Abdelkader did score in the playoffs on his only scoring chances... and isn't he projected to be a third line player?? Maybe we should send Datsyuk to Grand Rapids to let him work on being aggressive if he has a scoring chance in the playoffs

you can't earn your way into the line up by scoring back to back goals in the stanley cup finals and amazing rookie season in the AHL, DUHH... you either need to 1) threaten management that you will go play in another country if you're not in the line up or 2) have your waiver eligibility kick in so that the team has no choice but to keep you around..... you didn't know that by now??

I hear you brother but believe me you are preaching to the choir here... people refuse to believe it could be a factor yet fans will openly admit it over and over again

a lot of fans feel differently from you whether you choose to believe it or not

It's funny how much some people refuse to believe this could be a factor in s***ty attendance, even the slightest bit. Are the people who post on these message boards not fans? Lots of posters have openly said that it IS a factor and there was a survey last year that said it was the #1 factor determining whether they'd go to the games or not. That's not proof?

It's not a HORRIBLE trade but you've got to like this one if you're a Flames' fan... Stralman is a good, young asset for a mid-to-high 2nd rounder and they win the other part of the trade as well. A freebie 7th rounder and an OK depth winger for an overpaid aging Wayne Primeau. Calgary wins this one. But from Toronto's point of view something had to be done with all those D and can't complain about a 2nd round draft pick. Not sure how much Primeau will actually play but I guess he'll provide some size and checking ability if he does stay healthy...

I could see them inviting 60/40 NHL to KHL to camp, but they aren't going to leave out NHL stars to get KHL "stars" on the team. I wouldn't be surprised to see some guys from the KHL go to CAMP even if it's just to try and benefit their league there and try and gain some attention, but probably only a couple will make the squad.

there was no "first line" just ran 4 lines that all contributed.. draper's line would often start games but wouldn't be the "first line"...ahh back when we had a real checking line...
