Forgive me for now going over every post in this thread I only read the first page and a bit, I saw a lot of people saying that Tootoo would be a mismatch for Bootland? I remember in the 04-05 season, Bootland gave it to Tootoo pretty good as the refs had to come in and get him off Tootoo, Bootland challenged him quite a few times after that whenever they played Milwaukee but Tootoo wasn't interested... I know that was a few years ago, but I wouldn't say anyone is outta anyone's league.. and Lou_Siffer... get over Bootland buddy... do you even watch the Wings ever? the 4th line is doing great considering their limited ice time

I really don't think this matters considering what we have to offer.. Hudler/Filppula are the only young guns on the roster with real potential and it's pretty clear Filppula wasn't going anywhere.. so all this does is take Hudler out of the mix, we still have the exact same prospects and picks as we did before lol.. the only thing is if we do trade for a player without moving a roster player, who is sitting out in the playoffs? Is Kopecky not coming back this season?

Aaron Downey wouldn't be an upgrade from Brad Norton, not by playing ability or fighting ability

MacTavish is a *****, no doubt... but I do feel a bit for Lupul, the guy is taking it like a man, and what he said is true... the play was over with, Kronwall had no real reason to leave his feet (I know the hit was clean, I loved it, but it's true) other than to hurt Lupul with a bigger impact.. but what is MacTavish gonna do? dress Stortini? what a joke

ya i know but i think it makes a difference if they have to clear waivers or not, cause i know kopecky and hudler were both on 1 way contracts this year, so they either cracked the Red Wings line up or went down to GR (we would lose both on waivers)

it's not considering leaving the ice unless you have both feet off of the ground, most people lift their closer foot so you can tilt your body and have better leverage

pretty sure Ellis and Bootland are both on 2 way contracts thats why they dont have to clear waivers

yea I've seen that before, pretty pathetic, nothing against Norton though, Downey was the real clown in this vid.. not only does the guy stand back and back up anytime you move forward, but he keeps right fist cocked unlike a lot of fighters who usually go for a grapple off the bat, if you type "Boulerice Downey" in youtube you will probably see what can come of it, but other than the odd fight like that it creates for s***ty long square offs

this is basically what Anahiem has done this year... fill out a roster with skilled players and then basically fill the holes with young, gritty, hungry, team guys

except he has won a cup, playoff experience, proven clutch player, will stand up for team mates, better offensive side

Matt Ellis, 25, is currently leading the Griffins in goals (20), second in points (40), second year captain of the team, kills penalties, takes key face offs, good size, hardly gets 1st line ice time, and his stats have (literally) increased year after year (stats)... what exactly are we looking for in a 3rd/4th line grinder/depth player?
