Freep article I think fatigue played a huge part in the loss. As he pointed out, we never got the level we could have. It was an incredibly frustrating series because the entire time I was waiting for the Wings to turn it on and outside of Game 5, it just didn't happen. Things just failed to click the entire time and as a result we came up short.

I do agree re Abdelkader. Scores in two consecutive games, plays in Game 3 and then isn't to be seen again. I realise he had to shift to wing when Draper came back and Babs thought he would've have been effective on the wing but cmon, stick with the hot hand. It was a poor decision.

It can be done, no point stressing about back-to-back (to back) long seasons, I'm sure the players can handle it. It sure beats a long off-season.

That's what hurts so much, we were SO close to another Cup, to back-to-back Cups. What an oppertunity.

Heck yes I'd be willing. But it won't be that simple, realistically we would have to give up probably Rafalski and Holmstrom, as well as not re-signing Hossa. I think we should be willing to explore the possibilities though because when Lidstrom retires we'll need someone to lead our defence and this man could well be the one to do it.

Mate I'm absolutely shattered too, I'm expecting to wake up from this nightmare. But the fact remains, we were extremely flat. Since when have the Wings put so few shots on goal, since when has the team had such little jump? We were trying but I'm willing to bet they virtually had nothing left in the tank, and when you're nervous that's not a great combination.

Imagine his wheels in our system, would be a great fit I agree. Isn't he an UFA this season though? We really needed him to be an UFA next season when a whole lot of salary comes off the books.

Absolute stud. Put him on a better team and he would be amazing IMO. I would LOVE to see Detroit sign him!

That's what's so sad, I honestly think fatigue was the main reason behind the loss. Had we been healthy and fit I honestly believe we would've won. Just wasn't to be. I'm shattered.

Bouwmeester is my #1 target, I think we should forget re-signing Hossa, be prepared to let a few guys go if it means gettign Jay. But Rafalski on the third pairing, since when does a guy making $6 mil play on the 3rd pairing?

What happened to Helm? I didn't see him out there at all in the 3rd. Filppula had a very good game, Clearly was good too, Datsyuk was pretty creative.
