I sure hope he does! I'd love to see that! I agree, it feels right. Its like a Modano or Hull or Robitaille. All came to Detroit for that "last run". Seeing Teemu in red and white would be awesome. I wonder what number Abby would change too? Congrats to Selanne though, quite the accomplishment and quite the career so far. I think he still has gas left, from watching him he doesn't show signs of being old/aging. But then again I am not in his body

Banner Hanging in Bridgestone Arena (Predators)

I am speechless. -
Its simple.... MacDonald >>> Conklin. I am all for this, and much more confident and at ease with JMac being our #2 goalie.

Yes and no. It depends what kind of project it is and the amount of work involved. The person below me is a movie buff/junkie. Oops... I was to slow. Heres this one: Nope I will not... European possibly (Mercedes, BMW, etc) but nothing else. The person below me is a movie buff/junkie.

I have eaten a hot dog there but I don't think for a dollar. ( I did have dollar pretzels though!) The person below me is afraid of heights.

I don't like eating at restaurants by myself, nor movie theaters or anything of that sort. The person below me has a shoe fetish (always buying new shoes).

YEAH STUART!

Yeah Moen doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me either... I don't really see how adding him will do anything more for us then what we have already...

Turn on NHL12 and see if it works!? Lol just kidding. I think that could work. I mean look at the names you mentioned. That would certainly help the Blue Jackets team as a whole. I think if I was the GM of Columbus and LA offered me those three names and some prospects and picks it would be hard to say no. They fix their goaltending, get a solid forward who somewhat replaces an unhappy Nash, a young solid stay at home defenseman and they picks and prospects on top of it to further develop the team. That would be a huge blockbuster. I agree, it won't happen with the wings. We can all have some wishful thinking though!

I think this team is starting to finally come in to fruition. They are starting to gel, and I actually think this team is kind of like a Detroit modeled team. They have there solid top 6 which each have their respectable roles and they there bottom 6 who I think are one of the better bottom 6 in the league. Also have some higher ranked prospects that are available for call up. Then of course there is King Henrik who is one of the best goalies in the league. They have a decent defensive corpse as well. I think they will make it to the 2nd or 3rd round. They are on the right path they just need a year or two more of experience.

Now see, that's kinda what I was trying to say. This trade would be much more likely and reasonable. They have all the pieces it would take to get Nash but I don't see him waiving his NTC to go to LA. I feel like he would want to play in a true hockey market with a huge fan base and a rich history. I could totally be wrong but thats just my own speculation there. But what you said makes perfect sense for the Jackets and LA has the weapons to give for him.
-
Right? I mean now he gets to sit home on top of his millions (and Hillary's millions too) and relax and make babies. (Hopefully his hip doesn't give out ) Such a hard life... poor guy. Must be nice!!! In all seriousness though good luck to his "future endeavors". PS. Wow Mrs. Duff sure looks good, I knew she always was good looking but don't recall her looking that good!

Its understandable they want a centerpiece but that doesn't for sure mean our top guns. A centerpiece could be a high end prospect, 3 first round picks, etc. Just because they said that doesn't mean it has to be a prolific player. But I agree with your second statement. Just not going to happen. Boy do I wish it would though. Nash I think is so under rated. He's on a straight up piece of s*** ass team. If he played with overall better talent, he'd be lights out. Look at him when he played for Canada in the last Olympics. The guy was a complete animal. EDIT: I never once said you didn't understand trades, I voiced my opinion. Don't get all rattled over it. There team is doomed either way. They are damned if they do trade him and they are damned if they don't.

Is it 7:30 yet? +1 if you are an impatient sons'a ***** that cannot wait for game time!

I think you are off your rocker... No offense. Look at years prior to teams that send away there "franchise player" or a huge asset. They almost never trade a star for star and them some. Perfect example is Kovalchuck; you didn't see the Devils send Elias or Parise or anyone of that stature back to Atlanta (RIP lol). If the Blue Jackets were going to make something happen with Detroit the name Zetterberg wouldn't even come out of anyones mouth during discussions. EDIT: I forgot to add, teams that usually trade away their top tier talent are 90% of the time going into "rebuild mode". In saying that these teams want young fresh high potential prospects or high end picks to rebuild. Not top talent veterans from the other parties.

I hope he isn't phased either. I heard they were trying to come up with something for him to give him a litter extra cushion to insure his safety. I think he'll be good to go. I was wondering the same thing about MacDonald though. I hope he's our backup. He has been excellent as our backup in the time he's played. Sorry Conklin but bye-bye. As much as I want JMac as our backup I think it'll still be Conklin sadly to say.
-
YOU DON'T SAY THAT! Heres hoping to make the streak "untouchable" and win as many f*ckin' home games in a row! (Also we get a boat load of points and sit pretty atop the West)!!! GO WINGS!!!
-
Well its Nash's call or its a no go. If wants to play for Detroit, Columbus sucks it up and trades him for a return or they keep him. Division trades do happen, maybe not as much as outside of the division but its possible. Its even more likely when a player has a NTC. Do I think the Wings will actually get Rick Nash? Eh not really; probably slim to none. But hey I would love the guy to be a Red Wing. Did I think we had a shot at Hossa? Hell no! Hasek? Hell no! Those both happend. Look at what we traded for Hasek too... (yeah he was getting somewhat older but still). s***, even look at the Tigers signing Prince Fielder... Detroit was NEVER mentioned and wasn't considered an option and then BAM, they signed him. Yes we are talking about a trade here but my point is it is a possibility, just an unlikely one. As far as who I would give up...? Hard choice. Wings draft scouts seem to always pick "diamonds in the rough" (solid late round picks) so I wouldn't be mad if they traded a 1st/2nd rounder or two. I'd try to sell them on picks and some of our replaceable prospects. I wouldn't mind trading Emmerton, Mursak, etc. No way I'd trade Jurco, Smith, Nyquist. I'd consider trading Tatar as well. Maybe sell them on that their goaltending is awful and add McColloum? Roster players I'd consider moving are ALMOST any of the bottom six. As good as Filppula is doing, trade him while hes "on the up". NASH >>>> FILPPULA! I'd want to hang on to Franzen, but I would exchange him in Flippula's spot. Erricsson can go as well if they want him. I would like to think some kind of package of the names and picks I stated would work... Again though in all reality I give Detroit a 0-12% chance of landing Nash.
-
Yeah its mentioned here... (NYR rumor that is). I just don't see how the Rags can keep adding all these expensive players and fit them all under there cap. I didn't actually go and check there cap hit or anything thought. But with all the young stars and then Lundquvist and Gaborik and Richards it seems like they won't have a ton of room. Edit: Forgot to include the link: http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/nyr120211.html

So geeked for this game!! Let's push that streak to 21! Hope to see Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen, and MacDonald have stellar proformances!

I think I forced to believe a few of them when they are Wings related and benifit us lol! The person below me has purchased a $300.00+ bottle of alcohol.

Is Nicklas Lidstrom The Greatest Detroit Red Wing Of All Time?
Hockey13Playa replied to up2here's topic in General
Way to hard to just clearly give this title to one specific Red Wing. Lidstrom is up there for sure but I still have a hard time thinking of anyone but Yzerman. I mean look at the team before he came... he turned the "dead wings" franchise around and delivered successful (to an extent) seasons year after year. Since his time with the wings, they've been nothing but a dominant franchise. I know there obviously is other pieces to the puzzle but I think he was the "foundation". Even after tying that clarifying that I believe its Yzerman, Lidstrom does deserve some substantial credit. I didn't mention Howe because look at those jerseys in the rafters, all the top dogs, if you will, that played with him. Yzerman had a supporting cast no doubt but not until the 90's. Through the 80's and early 90's her carried the Wings on his back. Looking in the rafters do you see other players from his era? Nope... (Lidstrom eventually). Which is why I give him the nod over Howe, and over Lidstrom. I hope my rambling mess makes some sense... -
I certainly do, and I think I am going to eat a string cheese now! The person below me loves reality tv.
