This was the LAST thing I wanted to see on these forums. Seriously Kenny, Malt's has been good for us for many years but his time has come, do the Redwings and all of us a favor and move on. Graet career Maltby but you are no longer valueable to the Redwings or NHL team for that matter

What do you think about making a pitch for Afinogenov? I don't think he will command to much money. I think he'd be a solid pick up for the Redwings 3rd line. Maybe see some 2nd line minutes if he proves he can play and step his game up (after recent slumps with Buffalo and Atlanta). A one-two year deal wouldn't be so mad in my opinion. Totally understandable. If I was Russian I probably would want to as well. I feel like though players are acting some what like "traitors". Either play in the NHL and finish your career in your native land, or start in your native land then come play in the NHL. I don't like really seeing players jump ship back and forth between leagues. With saying that hopefully Max stays in the best league in the world, the NHL.

I don't think he'll go to the KHL. If he does f*ck him. I cannot stand the KHL. I know its a business. But I hate them nagging onto our NHL players and pulling them across seas. Yes I am biased but ugh. Jagr, Fedorov, Zubov, etc. Regardless I wouldn't mind getting Max if the "price is right".

So tonight I went to Detroit to watch the tigers play the Pirates. They played good and had a solid win 6-1. After the game I was headed out to Cheli's bar where I saw Chris Chelios! I went up to him and talked to him for a few minutes and I got a picture with him! The main reason I started this topic was because of a specific question I asked him.. If he is coming back next year. His response was " No I don't think so. Its that time, enough is enough and I don't feel I have anything left". So as it appears he is retiring and his career is coming to a close. Sad to see, I didn't expect that response from him at all. What's everyones thoughts/opinions/comments...?

Man whatever happened to Cheechoo. That guy really has slid downhill, and quite fast I may add. He was on top of the league what; three or four years ago? Now he is almost worth no more then a hockey trading card. I agree with the comments on Moreau but he is one of those guys I just never liked. I don't have a reason at all, I just don't like him. Something about him, lol. But like you both stated he would fit in well here.

Haha thanks, I had to add a little fuel to the fire. But no big deal its on track now. Yeah he was totally cool, and really chill. I am kicking myself now for not asking him if he plans to stay in the hockey business as coach or something along those lines. It would be totally cool to see him up next to Bab's serving as the Defense coach. He would make a hell of a coach and would do wonders for our Defense I think.

He could of rejected their offer because they are just absolutely horrible! I sure as hell wouldn't want to play for that team. Money or not... But if we sign him to a one year deal I don't see that hurting us much, with the option of maybe a second year. I can imagine he'd spark a little offense. What you said is true about taking shifts off and all of that but maybe being on a team such as Atlanta he didn't really care or try. I think he would have a different outlook playing for Detroit. At least he better...

One of the few Av's players I liked. This guy was so dynamite. I wish he still played. He would be if it wasn't for that damn foot! Love the video. Gotta give props to Foppa.

I really like Brad Stuart, he is so consistent and plays a solid game. He may not put up numbers but he sure as hell does play a good defensive game. Not to mention his BEA-U-TI-FUL game 7 goal against the Coyotes. He stole the puck and had that breakaway and scored. Man that pumped me up!

I have to put Modano at number one. He has been my favorite NHL player for a while so as follows, 1. Mike Modano 2. Brett Hull 3. Chris Chelios 4. Mike Richter 5. Keith Tkachuk** Ok so top 3 then, not 5. But those are my top 5. ** I could swap this one out with a few players. It was a hard choice to make. Haha besides his immaturity and what he did. I kinda like him, I think that hes a really good player. I think once he actually matures from a boy to a man he will gain a little more respect. Sorry lol. I try to keep my grammar good for the most part, but I do make mistakes. The night I typed that I was a little intoxicated as well. I am most positive that didn't help the cause.

Definitely in my top 5. I am glad I got to meet him, gotta love meeting class act athletes. Especially after watching him for so many years.

That's what I was thinking too lol. Since the Flyers are my favorite team I wish they added him for the playoff run. Otherwise its just meh.

I agree I feel as if the next wave of NHL stars wont bring the same memories and intensity to the sport. Seeing all the Yzerman's, Sakic's, Brodeur's, Leetch's etc are gone, I miss that era...

I don't mean to be an ass but Kane is from Buffalo. There was nothing wrong with his shout out to "his boys" in Buffalo. People here do everything they possibly can to look down and bash on players on opposing teams. It's ridiculous. Yes the taxi incident was uncalled for but his shoutout was totally fine. Get over it.

I should of asked him what his plans were if he continued to stay with hockey in some form, but I was a little buzzed so I didn't even think that. But hes a really chill guy. Definetly cool and not cocky or antyhing. I wish however he'd still play and continue to break records for being the oldest, most games, etc etc etc.
