I feel a bit sorry for Filppula really. If only Holmstrom hadn't been injured he'd likely be playing with Bertuzzi and Cleary. And as much as everyone loves him, I don't think Cleary belongs on the 2nd line.

Very interesting idea. I like your idea of having a choice whether to double up a game or not, therefore at the end if it were close say the 2nd position person could go for the double up and score two, the top person might then lose a point. That'd hurt! PS. Brett, you haven't included your double up game and I'll see about your score last week.

It seems some people think it should be one set game, others think it should be their own choice. I can see the reasoning for both. I understand that some games seem like guarantees but really, a lot of upsets happen so I'm expecting to often see the doubled up teams lose. And besides, that's the whole point, you should be scoring two points off your selected game. Again, if a few more people feel it should be one set game I'm happy to change it.

Disagree, I think his play was more than acceptable. The "if he wants to" comment relates to his poor attitude before he came to North America and his struggles this season. Babcock knows that it's been one knock on him throughout his career (not during his stay with the Griffins though) and so he wants to send the message that if he keeps playing hard, he'll eventually have a spot in Detroit.

Did we give up on Torquato too soon? Probably not, but he's been in red hot form for the Otters for the past 2 months. Back to back 4 point games, 13 points from the past 4 and he's well on track to make this the most productive season of his OHL career. Yes he should given he's playing against guys younger than him but he is highly skilled and I'm interested to know whether he improved his skating enough to possibly be NHL material.

Finally our line-up is starting to look more like the Detroit Red Wings. I'd prefer to see Leino in over Miller though, Miller's been pretty ineffective of late whereas Leino was just starting to improve his play.

A few have taken a hit and have fallen a fair bit, on the flipside quite a few have risen significantly. Basically it's a bit more even. Some when looking at their position might think they've been harshly done by, and in a way they have, but basically everyone's in a similar position but the players have all been brought closer together. I was also thinking maybe just drop weeks that people have actually participated, therefore if your 4 lowest scores were 5, 6, 7 and 0 the 0 would still count. But then we'd still have the same issue of people falling so far behind if they miss weeks. I guess at the end of the day using this system the best pickers are still rewarded, just those who are super consistent might have been penalised. Worth noting that your position might look worse than it is because some who no longer regularly enter their picks have had three zero's dropped. I'm willing to hear suggesstions in order to get it fair. If people think this is right, which I'm happy to do, then I'll do this. At the start of the season I was considering doing a 'double up' game which is worth two points. For example: Friday: Detroit @ Los Angeles x2 Meaning if Detroit win, I get 2 points instead of just one. Every week someone picks a team to double up and have a chance for two points. It's their lock of the week. However maybe I'll just save that for next season.

I absolutely HATE pulling the goalie. If a team can't score, one more player won't help. Flip loses his + rating, Eaves falls to -3. HATE it.
