it'll be Lebda but I wish it was Quincey... I just don't feel confident with Lebda in our own end, he just isn't strong enough
-
Out of sheer boredom I must have looked through atleast 50 St. Louis Blues highlights on NHL.com (the hit section) and didn't find 1 Drake hit

This signing is a little odd because we just signed an aged (not aging) energy player who hasn't had much energy the past few seasons. For 550K I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but I just can't see him rejuvenating his game for an 82 game season + playoffs, but that's not even the worst part, the thing that I'm scared about is if Holland looks at this signing and thinks to himself "yep, I found the guy", when there are still a few suitable FA's out there who are in their prime (ASHAM!)

Delvecchio!

What is the big attraction to Adam Hall that a few people have? Sure he has some size but I've never really seen him use it... I remember him getting drilled by Nedved sometime this year ... he doesn't bring much offensive upside and he is not a very good fighter, nor is he very willing to fight... he's like half of Franzen, I don't see where we would fit him in the line up (especially with Drake here)
-
that should suit him well

Ok, regardless if fighting would help us win more games or not it is always going to be a part of hockey and some fans (myself included) feel almost embarrassed when our players don't stick up for themselves or team mates.. some people can argue that sticking up for each other will build team chemistry and respect and some people just feel the need for it because it's the macho thing to do, this is hockey, macho is good, right? I'm not trying to fire up a debate or anything I'm just filling you in on why a lot of hockey fans feel that it is absolutely necessary to dress a regular fighter every game. Anyways, about the signing of Dallas Drake... I am trying to get myself pumped up for it but I'm having a bit of trouble... just a heads up, this is not another Dan Cleary... Drake is like 10 years older than Cleary... I've always liked Drake and a couple years ago he would have been a great addition to fill this role but I can't really buy into a guy who's skills are decaying and he is very, very slow... His hitting ability is the only thing that can possibly save him, otherwise he is just another logjam on the roster. We DID get him cheap however, so I'll give him the benefit of a doubt... I really hope he can motivate himself and his game and stick around for a solid year or two before retiring

Dan Cleary and probably pasta or just a salad edit: lol my reply was to who he would room with and what he would eat on game day but that post got deleted

the whole reason Holland would go after Lindros is because he doesn't demand a lot of cap space, and if he does play he will be an impact... taking a risk on Hasek last year was more of a gamble considering he was our #1 goaltender, wouldn't you agree? I bet at the time you thought there was "no point" to that etiher
-
for our sake lets hope it is still implemented still...and possibly the removal of fighting all together, and balls, and tradition
-
did you guys really want three 6 mill/year D men when we still need to fill out our top 2 forward lines and sign a goalie?
-
Is Brian Rafalski the type of player that Tomas Kopecky would give up his #28 to? Honestly I couldn't care less I just came across this in my NHL 07 dynasty

I'm 100% sure

Brad Norton would destroy Brad Ference
-
Brendan Smith's brother plays on the same team as him and he is the team enforcer, so if Brendan turns out to be a soft player... it definitely isn't because of his bloodline
-
I'll take Eric Lindros on our 3rd line
-
Chelios wore #24, #7, #24
-
We get our 2008 2nd rounder back because we didn't sign Bertuzzi
-
I'm really hoping we fill out our 4th line with one of Simon, Fedoruk or Asham (preferably Simon)

Lang....Havlat...Handzus... hawks must have a long hair fetish

Bob Probert award - most fighting majors accumulated in one season Joey Kocur award - can be awarded immediately after knocking your opponent unconscious in a fight here is one that I would actually like to be implemented, Gordie Howe award - awarded to the player at the end of the regular season who best exemplifies a dominating physical style of play while contributing greatly to his team's success (not guys like Boogaard, Janssen, this year's winner might be Dion Phaneuf perse)

Besides Canada, what country produces the best hockey players?
skacore replied to a topic in General
if Henrik Lundqvist can be mentioned with Brodeur and Luongo, I think it's fair to list a handful of Canadian D-man beside Mattias friggen Ohlund.. I know I already posted this but 16 Canadian first rounders this year, 1 Swede... 27 of the top 50 point leaders this year were Canadian, 6 Swedes... I agree 100% that for a smaller country, Sweden can put one hell of a hockey team on the ice, and when it comes to international play they are arguable on par with a much larger Canada right now... but when you look at the DEPTH that is what draws the 2 countries apart.. Canada could ice 4-5 teams that could beat Sweden's #2 team, for sure
