Chicago Wolves (5-6-0-1) @ Grand Rapids Griffins (5-4-0-0) 7:00 pm EST The Grand Rapids Griffins will look for their sixth consecutive win when they take on the visiting Chicago Wolves. The Wolves sit bottom of their division however they have won 4 of their past 5 games, perhaps due to the steadying influence of Chris Chelios who will be in uniform for Chicago as he looks to gain an NHL contract. He has a goal and 7 points in 6 games. Unsure as to whether Delmore is back from injury, if he is perhaps hard hitting rookie Piche will sit. Tatar will probably play as the decision on the whereabouts of his immediate playing future looms for the Wings. The line of Ritola/Newbury/Mursak has developed some chemistry as a physical, gritty and defensively responsible line. Larsson should start tonight and look to continue on his recent run of strong form. Projected lines: Ritola - Newbury - Mursak Axelsson - Walsh - Tardif Emmerton - McGrath - Pare Tatar - Rismiller - Williams (Lemieux/Vigilante) Janik - Kindl Ehrhardt- Kolosov Piche - Pyett (Delmore) Larsson McCollum Individual Leaders: Goals: Williams, Tardif (4) Assists: Janik, Newbury, Nylander (5) Points: Newbury (8), 4 tied (6) PIM: Newbury (58), Crosty (21) Plus/Minus: Janik (+4), Emmerton, Ehrhardt (+3) Notes: * Michael Nylander has finished his successful conditioning stint with Grand Rapids. * Larsson stopped 74 of 75 shots in the previous two games and should start tonight. Eaves? What the heck has he done wrong? He's been great since he was put on a line with Helm.
-
4/5 so far and hoping Colorado can beat the Hawks.
-
Tardif has been pleasantly surprising (perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised!). He's doing it all for the Griffins right now and is showing great leadership on a relatively young and inexperienced side. Can score, fight, and who knows, if he keeps going the way he is he could be a call-up when injuries strike.
-
Never! But you know who's the other man though, Mursak.
-
MURSAK!!! Cory Emmerton has been absolutely birlliant tonight, just all over the ice.
-
I quite liked Kopecky, didn't want him to leave, but in saying that... Patrick Eaves > Kopecky.
-
Wow Griffins just decided to turn it up a notch. 3 goals in less than 5 minutes. Cory Emmerton with 2 goals, his first for the season.
-
Well, he's not really on the 4th line. They rotate a lot, some players get double shifted ect. Score! Thanks again for the stream drumnj.

I love Helm.
-
I told you! He's great! 500k, what a steal!
-
Stupid Ericsson, we've got all the momentum and he takes a bad penalty.
-
HANK!! The garbage man!

Datsyuk was the best player on the ice, had two assists. The first was a cheap one, he lost the face-off but must have made contact as the puck trickled to Zetterberg who nailed a shot that beat Thomas. The second goal came about 2 minutes later, Bertuzzi patiently collected the puck at the blue line and made a nice pass to a surging Datsyuk who juggled the puck and looked set to shoot but did a nice little drop pass to Holmstrom who did very well to get a shoot off while being surrounded by a few Bruins. Gem of a goal, great teamwork. Lidstrom was great, Stuart very effective also. Meech I thought looked surprisingly good but only played about 10 minutes. Janik was good too and got into good positions, took care of forwards at the crease and made good decisions. Helm, Draper and Eaves looked great on the 3rd line and were flying. On the negative side, Leino was pretty average. Got smoked by a huge hit along the boards in the 1st and just couldn't get much happening all night. Improved as the gamw wore on but still a far cry from the player we saw last season. Jason Williams was the worst Wing on the ice, turned the puck over a few times, took an interference penalty while we were on the PP. Seemed like whenever he did something good he followed it up by something poor. And lastly, Osgood was terrific, especially in the 1st. We played tight defence, good puck control and generally crisp passing. Good solid showing.

He was good, very good given the circumstances. I certainly didn't miss Rafalski and his turnovers. Maybe one of these days Kindl will make his long awaited debut though.
-
Janik was surprisingly good. Positioned himself well, passed well and made the right decision. Was certainly impressed and he played more than Meech (who I thought played well too).
-
Williams has been awful. Draper with the EN.
-
Eaves is awesome on the PK. Helm & Eaves= chemistry.
-
Our PK has been impressive but my word Boston's PP is awful. Impressisve stuff through two periods. Osgood has been great and got lucky with 2 posts. Dastyuk more quiet that period, think the third line has been terrific. Meech has surprisingly played a real solid game.
-
Looked like a weak penalty to me. Janik continues to impress me. Loving the Draper-Helm-Easves line.
-
You know it! Datsyuk is amazing. Staggering how good he is. I wanted Kindl but Janik impressed me.
-
Man crush on Datsyuk. Great play by Todd!
-
Zetterberg, just clear the puck...
-
Datsyuk is a freak, pick pocketing everyone. Helm was great on that PK, two fine efforts. Osgood looks very sharp. Love Eaves' game. And Janik doesn't look out of place.
