Sad to see MacLean go, I really like him. This is going to be one busy off season...
-
What a team, I miss these days... So many fantastic players to watch night in and night out. The Detroit All Stars. Gotta love it!
-
Good read from Detroit Sports Nation. Here is the link with the full article with what players could be changing sides: http://detroitsportsnation.com/component/content/article/94-nhl-columnists/13718-flyers-wings-trade-partners I personally think they are really going to push to ship out Hudler, and if he under performs still with a new club, his contract is soon expiring and will be off the books. A team looking to shed some salary I think would take him. I would love to have Jeff Carter in Detroit but I don't know if Holland would want to acquire another huge salary... Interesting read none the less. All three of the d-men they say are available don't really spark my interest, but I wouldn't be against having one come to Detroit for the right price. Who would you say yes and no to from the Flyers players in that article?

Latest Rumor: NHL Team Expected to Announce Rebranding in 2012
Hockey13Playa replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
The reason I don't see this being the change is because from the original post it says something that never has been done before. I believe that this has been... -
Pronger really? No thanks.
-
That sounds great to me! However I think you are on cloud 9 now. No way they would trade Richards. If they do I apologize and Holmgren is crazy! Richards or Carter would make me smile. I'd be glad to acquire either or.
-
Sometimes I hate when people say oh such and such player sucks, playoffs are horrible, doesn't produce, etc. I understand the frustrations but sometimes its just a player doesn't fit well with that team. Look at Lieno, terrible here and tore it up in Philly. I think a change in scenes could spark something for Carter. I guess its all a risk.
-
Just a little more food for thought to spark conversation... http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/phi110608.html Looks like Carter is the front runner for the one being shopped/moved. ^^^ I am with you Puckbags, GET ERR DONE KENNY. Put Carter in the most elegant, beautiful, prestigious NHL jersey of all time; A WINGS JERSEY!
-
No way Smith would be on the second line defense. About a 5% chance to see that happen, otherwise looks solid ( not the way the line combos are set but the roster looks good)
-
Even though in my previous post I said I like these top two lines I tend to agree with you. At least the past two seasons they seemed more explosive leading there own lines. If that was the case and we traded for Carter maybe we could turn it into more of a block buster trade since we would have a log jam at the center position. Trade Filppula in the deal as well and receive Carle or Corburn? Just an idea.
-
Previous post on the first page stated this as well with a link. The player mentioned was Voracek. If you read some previous posts, I said my reasons on why I didn't think that it would be a smart move for Philly to make that deal.
-
I think that looks good, those first two lines are dynamite. Also they are interchangeable if less production starts to occur. No matter what way you change them around I think they are two very solid "top 2 lines". Like the third line as well, and the fourth has a grind line feel to it. Looks good to me. Then the rest of the money, well most of it, can be used to lock up some solid defenseman. I am a total fan of this idea.
-
+1 my friend! Gave me a good afternoon chuckle.
-
True in a way... but I would like to think even though the main concern here is cap relief they don't want to just trade Carter away for nothing, or any of the defenseman. Voracek is a restricted free agent; so you know he is going to command a raise. At times he's been stellar and other times he's been a ghost. I don't think they would deal Carter for him just to lose him via free agency. They'd get nothing out of the deal. Maybe if a sign and trade could happen so they know what they would be working with? Like I stated above some GM's have preference trading with other GM's that they know well or get along with. We might have a little leverage there with Holland and Holmgren. I still think the offer Konnan made is a sweeter deal for Philly then what Columbus would offer.
-
Ugh. That is not what I wanted to see lol. The wings and Flyers and done business several times when it comes to trading players, so with Kenny Holland and Paul Holmgren being familiar with one another maybe that will provide a little leverage? Hey shooting for the stars here...
-
Count my vote! I think if we could SOME HOW land Carter and Coburn for Mursak, 2nd, Abdelkader, and even Hudler, that would be a great deal for us. I would even consider uping our 2nd round pick to a 1st, we always steal players late in the draft anyways. Carter is money and would make it worth while.

Latest Rumor: NHL Team Expected to Announce Rebranding in 2012
Hockey13Playa replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
Many of us think of the South as being the teams you mentioned, but if you look at the league as a whole there are more teams... Dallas, Anaheim, Los Angeles. No way L.A., Dalas possible chance with new ownership on the way and a lack of a strong identity since the edge jerseys made there way into the leaguem and Anaheim is a mess so a slight chance there. -
Latest Rumor: NHL Team Expected to Announce Rebranding in 2012
Hockey13Playa replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
The reason I still don't think its either Florida or Phoenix is because with Florida putting out new jerseys it would be a waster of a years marketing and spending money on producing the new home and away's. As for the Coyotes, they are on the brink of going bankrupt they have no money as it is, and a rebrand is rather expensive. HOWEVER... if a powerful wealthy owner buys the Coyotes and keeps them in Arizona then I could see this happening; but I don't. The stars have a rich history going back to the Minnesota days and have won a cup in Dallas but if you read some of the posts on the link provided in the original post then there are some good points brought up. Could all just be a false alarm but its good food for thought. -

Well according to the OP on CCSLC its new everything, new logo, colors, name and all. New jerseys isn't really a rebrand as to there still the "Florida Panthers" and are using there logos they currently have. -

http://www.icethetics.info/blog/2011/6/6/panthers-see-red.html That link is further proof on why I don't think it is Florida. Seems like that would be a waste of money and time to do something like this and then a year later rebrand the whole entire franchise. I guess you never know though. -
Latest Rumor: NHL Team Expected to Announce Rebranding in 2012
Hockey13Playa replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
The reason I don't think Florida is because next season they are supposed to bring back a newly designed home and away jersey and are also bringing back the red at home full time. With a jersey rebrand for the up-coming year it doesn't make sense to do that then a year later rebrand the whole team all together. Seems like they would just wait. I know Nashville and Carolina are successful but just my personal speculation. -
VAN/BOS: 4-1
