To his credit he improved a lot in the 2nd but still, intensity needs to improve. He needs to take a leaf out of Ritola's book who is always buzzing out there. One thing we can agree on though, how good is Mursak?! This kid is good, real good.

Watching the Griffins game today, in all honesty, he might as well go home. He's somewhat painful, barely giving an effort. You can see his obvious skill, but he's floating.

Tardif, after having about 3-4 attempts at jamming the puck past their goalie, finally put the puck past the line but the whistle came just after and the ref waived it away. Ah the Wings/Griffins sure do have luck with the whistles don't they...

Larsson is in net tonight, looking very sharp too. Tatar just got hammered to the ice by none other than Jeff May. Former Wings prospect, interesting. GREAT penalty killing by the Griffs, Rissmiller exceptional.

Abdelkader on the second line? Yes please! Not a whole lot has been said about his play this season but I think he's been real solid; strong defensively and also playing physical. He deserves this oppertunity.

Kindl, Tatar, Nyquist, Smith and Mursak are our top 5 prospects. Some might consider McCollum/Emmerton/Ferraro in that group. Bound to be one or two NHL stars in this group.

Granted Axelsson is a far superior player to Ryno, but he should check out Ryno's stats and see how the move home is working out for him...

This season has been such a disappointment for Axelsson. Coming off a very successful season in the SEL I was expecting big things from Dick and he's been extremely ordinary. A healthy scratch half the nights and invisible in the others, perhaps it is best for him to go home because it's just not working. How much of that can simply be put down to his apparant poor attitude remains to be seen. If he doesn't stick around, his chances of a career in Detroit significantly decrease.

Brind'Amour is -19 in 28 games? No wonder he was scratched, that's awful.

There's no disputing the fact that Leino has sucked big time this season however he is still young, inexperienced in this league and I'm far from prepared to write him off yet. He was too good in his brief stint here last year, as well as in limited minutes during the playoffs, too be written off. As for Eaves, the kid is playing great, has a +/- rating that leads the team and I've been calling for him to be paired with Datsyuk for a while now. One thing about Eaves is that he has a very underrated shot.

Watched the Griffins game tonight, this kid is sick. He's the real deal. Scored his 4th goal of the season, meaning he's on a 3 game goal streak. He has 7 points in the past 4 games. He's got 10 points in 14 games and is a +7. His skill level is ridiculous. Nice skater, went end to end tonight but had no one to pass it to. Great passer, goes hard to the net and has scored some garbage goals this season, so along with his skill he can score from pure hard work. Cycles the puck well, knows where to be, and even though his lack of strength is his main issue right now, there's nothing that I can see that would prevent him from being in Detroit in the next year or two. Next season when (in all liklihood) we lose a few free agents, is he a smokey to be up here? IF he keeps up this production, and puts in the work over the off-season, I don't see any reason why not.

WORST WEEKEND EVER!!! The only thing that went right was Detroit winning today. I think only a few people made it into double figures. I've got an embarrassing score, and you know you've sucked when someone misses a whole day and still comfortably beats your score.

Eaves is a real good player, desperately hoping we re-sign him. He's putting up points at a very decent clip, I'd love for him to get a shot with Datsyuk. Guess what? His +8 rating is leading the team, 2 clear of the next best (Lidstrom).
