I'm from Toronto and Shanahan has always been my favourite player and when he came over here I was maybe 10 or 11, thats about when I started to play a ton of NHL95 and NHL96 and the Red Wings roster just grew and grew on me, when Shanahan left last year it wasn't really a big deal to me, there was no question that I am just a die hard Red Wings fans now no matter who is in the line up... and it doesn't hurt that some of my favourite OHLers (Ellis, Barnes, Bootland) ended up in the system...
-
he has recent NHL experience from 05-06 and is on the Red Wings roster, he's in their database and in our system so... hes there

www.redwingscentral.com has one i dont even think you need to register... this is the 1st game ive used it, its good to catch up on things i miss

I realize Primeau, Yelle, and Hamrlik are needed they just aren't overly physical or intimidating players. I've never seen David Moss play but I've never heard anything about him either. I'm actually in Toronto, and I've seen a ton of people say that the Wings are out first round, I was actually suprised when I saw the votings on TSN. I guess we will see how it plays out tomorrow I just don't see any reason to be intimidated

People are talking about the Flames this year like they are by far the most intimidating team, looking at that line up I really don't see the hype 1: ALEX TANGUAY - CRAIG CONROY - JAROME IGINLA 2: KRISTIAN HUSELIUS - DAYMOND LANGKOW - MATTHEW LOMBARDI 3: BYRON RITCHIE - WAYNE PRIMEAU - TONY AMONTE 4: MARCUS NILSON - STEPHANE YELLE - JEFF FRIESEN Defense 1: ROMAN HAMRLIK - DION PHANEUF 2: BRAD STUART - ANDREI ZYUZIN 3: DAVID HALE - RHETT WARRENER Iginla? Sure, that's a given. Ritchie? Nah. Primeau? Nah. Nilson? Nah. Yelle? Nah. Hamrlik? Nah. Phaneuf? Yeah, he has a tendency to catch guys with their head down, definitely not the most consistent hitter in the league though. Hale? Nah. Warraner? Nah. Look I'm not saying it's a soft line up by any means, and I understand the Red Wings are one of the softest teams in the league, I'm just saying that with all the hype I don't see that line up being anything special, I'd take the bangers in San Jose and Nashville over them. With Regehr, Godard and McCarty out of the line up I think the toughness is over hyped

Wings win 6-1 DET: Zetterberg 2, Datsyuk, Lidstorm, Hudler, Holmstrom CAL: Huselius By the way... is this the line up that is supposed to be sooo intimidating? 1: ALEX TANGUAY - CRAIG CONROY - JAROME IGINLA 2: KRISTIAN HUSELIUS - DAYMOND LANGKOW - MATTHEW LOMBARDI 3: BYRON RITCHIE - WAYNE PRIMEAU - TONY AMONTE 4: MARCUS NILSON - STEPHANE YELLE - JEFF FRIESEN Defense 1: ROMAN HAMRLIK - DION PHANEUF 2: BRAD STUART - ANDREI ZYUZIN 3: DAVID HALE - RHETT WARRENER s***s weak... WIZZZEAK!!! I have no doubts the series will be over in 4-5 games

I doubt it, it's like a monthly thing, I think you have to pay every 3 months? not sure... if you had it all year and didn't know, that sucks for me when I goto the channel it just plays some lame music with a schedule of the games until the game starts then right at game time (e.g 7PM) it goes on air. BTW, if you guys want to get your moneys worth check this out http://www.kusat.com/go.php?path=/mpeg2/viewxtre.php I bought it for like $230 Canadian a couple months ago.. NO REGRETS!!! every NHL game every night, all pay per view events like UFC, Pride fighting, tons of soccer, college hockey, brand new movies, ETC ETC ETC.. it takes like 2 days to ship, very easy to install (it really is), and when Bell blocks it out like one a month its only down for less than 1 hour and you just goto the site and load a very quick fix file for it (takes 2 minutes) the best thing about it is you dont have to worry about monthly fees or anything like Center ice and this will last you through the playoffs and then you can continue using it for uncoming seasons without having to pay more, I think it is a great buy and recommend it, my uncle recommended it to me

I love the fact he is signed, 7 years seems like a lot considering he will be 35 by the end of it... but I'll trust Holland's judgement... for anyone complaining about 6/7 million, it's what he deserves, if he had played on a line with Zetterberg and Bertuzzi all year long he would crack 100 points easily
-
6-1 Wings DET: Bertuzzi 2, Datsyuk, Holmstorm, Lebda, Hudler CHI: Lapointe

I wouldn't believe any of it... I watched the entire game and Hull just made an ass out of himself, he said some of the dumbest s*** it made him look like a real idiot IMO. Some of the other things he said were... penalties shouldn't be called when a blowout game is almost over....good one. and he always talks s*** about younger players who he doesn't know anything about (Kyle Quincey, etc.)
-
he has nothing to offer on our PP, his reactions aren't too great and he doesnt have much of a shot
-
just to make sure this thread goes places... if a player grabbed it and nosedove into his own net, wouldn't it be blown down because he closed his hand on the puck and had possession
-
in that situation I can't blame him, if some dink came at me and threw down without offering a challenge (regardless if he smoked Gagne before it) I wouldn't fight back, what's the point? I have already taken a few licks from him, if he can't offer a fair square off then f*** him, I'm not going to grapple onto him and hold him off for the next 3 seconds until the refs come in and sit off for 5 minutes, he can give my team a 4 min PP. The problem I have with that is that Lilja didn't offer him a challenge later in the game (a D approaching a D is a little different then 2 forwards though) this isn't much, but Lilja bloodied up his nose pretty nice http://youtube.com/watch?v=4ariBFIL96I Kaberg had 5 fights in the SEL that year according to dropyourgloves.com
-
no.... Shea Weber got KTFO by Travis Moen earlier this year
-
props to Lilja for picking out the big boy in the scrum!! I don't think he got tagged or anything I think it's just been so long he felt akward, then once he was off balance that was it... a round 2 would be nice to see, Lilja can handle Moen
-
I think 1 pass is pretty reasonable
-
hahahaha I love the 4 heads smooshed together for thier leading goal scorers

You may or may not be a "fan" of Bootland, personally I would consider myself a fan of Booter, I have had the privilege of watching Bootland and Ellis since their St.Mikes days.. I like a scrap just as much, probably more, than most hockey fans, and it kills me to not have someone in the line up who will stand up for themselves and team mates, but I can't stand how you treat the OTHER call ups who, whether the stats show it or not, are doing a great job replacing our current roster players.. calling these guys "useless scrubs" is what gets under my skin, not the fact that you prefer Booter in the line up over Langfeld, Ellis, & Hussey, because at times I would rather him on the ice too.. everyone on this board is a supporter of the same organization, and we all have our opinions and preferences, we shouldn't have to disrespect other players in the organization just to get our point across
