    Detroit's OWN RFA's

I remember we originally signed Gelech to hope he'd become "a Travis Moen type player down the road", damn, should have just picked up Travis Moen I guess

    Oh wow look at that

yea potential two-way power forward who could get like 30-40 goals easily and can fight

    Oh wow look at that

must've been an injury that let him do everything except score i guess, weird

    Blackhawks sign Danny Bois

actually it's more like 1 or 2 guys who will say something like that and then 10+ douchebags will come in and mock them because they want to add toughness to our squad

    Blackhawks sign Danny Bois

I'm not sure he'll be on the Blackhawks this year but he's definitely a good guy to have in the system. I was really hoping the Wings might take a look at him. He's been incredibly consistent in the OHL/AHL putting up 20-30 points and 150+ PIM his entire life, hopefully he'll make the jump to the NHL sometime soon.

Hossa: "Its great to be in a hockey town."

Exactly that's my opinion from the games I watch... don't call me out on it if you are just going to shrug me off when I respond to you

Hossa: "Its great to be in a hockey town."

3 horrible examples, those are the jokes of the league when it comes to being a hockey city, you really want to use them to compare to Detroit? and like I already said (feel like we've taken a step backwards here) if you feel that Detroit is rightfully #2 in attendance that's a joke... no one shows up to games and the crowd is boring as s***

Hossa: "Its great to be in a hockey town."

I'm not saying anything about fans I'm talking about the JOE LOUIS ARENA and the people that are/aren't there on any given night, the Joe is weak, for whatever reason, and definitely not better than most buildings in the NHL... definitely one of the worst to play in

Hossa: "Its great to be in a hockey town."

I didn't say it like that but honestly is that not true? like are you afraid to admit it or something...? I wish the Joe was full and energetic like it used to be but it's not, I'm not going to pretend it is

    what a joke

Hossa: "Its great to be in a hockey town."

this isn't the thread for that but are you suggesting the Joe Louis is packed and energetic? or just being a dick?

Hossa: "Its great to be in a hockey town."

numbers are irrelevant when they don't actually show up and make noise and create energy

Hossa: "Its great to be in a hockey town."

I think he just means it will be nice to play in front of a full crowd rather than just half an arena full and being able to hear them cheer and stuff and feed off them

young, Canadian, big, fights... there is no interest

    Team Russia

All around Canada's top 12 forwards are better IMO, the top 6 offensively are close, possibly an advantage to Russia, but when you have a potential checking line of NHL captains like Morrow-Richards-Doan, that's where Canada has a huge advantage. Better defense too and goalies. Canada is the favourite Russia/Sweden are probably next up USA/Finland have solid teams and could upset Czech/Slovak I think are pretty equal I'd like to see them play each other in an elimination game

    Abdelkader

ehh i don't know if "pick his spots" is really the right wording to describe Shanny...seems so disrespectful to include him with Pronger... Pronger will literally pick his spots by choosing who and when he will fight and that's like once a year.. Shanny will fight anyone (last 2 fights have been Atlanta's enforcer Boulton and Cap's enforcer Brashear), he has his entire career, he just won't go out of his way to cause s*** in his prime he was putting up like 8-10 fights a year against tough company... only guys who would have more than that were straight up goons pretty much

    Abdelkader

but anyway from what's available online on his 5 scraps last year vs. Mike Glumac ... Abdelkader hit someone from behind and Glumac basically jumped him without landing any punches, when they hit the ice Abdelkader flipped him over and threw a couple punches from full mount before they broke up vs. Chad Anderson ... they battle in front of the net and end up dropping the gloves and there's a lot of wrestling but Abdelkader gets Anderson in an awkward position and lands a few more punches than he receives vs. Kelsey Wilson ... from what I've read Wilson beat Abdelkader pretty soundly here. It makes sense too because if I recall correctly Abdelkader missed the next couple of games, and Downey and Wilson had a tilt in the next meeting 8 seconds into the game vs. Jason Jaffray ... pretty wild bout they both come out throwing and it doesn't land too long, Jaffray lands more than Abdelkader does but he is fine afterwards vs. Doug Janik ... a lot of wrestling, neither could really get an arm free but they exchanged a few weak punches hopefully Abdelkader will be a two-way forward who will defend himself through out his career, I'm thinking in the Mike Fisher mold
