if you want to invade a thread about Downey signing a new contract and give your 2 cents that you think he's a s*** player then just do it and gtfo.... that's all you need to say when you try and bring up individual events like him getting hit and concussed, or knocked over by a bigger player, you're the one who looks like the idiot, trust me... when I bring up s***ty scenarios for all of our beloved skilled players it's the same s*** as you're doing... everyone has ups and downs.... you think he's s***... we get it... move on with your life

I don't know it depends if you will eventually drop em and defend yourself like Cleary did with Newbury a couple years ago then yeah, but if you do like what Datsyuk did against Niedermayer, Franzen did against Walker, O'Donnell, Vandermeer, or like Zetterberg against Malkin, or like Rafalski against Perry or Hossa vs. Getzlaf or even like Stuart did with Backes last year, or like when Lilja turtled to Denis Gauthier couple years back, or Helm turtling to Kunitz if you choose to do it like that then no that shouldn't count.

haha remember when Cleary got his eye busted in that fight against Pronger? rofl! and do you remember when Cleary tried to hit Pronger a couple years ago and did a helicopter spin in mid air? LOL! do you remember when Forsberg annihilated Kronwall behind the net 2 years ago? ROFLMFAORAO remember when Franzen got KO'd from a scrum?! HAHAHA! what about when Lidstrom got KNOCKED SILLY BY LAPPY! HAHAHAHAA! THAT WAS HILARIOUS.. I forget what happened after that in that game because I was too busy laughing

this team was ridiculous though.... probably the softest team in NHL history

Franzen was good in those playoffs though I remember he chipped a couple points in as a 4th liner and that is when he actually used to hit guys, I remember he had a big hit open ice but I think that was vs. Calgary the next year

why do you have a pic of Cleary in your sig didn't you see when that s***ball got smoked over the boards by Seabrook in the Winter classic? remember when he got hit by Pronger too in the playoffs a couple years ago

he delivers more hits than he receives that's for sure... yeah he falls sometimes because he will attempt to finish any hit no matter who it's on (unlike most of this team)... does Helm not fall a lot too?? I see him bounce off guys all the time... for the amount of ice time Downey got in 07-08 I'd be surprised if he wasn't one of our top hit/minutes played ratios... he is unorthodox on the ice but he makes the simple, safe plays, that's what you want out of your 4th line....he was the only one of Draper, Maltby, Drake, Hartigan, Meech, Helm (our 4th line) to not have a negative +/- so he's not a liability... Downey is honestly a fine 4th line player, he plays responsible and gives it his all... he just doesn't look pretty doing so which makes a lot of people think he's horrible

wow Seabrook knocked him over what is your point lol... Seabrook smoked Dan Cleary over the f***in boards in the winter classic in front of MILLIONS.....he gave momentum to Chicago... let's make sure that is mentioned when Cleary signs his next contract cause its so relevant...... clown

because Downey was 1 of the few players I cared to watch last year so I remember most of his incidents... and I checked dropyourgloves.com as well to reconfirm and my review was identical to what I said before... yeah he got knocked over, hard, who cares? he got up and ran right back and Seabrook... he was never dazed or "knocked out", lol

that's a lie... he went to hit Seabrook and yeah he got knocked over hard...but he stayed on the rest of his shift and took a huge run back at Seabrook in front of the benches and was trying to get him to fight afterwards... I'm pretty sure he got a roughing penalty but not 100% on that part.... there was no "wobbly legs" as he came to the bench... nice lie though

I think the fact Cleary is teammates with Datsyuk and Zetterberg would lead to a more bias opinion than just the fact Cleary and Crosby are both Canadian.... not that I'm saying either way is actually bias but it's dumb to suggest that all of the players mentioned so far are reasonable choices, there's no "hands down" or "ridiculous to think otherwise" and s*** like that, people think their opinion is the only thing that matters... Datsyuk, Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Chara... just respect other poster's opinions and see how the votes tally up

They have openly said that they will not be fighting each other. Silva has expressed interest in fighting at heavyweight for a "challenge", I guess he feels there's not much left at 185 or 205.

THE GREAT WHITE NORTH besides Canada I like to see lesser countries have success like Germany, Belarus, Norway, Switerzlan, Latvia, even Slovakia... I think it makes the competition even better
