Found this post from last off-season... Eaves A bit hard to read but does go to show how good defensively he is. 10 games, 4 points and +5. I so hope he re-signs after the season.

Milwaukee Admirals (6-5-0-2) @ Grand Rapids Griffins (9-4-0-0) 7:00 pm EST Tonight's Player in focus: Dick Axelsson Considered to be one of Detroit's top offensive prospects, Dick has made an impressive start to his North American career as he is 2-3-5 in 10 games. He's been unlucky not to have a lot more points as his strong play has often been unrewarded. He will only improve as the season wears on. In the inaugural player in focus, Pare recorded two assists. The Grand Rapids Griffins will search for their 9th consecutive win when they met the struggling Milwaukee Admirals. Kris Newbury has been in red hot form and he has a point in the past 6 games, and Jakub Kindl is picking up after a slow start to the season as he has 5 points in 6 games. Jeremy Williams is on a 3 game goal streak and he leads the team with 8 goals on the season. Thomas McCollum is likely to get the start tonight unless Larsson is sent back to Grand Rapids but that is unlikely to occur. McCollum missed the previous game with a bruised hand so fingers crossed he is fit and ready to play. Projected lines: Ritola - Newbury - Mursak Axelsson - Rismiller - Williams Tatar - McGrath - Tardif Vigilante - Emmerton - Pare (Walsh) Kolosov - Kindl Crosty - Pyett Janik - Delmore (Piche, Ehrhardt) McCollum Centomo Individual Leaders: Goals: Williams (8), Tardif (5) Assists: Newbury (8), Kindl (6) Points: Newbury (11), Williams (9), Emmerton (8) PIM: Newbury (58), Crosty (53) Plus/Minus: Emmerton (+9), Janik (+6), Pare (+5) Past 5 Games: 2-1 Win vs. Lake Erie (Nov 11 2009) Final SO 8-6 Win vs. Lake Erie (Nov 8 2009) Final 5-4 Win vs. Chicago (Nov 6 2009) Final 3-1 Win vs. Houston (Oct 30 2009) Final 2-0 Win vs. Houston (Oct 29 2009) Final TV/Radio: Internet stream: See drumnj's stream Grand Rapids Radio Broadcast AHL Scores page

Yeah stream is normally perfect but tonight it was having a few issues so I eventually gave up also. Griffins won in OT 3-2! Another come from behind victory. What I like about this team is that they have so many players who can contribute. Janik had a goal and assist and was +2 tonight, along with the games 1st star. Tatar had an assist and Pyett and Emmerton assisted on the game winner. 9 in a row!
-
Down 2-1 to start the 3rd. C'mon lads. To anyone watching, uk_redwing, don't you agree that Ritola is awesome? Strong on the puck, makes good passes and is playing more physical than ever before.
-
1-1 with 6 minutes remaining in the 3rd. McCollum doing a good job thus far. Ritola with the lone goal, nice to see Newbury continue his assist streak.
-
Just me or a very tough weekend to pick? Watch me score an 8 or 9... Friday: Minnesota @ Washington NY Islanders @ Carolina Anaheim @ Columbus Calgary @ Buffalo Los Angeles @ Atlanta Toronto @ Chicago Saturday: NY Rangers @ Ottawa Calgary @ Toronto Washington @ New Jersey Buffalo @ Philadelphia NY Islanders @ Florida Anaheim @ Detroit Boston @ Pittsburgh Los Angeles @ Tampa Bay San Jose @ St Louis Montreal @ Nashville Dallas @ Phoenix Vancouver @ Colorado Sunday: Minnesota @ Carolina Edmonton @ Atlanta San Jose @ Chicago

If I had to make an 'awesome' group, it would contain Datsyuk, Eaves and Helm. Abdelkader is the first reserve.
-
This sucks. I can't get a good quality stream and now the radio feed has died. It's a matter of watching Yahoo update the play now. Joy.
-
Eaves is a beauty. He's fast, physical, VERY responsible defensively, good on the PK and also, perhaps something which isn't recognsied as much as it should be, his shot is really underrated. Was pumped when I heard he signed here and am so glad he's found his role and that the fans are beginning to appreciate him as a player.

Lake Erie Monsters (6-8-0-0) @ Grand Rapids Griffins (8-4-0-0) 12:00 pm EST Can the Griffins win their 8th straight game when they take on the visiting Lake Erie Monsters?
-
Nice fight! Good win by the Griffins. Outshot the Monsters significantly so perhaps unlucky not to win by a few more. Good to see Larsson with a strong game and Newbury continued his point streak. 8 in a row!

Grand Rapids Griffins (7-4-0-0) @ Lake Erie Monsters (6-7-0-0) 3:00 pm EST Tonight's Player in focus: Francis Pare (Absolutely no rhyme or reason behind this!) Pare put up an impressive 24 goals and 48 points in his rookie AHL season, enough to get him a contract with Detroit. His play to start this season however has been underwhelming with zero goals and 3 points in 9 games. He did look good against Chicago though picking up an assist. The Grand Rapids Griffins finally take to the road as they visit the Lake Erie Monsters. They will face Lake Erie again on the 11th back at home. Last years captain Darren Haydar is the Monsters main man as he leads their team in scoring with 4 goals and 10 points. The Griffins are on a six game winning streak while Lake Erie have dropped their past 2 games. The Griffins will be looking to improve on their 1-4 W/L record away from home. The Griffins have recorded 6 straight wins, all at home, and will be full of confidence heading into this evening's game. Cory Emmerton has been impressive of late and is on a 3 game point streak (2-2-4). Evan McGrath meanwhile has registered a point in 6 of the past 7 games as he stakes a claim to be called up by Detroit. Kris Newbury is also on a 4 game point streak. McCollum is expected to start tonight. Projected lines: Axelsson - McGrath - Tardif Ritola - Newbury - Mursak Vigilante - Emmerton - Pare Tatar - Rismiller - Williams Janik - Kindl Delmore - Pyett Ehrhardt - Kolosov (Piche) McCollum Larsson Individual Leaders: Goals: Williams, Tardif (5), Mursak (4) Assists: Newbury (6), Janik, Nylander (5) Points: Newbury (9), Tardif, McGrath (7) PIM: Newbury (58), Crosty (32) Plus/Minus: Emmerton (+5), Tatar, Ehrhardt, Janik, Rissmiller (+3) Past 5 Games: 5-4 Win vs. Chicago (Nov 6 2009) Final 3-1 Win vs. Houston (Oct 30 2009) Final 2-0 Win vs. Houston (Oct 29 2009) Final 6-1 Win vs. Abbotsford (Oct 25 2009) Final 4-3 Win vs. Toronto (Oct 24 2009) Final SO TV/Radio: Internet stream: See drumnj's stream Grand Rapids Radio Broadcast AHL Scores Page

Not sure what to do about this one, the Dallas/Minnesota game. I think you intended to pick Minnesota judging by the bold when I quote it, if so I'll give you the pick and you'll then move to joint leader with 15.

Ritola= win. Oh so many levels. He's pretty much pure awesome.
-
What. The. Heck?! Just woke up to see 8-6! 8-6!!!! At least we won!!!! And seems like a few of our prospects had good games. Emmerton now has 4 goals in 2 games and was +4 tonight. Ritola had a strong one judging by stats. Can't believe McGrath didn't record a point from 8 goals, neither did Axelsson or Tatar.
-
I'm guessing the news will only get worse.
-
-
Maybe, fingers crossed it's not the case, but maybe they'll reveal more significant injuries when they do further tests.
-
Whatever dude. Watch the games, watch the flow of the PP and you might notice the difference. That's if you can't see past your Filppula hate.
-
I'll be fun to watch. Ritola has a bright future with Detroit whereas McGrath is playing like he wants one. If either are called up it'll be exciting to see what they can offer.
-
I miss Eaves. And Filppula, our 2nd PP unit is terrible without him. Call up Ritola please.
-
There are a couple of Griffiins who could fill in and do a fine job. Ritola? Looked great during the PS and is a typical Red Wing type of player. Evan McGrath? Been in the AHL for 4 seasons, is playing exceptionally well, deserves a shot. Maybe Newbury or Williams? Maybe Tardif. I say Ritola or Williams.
-
I still remember and am spewing about the Robert Lang for Tomas Fleischmann trade. Flash scored 2 more goals tonight, 7 points (5 goals) in 6 games.
