude you can't rip on an "lol" then bust out a *sigh* and a *shudders* ...not cool! anyways who cares about when the draft is, Ovechkin has had 2 more years of progression than Crosby, he's 2 years older, that's all I'm saying ok you busted out a Babcock quote saying the Sharks and the Rangers are the two best teams in the league, that makes it official eh... over the fact the Pens and Wings went to the finals last year lol and I don't get the whole Lindros thing... he was labelled the most dominant hockey player of his time in his prime and Crosby has had just as much, if not more success in his young career, already reaching the Stanley Cup finals... because Lindros was injury prone and had a soft melon does that mean Crosby will as well? don't really see how that is relevant. all Crosby has done since he's entered the league is produce and progress... sure he gets a TON of hype but he is so humble that he makes a great role model for the game and he's a great player for kids to look up to.. I don't care if people don't like him or don't like watching him but it's an absolute joke that people try to deprive him of what he's accomplished simply because he's the NHL poster boy... is he supposed to NOT help the NHL when they come to him and ask him to try and promote the game..? what exactly do people want? I see NHL commercials all the time that are of players other than Crosby.. is it jealousy that someone so young has already achieved so much more in his life than you have?? are people upset because they've wanted Crosby to fail so bad but he continues to get better and better? he is an unreal player, so is Datsyuk, so is Zetterberg, so is Iginla.. if the NHL chooses to market Crosby in particular because he's young and North American and he continues to be one of the best players year after year how is he an underachiever or not living up to the hype.... doesn't make sense at all
-
not sure why I wasted time replying to you before (and right now) but it's clear you're a tard and know little about the game
-
dude that's nuts that he got partially shut down by the 2 top defensive forwards in the game and the best defenseman for the past decade, only a point per game in the finals... what an underachiever and taking hits to make a play... what an IMBECILE!!!!
-
no I don't know how many secondary assists he had or how many empty netters and I don't give a s***, welcome to hockey bud... lol... failed to show up in the finals eh 6 GP, 2 G, 4 A, 6 P, +1, 50% faceoffs Helm had a great playoff run as well, I agree, but if you're honestly saying he outplayed Crosby then you're a bonehead.
-
I'm just listing off other players who have had a great start to the season so far and may want to chirp their opposition a bit while they have a chance and their voice will be heard.
-
As long as people can accept the fact that Crosby scored over 100 points as an 18 year old and has only improved since, lead his team within 2 wins of the Stanley Cup as a 21 year old, and led the playoffs in scoring, I'm fine with that Gretzky comparisons aside, what does this guy have to do to get a little more credit? He's one of the most humble guys in the league, you'd never hear him lash out and chirp someone like Semin saying his current point total is a fluke and will fade.
-
Amazing, exciting, young, dominant athlete?
-
I'd be interested to hear from the other superstars of the 08-09 season so far about their opponents, like Tkachuk on Iginla, Kuba on Lidstrom, Tim Thomas on Luongo, Voros on Zetterberg, and Dubinsky on Datsyuk!
-
Obviously Ovechkin hasn't peaked, but are you suggesting Crosby has? Anyone who ignores the fact is 21 is just dumb, he's... 21... how many 21 year olds are in the NHL let alone putting up 100+ points at age 18? I'm not comparing Crosby to Ovechkin, they are both equally great in their own right and get the attention they deserve, but Crosby is still 2 years younger. The only fallacy in this thread is that you somehow managed a T in OVECHKINs name, T isn't even in typo distance of E and C... lol Crosby was tied for the playoff scoring race with Z, playing in 2 less games, you know? Oh yeah, he's 21! Are you suggesting San Jose is the best team in the Western Conference then? Clearly you are because you're putting 10-11 games into 08-09 ahead of an entire 07-08 year. Or are you serious when asking me that question? Wouldn't be surprised...
-
Ok... they are good matches... I said he is ONE OF the best offensive players since he's been 18, so you just confirmed that (again... he's only 21). Crosby is a 21 year old captain of the best team in the Eastern conference, I'd say he deserves as much respect as he gets... as does Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Lidstrom when teams are talking about the Western conference. When other teams besides Pittsburgh play, other players are showcased... I guess Semin just wants to let his voice be heard while he's up a few points on everyone else, surely it won't last throughout the year. Speaking of underachieving... what's up with Semin's point totals last year? Let's see this guy win a scoring title or a playoff series before he starts chirping a guy who is already so much better than him, and 3 years younger.
-
Crosby has been one of the best offensive players in the league since he was 18, he's now 21 and arguably the best player in the world. He's such a nice guy to boot. Sometimes his emotions get the best of him on the ice but isn't that what makes the sport so great? Everything hockey is going to be related to Sidney Crosby for the next 15-20 years so get used to it... he deserves all the hype he gets and he handles it so well for such a young guy
