Don't listen to a word he says mate, absolute clown.

Honestly, I'm losing more respect for Hudler by the day.

Sportsnet: Hudler awarded 2 year deal 5m total; Still KHL bound

Yeah, his 23 goals and 57 points last season clearly indicate that he doesn't fit in the NHL. -

And to think you were one of my favourite players. Bye Jiri, hope you're happy. -
RWC has released their new prospect rankings. Some serious question marks IMO. Here's the link: http://www.redwingscentral.com/stories/200...nkingUpdate.php I question some of those rankings. The main two I have problems with are Ritola and Axelsson. Ritola has 10 points in 11 games, is playing in all situations and yet he’s at 10? He is even compared to Kopecky which doesn’t sit too well with me. IMO Dick Axelsson is the best offensive prospect in our system. So on the whole he might not be ahead of Helm and Leino but when you consider his pure offensive talents he’s got to be higher. From memory he has 10 points in 12 SEL games this season, not bad for a 21 year old. And yet he’s at 13, below guys like Emmerton who realistically has shown very little. I’d put both these guys a lot higher. I’d have Kindl higher too but at least he acknowledged that many still have him at #1. I think Larsson is a tad too low and Oulahen deserves to be on the list.

I think some people have unrealistic expectations. It's the end of July, there's virtually no one that's any good left and ex-Wing Jason Williams is available. This is a guy who went close to 60 points while here not that long ago. He's got his faults and he's frustrating at times but he can certainly put up the points, he knows what it's like to play here and if he comes cheap (which he will, ignore the $2.5 rumour) it will be a good addition by Kenny. We need more scoring depth to replace the goals lost by Hossa, Samulesson and most likely Hudler. I'm certainly for this possible signing.
-
I'd love to have Williams back, doesn't sound as though he really wants to come back though... There is NO way he would be signed for $2.5 mil, that number is a complete lie.

Pretty sure there's not a thread on this, only the Ward has been traded thread which included Eaves. But anyway, Eaves has been waived by Boston. Only 25, former first round pick, has good first and second seasons with Ottawa but for one reason or another (mainly injury) has hit some hurdles in his development. Would come very cheap and would surely be hungry after being waived. I think he'd be the perfect fit in Detroit to resurrect his career.

Going to be an insanely good player but there is absolutely no chance he signs here. None.

Emmerton is probably the prospect I care the least about, for whatever reason there's just nothing in him that excites me. He did have an okay rookie AHL season, started slowly but had a few nice scoring streaks here and there as the season progressed. Was very disappointing in the playoffs though. He needs a big season to really make a name for himself. I think we took him a bit too early. Latendresse, meh, he's gone backwards almost every season. I'd rather Abdelkader.
-
Ouch, that's not good. I like McGrath's potential, would hate to see him leave for nothing.
-
Always a good day when your favourite prospect re-signs for 3 years! Going to be a great player is Kindl; will improve a lot when surrounded by elite talent I'm sure. I hope this season he just irons out some consistency issues with the Griffins.
-
Is McGrath unable to be sent back to Grand Rapids without having to risk clearing waivers? I don't see him making the Wings roster next season but I doubt he'll clear waivers, someone will pick him up. As for Oulahen, I'm hoping he's one of our 4th line forwards this season.
-
Maybe I got it wrong, maybe he hasn't re-signed. I just assumed that when the Wings tendered a qualifying offer to Ryan it meant he would be back. I sure hope so.
-
OK champ. Quit being so defensive over your precious Hossa thread.
-
Hey, that's kinda like this thread...
-
Mate, like you can talk, with this reactionary thread. Nothing against you personally but it's just getting so tiresome having a new Hossa thread for every comment he or the fans make. He's gone, move on. I can see 5 Hossa scores his first goal threads now...
-
Close thread, what a waste of space. Can we merge EVERYTHING Hossa into one thread?
-
Yep, agreed.
-
Wow! I wanted it to happen but I never thought Dumars would pull the trigger after one year! Great move IMO, might be seen as ruthless but if he wasn't up to it, he wasn't up to it.
-
I can't believe I've only just found out that we freaking TRADED AMIR JOHNSON?????????? At least he went to Milwaukee. Bogut and Johnson oh baby!
-
Arron Afflalo is gone? Well that sucks, just like virtually every made Dumars has made for the past 4-5 years. Afflalo might never be a star but he plays with real intensity and a passion for the game, he's quick and is a VERY strong defender. This deal is a typical Dumars shocker. What is his obsession with stock piling rubbish draft picks that will only be served to draft more hacks? I'm fed up. And Walter Sharpe, well that was the biggest waste of time in history. I remember everyone saying he was no good, and we drafted some guy who fell asleep and couldn't pass his subjects, something along those lines. And now we've gone and traded him. Hey Joe here's an idea, how about drafting players that are actually GOOD? Guys like Afflalo. Oh wait...
-
Yes he has. I like Oulahan and think he deserves a shot on the Wings. I think he'd make a good, solid 4th liner and will come very cheap. If we're struggling to find a player to take a spot on the 4th line then we could do a lot worse than put Ryan there. He's a great defensive forward, is good on the PK and is a terrific leader. Look at the struggles to the Griffins had when he departed from their line-up.
-
I still say Mursak is a superior prospect than Emmerton. He does need a big season though.

As well as being one of the most highly skilled players in the league, Zherdev is one of my favourite players in the league. I would absolutely LOVE to see him in Detroit. He's got the potential to be a 90+ point guy without a doubt.
